I don't post much as I much prefer just to hang out and read the forum, but I have to ask @TheLeeMather just one simple question, and I would appreciate a truthful response. Here it goes...

Knowing the current outcry within your community here on the forums and other social media outlets in regards to the lack of information so close to release of F1 2015, and also your promise to be more active on these forums than your predessesor; I was genuinely curious if you lay your head down at night with a clear concious?

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind regards.

Clearly he'll be concious before he goes to sleep, then after that unconscious.  Seriously though, asking if he has a conscience to be able to sleep at night, don't you think that's blowing things a little out of proportion.
Apologies for the typo, must have been autocorrect and I didn't catch it. To your response, no I don't believe it's blowing it out of proportion; because there are many here concerned who have legitimate, well thought out questions and there's nothing. I could completely understand if everyone was throwing insults around like children and being 'trolls,' but that's not the case.

I just could never understand how some people can't or don't stay true to their word. All of these concerns and questions day after day, and there seems to be no effort whatsoever to even give their community at least some of what they are asking for; and what they want isn't even out of line or unrealistic. I just wanted a deeper sense of who our community manager is with that question. I don't believe in pulling punches and will straight up ask someone a direct question. How he answers, or lack thereof, will speak volumes.

  3. Just a random inquiry as the last time I checked the F1 2013 leaderboards, the last position was still under the 10,000 mark; compared to hundreds of thousands of players playing the big AAA titles. I'm just curious what the actual number of registered players is, and if such a low player base contributes to the efforts put forth into the F1 titles year after year. Surely Codemasters can't be making quite a bit of money from the F1 games.
  4. I literally laughed out loud when reading this little snippet from this article. Such bullsh** PR crap seeping out of every orifice. This is why I don't trust CM as far as I can. All lies.

“We got off to a strong start with FORMULA ONE but we harbour ambitions to do much more. FORMULA ONE is front of mind at Codemasters and we give it the focus and attention it deserves. We have established close links across the sport and they know that, in Codemasters, they have a great partner.”

  8. There's not much to add at this point since everything has been said so well, so I'll just say I'm absolutely disgusted with Codemasters. Formula 1 is the one form of motorsport that means the most to me, and to see the only official product being treated like this by CM is utterly heart breaking.

Nowhere else can we get our Formula 1 racing fix, and for the foreseeable future it seems it will remain that way. So desperately do I want a stellar F1 racing experience, and it's crushing how CM are treating their privilege to hold the license like a bag of sh** with the constant silence, lame excuses, a sheer pathetic attempt at these hot laps videos, but most of all the fact that 2014 was decided to simply be 2013 with a new skin. That one hurts the most because of all the time and money that went into building my racing rig, Thrustmaster TX with Ferrari F1 rim, and Xbox One hoping I'd be playing F1 2014 on my most prized possession in my game room.

I can honestly, without a doubt state that I truly hope Codemasters lose their precious F1 license, and it goes to another studio with the hunger and desire to make the franchise fresh and amazing as it should damn well be. Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport; shouldn't the franchise be the pinnacle of racing games?

Think about that Codemasters. You blew it. You straight up dropped the f**king ball. I sincerely hope you are happy with how much you've alienated us; your paying customers. Your fans.
  9. Not me. This weekend I traded in my Xbox 360 and peripherals towards finishing off paying for Destiny with some in-store credit left over. Since my Thrustmaster TX wheel is not compatible with the 360, there was absolutely no reason to hold on to my console any longer. I'll be keeping myself busy with other games until Project Cars is released.
  10. What bothers me to be quite honest, is the fact that @Hatta and whoever else at CM are "willingly" releasing these videos, knowing full well it isn't what most of us have asked for. We've clearly stated we wanted t-cam or cockpit footage; yet, and this is a another big YET, they release a video with exactly 2 seconds of t-cam view out of an entire 1:32 video. 2 seconds! I would bet that someone (probably an editor) asked, "Hey how much t-cam/cockpit footage do we want in the hot lap video?" and then someone else (probably a community rep) had to have said, "Just a small shot; maybe a second or two." The point is, there was a intentional choice to have such a little amount of that camera angle in the video. It wasn't just accidental. Someone decided on that regardless of how we've made our requests known many times since the Bahrain hot lap video. What does that tell you?

