    Welcome to the new GRID

    Maybe it'll be DLC 🙄

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

I noticed GRID is launching with an Ultimate Edition with 3 seasons. Might this be a vague indicator that Dirt Rally 2.0 might stretch to 3 seasons too?

I expect Season 3 will be outside of the Deluxe Edition content, so will be payware for everyone 😛

Can someone at Codemasters confirm which of those cars will be useable in rally stages? From the screenshots it seems the Porsche and Lancia 037. What about the RS200? Are the ones listed as "Rallycross" only available in RX tracks, or will there be rally vesions of them too?

What about the livery in Colin McRae Rally (mobile/Steam version)? http://igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=67315 As also seen in Gravel: http://igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=150215 And Seb Loeb Rally Evo: http://igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=84667 Not sure why Milestone are able to do replica-ish of the Martini logos (same with their Lancia content) and others cannot...

I'm glad I had a tinker with Dirt Rally 2.0, Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown last night, as I got some mud this morning doing no more than 15mph and ended up having to use my rally skills to counter-steer back into line!

I'll ask again: I've not tried it yet, but does Sweden have weather with falling snow? All the clips on YouTube seem to be bright day time or evening.

That's the ST-185; Sega Rally (1) was the ST-205 🙂 Although Sega Rally 2 has the ST-185 as well 🙂

Bit of gossip? From: http://blog.codemasters.com/community/03/celebrating-the-women-behind-our-games-for-iwd2019-meet-mandy/ "I’m currently trying to arrange for a car to be scanned that is going to be in one of our DiRT Rally 2.0 service updates – however this car is stuck to a wall in a museum somewhere, so it’s going to be a fun job for the Vehicle Art team!" Anyone know of any wall-mounted rally cars?! The article also gives some insight into how "fun" licensing even logos is...

Question: to anyone else who pre-loaded the Deluxe Edition on Steam: when it installed, was it called Dirt Rally 2.0 in the install dialog or Dirt Rally 2.0 Deluxe Edition?

Regarding seasons, what if Season 1 and 2 are the only ones included with the Deluxe pack, and maybe they'll make extra, additional content, that's outside of those? (either more Seasons or standalone cars/rally locations). Would that be a good thing?

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Bear in mind two life rally events often reuse stages from year to year. I haven't heard many rally drivers day it's boring as they raced the same stages last year lol

I wonder if there might be a Season 3, of the first 2 sell well? From the press release it sounds like Day One or standard users will be able to buy seasons later or even just individual bits of content.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Sometimes they announce things towards the end of the day in UK, like 4pm. But let's keep waiting...
  22. I basically did this: 1. Install the game from the CD-ROM; on my PC there was no need to set Win98 compatibility, but you might need to. 2. Once installed, install the 1.5 patch, which can be found here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/917 - I DID need to set XP compatibility (at least) on that european.exe file, or it wouldn't find the game. 3. If you now try to run the game, you may get an error 2094. To fix this, use Win98 compatibility on the game.exe file (or the Colin McRae Rally shortcut). If you use XP compatibility or above the game will detect this and say incorrect operating system. 4. There is a Win7 unofficial patch on the net, which you can find here: https://web.archive.org/web/20150401005453/http://kfyatek-dev.jogger.pl/2011/09/25/colin-mcrae-rally-1-unofficial-windows-7-patch/ however when I tried this patch the game seemed to crash for me, so I uninstalled and reinstalled without using this patch, and now it seems to work. Again, it might just be my setup, so you might need to run this patch. 5. I can see both opening videos on my PC, as I installed the Indeo video drivers from *somewhere* on the net already. Not very helpful, this bit, I admit... 6. Try running the game, it *should* work. It might occasionally crash when loading a race though. You'll also notice graphics corruption in the 3D items in the menu, as it uses 256 colour mode, which is no longer supported. However the game will be okay. 7. Here's the smoothness trick. If you use "Motion Smoothing" option in the games Advanced graphics setting, it seems to lock the framerate to something like 25fps. Just turn that off! There might be the odd glitch every few seconds though, but it's better that judder! I did have an Application Compatibility Toolkit fix for framerates, but that's not needed in Win10. And that's it. Sometimes it might crash loading a race though, perhaps the Win7 patch may help more there, I didn't experiment with it too much.
  23. I had already installed DiRT 3 Complete Edition on an old PC, and already collected the add-ons which are supplied as download codes, so they were already against my GFWL account. However, when I started the game it wouldn't connect to GFWL and I couldn't re-download the add-ons. All I did was to open Control Panel, open Programs and Features, then Uninstall both "Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace" and "Microsoft Games for WIndows - LIVE Redistributable", as I think DiRT 3 automatically installs an older version when you install it. I then collected and installed the latest GFWL from here: http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Live/PC/DownloadClient Then, when I open the installed Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace it allowed the re-download of the previously installed add-ons (Power and Glory Car Pack, Mud and Guts Car Pack and Free Car Pack, which I claimed even earlier with an original DiRT 3 version). When booting the game, it told me a new version of GFWL was available, so I installed that as well, and then all seems to be well. So that'll keep me going until the Steam port is finally released. Whenever that might be!
  24. 1. Install the game from CD-ROM. 2. Install the 1.09 patch from here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/919 3. Set compatibility mode on the Colin McRae Rally 2 shortcut to WindowsXP (doesn't matter which). If you don't, the game won't start at all. 4. Test it works. You'll notice a window border around the game and a less-than-smooth framerate. Note: on my monitor for in-game resolution I can't use the maximum (stretched anyway) 2560x1440 resolution (as the game crashes setting it), so I go for 1920x1080 instead. 5. To remove the border and get full framerate (lovely and smooth), either drop a modified DDRAW.dll file into the game folder, or use ACT on both game.exe and rally.exe with the fixes listed here (I prefer ACT as it's not using a potentially one day out-of-date DDRAW.dll): http://www.blitzbasic.com/Community/post.php?topic=99477&post=1271915 Issue: the opening videos (if they even displayed for you before, with a border) now will show black, just press Return twice to skip them. Enjoy!
  25. Just noticed this news last night: http://www.virtualr.net/iracing-com-mclaren-honda-mp4-30-announced which says this year's McLaren F1 car is coming to iRacing (hope it doesn't break down as much as the real life car lol). This is interesting as I believe SimRaceWay had the exclusive McLaren license (for F1 cars), so this is a departure. Whether this means that they are available to sign up for Classic content in future Codemasters F1 games is another matter, but it might be getting closer!
