    Message for Steve

Codemasters doesn't care about realism and appealing to fans who want optional sim/realism features, they sadly only care about appealing to 10 year olds and people who want it to be just a mario kart style arcade game.

    [VIDEO] F1 2014 Bahrain Hotlap

Thanks for the hot lap  however once again the replay camera angles are complete garbage. Why can't you guys just use the TV angles? F1 Championship Edition 2006 did... Also, when I first watched the video, I thought it was a PS2 game at first...

    All sessions included?

They keep making their games more and more Arcade like, they got rid of press room interviews, then interviews all together, they removed the immersion feeling in the paddock with the buildings and replaced it with a arcade style menu, they remove 2 practice sessions, they refuse to let the safety car to come out of the first and last laps, they make the damage sensitivity super low so that you have to harpoon a car at full speed just to get damage, they refuse to have engine failures or actual out of fuel where your car stops, they put in super brakes in the runoff areas, and they remove the young drivers test. This just ticks me off, then they say that it's too difficult to add OPTIONAL sim features to the game but have no problems adding super easy mode, shortened career mode, and a lot of arcade features. They keep on appealing to the whinny 10 year old kids but not the people who want a realistic F1 game.
  4. I hope they can at least make the safety car deploy of lap one and the last few laps.

    Formula B wrong livery

    I've had this same problem.

What new F1 titles are you going to buy?

I'll buy both, because if there is a new F1 game, I will buy  it regardless. Also because it will help pass the time. Grid Autosport will help pass the time until F1 2014. F1 2014 will help pass the time until Project Cars comes out. PC will hold me off until F1 2015 and Battlefield Hardline arrive.

Ideas for replays of F1 2014

For F1 2015, they should do what F1 Championship Edition 2006 did and combine them with your suggestions. In F1 championship edition, you could watch practice and qualifying sessions when you were in the garage and the race if you retired. Also, there was something called F1 TV or spectator race where you could customize the grid order, choose the track, amount of laps, and the weather. I always enjoyed putting the back markers like Aguri Honda and MF1 Toyota in the front and the front runners Ferrari, Renault, McLaren, and Honda in the back, it made some very entertaining racing. They too used realistic TV style cameras (even the camera high above casino square at Monaco was in it) and had good onboards and the FOM HUD.
  9. Don't forget the stupid bug that doesn't allow the safety car to deploy on the first lap and the last few laps. That bug has been in F1 2012 and 2013.
  10. According to you, they should make it digital in Europe and everywhere else then? Some of us like to have physical copies of the games. It's easier to have a disc then it is to setup your psn on a friend's system, then download the entire game onto it, and then play.  Also it can be collectable to some users.

Questions for Steve on F1 2014

Can you please tell us why formation laps once again are not in this year's F1 game and will they be in F1 2015?

    Announcing: F1 2014 and Beyond

Maybe they should try hiring more people?  Yeah maybe they should try growing money on a tree as well  THAT JOKE RIGHT THERE WAS SO FUNNY, I FORGOT TO LAUGH, yes it costs money but hiring more people would help them in the long run by not having to spend as much time developing games,  it could also make them higher quality and thus more people could possibly buy the games.  How do they hire people if they haven't got the money? More people working on a game doesn't gurantee a better game, and you're also implying that a higher quality game will sell more products, when there are some top quality games which were reported to have done poorly in sales. E.g Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution, even Blur which was probably the most entertaining racing game I've played absolutely tanked in sales. A lot of the problems people have, i.e driver changes, team manager mode, side pods getting damaged in the crash, having a GP2/3 feeder series, are all licensing issues which would require a lot of money to get around, not hiring more people. But sure you could make a better Formula 1 game, and hire thousands of people despite not having any money, but you can tell them "don't worry it'll be high quality so it'll sell more" Yeah, no. Thanks for changing my mind and presenting me with a good argument. Why does everyone hate me for some reason? Not sure if you're being sarcastic, can never tell but I'll assume you weren't. Your original post of "Maybe they should try hiring more people?" came across as a bit arrogant and ignorant. Not to say that was your intention but it was easily interpreted that way. I think it's easy to assume Codemasters are being lazy, and they just need to do what EA does with FIFA but do it for F1. But the sad reality is that EA's sport franchises have an astronomical budget and Codemasters just aren't that big of a company. It was not my intention for my comment of "Maybe they should try hiring more people?" to be perceived/read as being sarcastic. It was an ignorant statement I made with out putting any thought into it. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

It's not WHAT you said, but the WAY you said it.  The internet can be a cruel mistress   Define the way i said it?

    Boycott?yeah right!!

I will not boycott the game, I am more mature than that even though I am upset at some of the things.

They have several open positions: http://www.codemasters.com/jobs but  you can only hire as many people as you can afford to pay. Ok so they are hiring, now I understand.

MarkDavis94 said: Maybe they should try hiring more people?  Yeah maybe they should try growing money on a tree as well How hard is it to add formation laps, seriously? Why is it that Codemasters now hates realism like formation laps, podium celebrations, interviews, all 3 practice sessions, etc and instead try to make this game as arcade as possible? Don't tell me that it's not possible on the old generation of consoles, on F1 Championship Edition 2006, they had formation laps and podium celebrations. F1 2010 even had interviews and 3 practice sessions. Now they are just too lazy to implement these things in the game. They better include these things in updates to F1 2014  and it better be in the game in F1 2015.
  18. Now that F1 2014 has been announced, will we get disc/physical copies here in North America or will we get thrown under the bus again?

Way earlier? We all know what "earlier" means for CM. Maybe August or in best case July. We better get F1 2015 in April, especially since they are having updates to the game.sjsharp2010 said: Maybe they should try hiring more people?

Studio Liverpool (i.e. the ones who made the F1 games) are now defunct, so giving it back to Sony would mean nothing but exclusivity on the PS4. And who the heck wants that?!?!? Plus there would be no guarantee that the games would even be half decent, let alone good. Then how about another developer like SMS?

    Announcing: F1 2014 and Beyond

It's pathetic how Codemasters couldn't even mange to make a new gen F1 game this year. EA made Battlefield 4 on new gen and old gen, Call of Duty was on both. EA Sports made FIFA, NBA, and Madden on both gens as well. Those were 2013 GAMES. Codemasters should have made F1 2013 on the new gen as well in November like ALL the other non-Codemasters games, but NO. Now comes 2014, they act like we will get a new gen 2014 game but STILL NO. Instead we get a half assed, carbon copied F1 2013 with just new cars and tracks, nothing else. 2015 will finally arrive, we will once again have to pay $60, updates will probably be a total of $60 knowing this companies record. There will probably be no formation laps and no other life like features and will instead be the same carbon copied game at 60fps. Time to give up the licence  Codemasters, give it to a trustworthy company like Sony again who made EXCELENT F1 games.

    F1 2014 Mid November Release?

Or they could just add a patch that can make certain areas challenging/struggling for that track.
  23. ukfan758

    A question for Codemasters

It's called Codemasters being lazy and trying to make their F1 games arcade games. The same goes with not having formation laps.
  24. ukfan758

    What Must Be In F1 2014 : )

What do you guys think of this?: Formation lapsAll three practice sessions.Safety car deploys more often and on the first lap and last laps.Podium celebrations and interviews in paddock and press room.Remove auto brake in runoff (a stupid arcade feature that should have never been implemented in the first place) or at least make it optional.Cars more prone to damage (sensitive) TV style replay cameras That shouldn't be too hard...

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

Great! Hopefully it will have realistic features like formation laps, a 3 practice sessions, a working safety car for the first and last laps, and podium celebrations and interviews. :D