I'm sorry @Hatta, but at this point it truly feels like you guys at CM just don't care. You can say that you do all you want, but that just simply won't change how we feel. The old saying rings true that actions speak louder than words. I (we) know you all aren't idiots. Let's get real here for a second; you know what the fans want, at least a majority of us, because we ask for the same thing week after week, thread after thread. But still, there's not much being revealed, shown, or let alone much of what we actually want to see. I mean, that can't feel good inside @Hatta can it? So much damage has been done lately between CM and their fans because of all of this that I really don't know if the trust between developer and consumer can be mended. I'm not saying this to be hurtful or out of spite @Hatta, I'm really not. But you guys are clearly not doing much to foster a good relationship with us at the moment.

Here I was thinking this video had something to do with 2014, the title is very misleading whether that was your intention or not... Regardless there is little point talking about the 2013 game now since they won't change anything in 2014 except for new cars/rules basically.

2015 is next-gen on a completely new engine so physics like this won't be the same.

Agreed. Regardless of intention, the thread title is misleading. I think it was to garner thread views and traffic. Shady way of getting attention.

  12. Quick question:
    Will FP1 and FP2 return in F1-2014?
I hope so, cause only 60 Minutes of practice is not enough to get a good setup!

    Another question:
What about dedicated servers for F1-2015?
The P2P model we have right now is sub-optimal, to be honest!

  13. Well firstly, thank you @Hatta for the hot lap video.

I must admit, I'm quite a bit underwhelmed, but it's almost to be expected. How much more can they possibly get out of the last gen consoles? I'll start by saying the car itself looks like it doesn't belong on the track. It's a bit hard to describe, but to me it looks like the car and the environment each have a different graphic fidelity that doesn't match; therefore it appears the car has been pasted onto the environment (if that makes any sense lol). Also, it's clear I can see "polygons" on the car. Such as the tires, and the white line that separates the red from the black on the car. But then again, it's old gen tech and almost every game is like that. Still though, nothing magical about the Ferrari in this video, whereas the car in real life is a thing of beauty (my opinion of course).

Next, the environment. This is the most disappointing aspect of the video. I simply cannot believe how bland it is. Yes it's at night (which doesn't look too impressive anyway), but anyone who's watched a night race at any venue that holds night races knows how gorgeous a track is under complete flood lighting. And that's where I think the problem is...the lighting. The old gen just isn't good enough to support the type of realistic lighting we've seen already in next gen games. And I think that's what really makes or breaks the immersion of a game, it's all in the lighting. Bahrain in this video has no vibrant color or depth to it; it's just very very dull. I might even go as far to say this sort of level of imagery of a track is on par with something we would have seen in the very first year of Xbox 360 or PS3...it's that's bland!

As for the audio, well I've never heard the new cars in person and have only heard them via television, so I can't really compare since watching on TV doesn't give a true sense of what the cars actually sound like. However, I will comment that upon the first listen, the rev pitch is just way to high. It's almost distracting to the point where it might not be enjoyable to drive extended periods of time in my racing simulator with full surround sound.

In the end, it's still an old gen game and expectations have to be kept realistic. There's only so much that can be done at this point, and we have to accept that. Hopefully Codemasters are addressing all of these issues and making the next gen game truly next gen. I'm hoping this was the reason for the shift in game releases. Either way, this video does not excite me in any way, and I will probably not be purchasing F1 2014.

Edit: Ah I forgot to add, @Hatta can you at least request the creators of these videos to make them in 1080p? Showing them in 720p isn't doing anything to help your cause lol. :)
