  1. Guess I missed a lot of gossip,... while preparing and rallying my last rally,.. anyway :D

Small update before we go back gossiping,

We did finished the Tank S Rally 2015, never drove under such tricky slippery  rainy conditions over the small dikes, where there was no room for error or a mistake,... ( the rewind button is not available in real) and we couldn't get out of the water if u dropped down the dike.

Although it was 100% tarmac, we had to cut so much that there was for more than 5 kg of mud around my car, but that do makes it challenging.
We finished 47th overall and 3rd in my class, could have been much better if I had the guts, but I couldn't afford to crash or damage my rally car badly, because of a tight rally schedule and some targets that I have to achieve.

Here a nice photo from the last power stage ( at an Industrial area)

Ok, back on topic..  I still think on (James) MAY 8th, 12th or MAY 28th we will see something from this Gossip that could be true, and it could very well be that rally cross is one of the highlights of the preview-reel or whatever.
Did you guys also noticed that May 22- 24 the World Rallycross Championship visit Lydden Hill? :O
12 / 28 of May will make it plausible! * Gossip material !!!!*

Apparently Top Gear will show RX this sunday (the 8th). More pics: http://www.bbcamerica.com/top-gear/photos/season-22-episode-7-photo-gallery/#10238

Ooh and Apparently the bit was shot late last year.
Continuing onto my always evolving conspiracy theory:  128  James MAY rallycross episode airing on '8th' day hmm.. But what about the 1???

The 1 to make 28 , 29 (28+1) so that will make it 29 of May :O =  the last friday in May
Although 24 of may in 2011 was a tuesday,...  hmm... doesnt make sense....

  4. Hmmm,... I found some gossip material,...

Lately the DiRT twitter page has been flirting with the Red Bull GRC Rallycross twitter.... around rallycross..

Thats suspicious ,... but what even more James May in a Rallycross car,...

Should this be a hint that we can expect something in May?

Lately someone wished to have a new rally game in Q3 the DiRT page said that Q3 is way to far away, some how ironic,,,, so should we get it in Q2? Beside that D3 got released at 24 of May,... so this could make it a little bit more solid.

    What do you thing guys?

  5. Sorry guys - crazy busy this week

So am I right in thinking the list is

If you have to cancel or can't make it whatever, that's totally cool. You're not locked in and we won't be mad or anything like that if you can't make it.

Sadly I have to cancel my trip, :( To busy with work and rallying, especially next weekend/ begin next week..
Atleast I will make sure to come over to the UK later this year, perhaps I can also meet up with some DiRTy forum guys over here ?

U can stay up-to-date about my European rally carreer by following us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MvHRallysport

  6. So a bit of cool chatter went down on Twitter today with Hayden Paddon!

    And now get this:

Yes, the above is Hayden Paddon confirming DiRT 4. Over and out.

Alzenau (Germany) -> Southam (UK) aint that far!
Would love to see Paddon jumping over! only thing I guess what would be a problem should be the time,... in 2 weeks they got to move to Mexico for the WRC Rally Guanajuato México.

  7. Monday 23rd February

    Codies Canteen
    DiRTy Love

Usual rules apply, you'll need to make your own way here and will have to be OK signing an NDA. I'll try and get as many in as I can but spaces might be limited. Wait until I've confirmed the list before booking any time off work etc.

We love you guys, sorry 128 day wasn't what you wanted it to be <3

Depending on my rally and work schedule I will give a check when a date is announced when u want to plan it, Its always good to come over to the UK ;-)
But u can count on me if needed ;-)

at the end there has to be a good balance between them.
But "wide enough to pass while you're both sliding sideways" isn't it.
I want something challenging, like WRC and RBR, where I actually have to think about what I'm doing, and can't just run the majority of the stage at full throttle.

Thats the SIM way of thinking ;-)
    Believe, dont get me wrong, I want the same as you, because in real rallying its not all the time flat out, only the WRC and ERC drivers flat out all the time, funny fact perhaps;

Did u know that all the Rent WRC cars by privateers in every country getting more to suffer (mechanical) then when they got driven by a WRC driver?
Small example, All the factory drivers (WRC drivers) drive a rally stage for more then 90% full throttle and a few heavy brake points ,all the privateers that rent a WRC car drive much more carefull, ( no offence, because if u crash it cost a lot of money a WRC car) but because they drive the rally stage 60 or 70% flat out and more braking the Anti lag system gets really hot and get more damage = will be earlier destroyed.
Because the WRC got 90% flat out the antilag has time to cool down,.. but because of all the braking a WRC car driven by a privateer gets the antilag to hot because it has no time to cool down.

There are many other examples ( sorry rallyaddicted xD)

And to be honest even here in the Netherlands we dont have wide roads/rallystages but the main thing u have to remeber is that the young arcade rally gamers do want a little bit more space on the road.

Last but not least, belive me its in save hands our wishes over there in Southam ;-)
Specially because @jontucker was involved and @KickUp is still there ;-) so there are real rally drivers infiltrated in the Codemasters base ;-)

Somebody please show that video to the team in charge of stage creation, and point out to them that most of the road is barely wider than the car, with trees and ditches on the sides.
There is no need to say that to the team,
they know how it is in real.

but u got to remember SIM vs Arcade at the end there has to be a good balance between them.

  10. @Benniz Rallying is something very diffrent then SIM gaming isnt it?
I guess i should make a video log from my really season too :D
Guess I will start with it this wensday! The new Peugeot 206 RC body is finally done from the paintshop <3 fresh colour!
    Yes you should!!!

Well in that case , lets give it a DiRTy try ;-)

You are making me excited for my first rally of the year! Just over two weeks now!

Hmm mine first event will be 21 of March around Emmeloord ( The Netherlands)

@Benniz Goodluck this weekend! :D I am excited for you! And i would love to come over to compete in one snow rally too! :D

BTW this is the rally i will drive, very tricky and slipy

Specially for you @KickUp here some dope video from the BMW M1 coupe ( around 0:50 and 3:10 )

  11.   we are almost  4 years after last dirt game (i dont consider showdown like that ) and nothing about the next DIRT game.. Why CM goes so slowly to the next generation ..?

Kylotonn games is prepared the new WRC game for this fall , same for Milestone that creates its new IP called Sebastian Loeb rally for same period .. From codies nothing to hear.. any screen any video any info! :\ .Which is you answer codies?

I reinstall DIRT 2 and there are still some players online on PC and i ahev fun with it..

When DIRT 3  will go steamworks so we get all DLC as free upgrade and then to reinstall it?? :(

    @MiatakiasGR I know its 4 years ago,
but I think u underestimate what time and money it cost to make one full proper game.
Not to mention the perfectionism where the Codemasters team works with.

A few forum members and I had the privilege to take a look in the Codemasters Kitchen where they are working at some delicious recipes.

    But consider this,..
Every year a half microwave oven meal, created by machines and made to get money out of you and dont care about the taste or the recipes.
One full hand made big feast meal made with love by Jamie Oliver with all the right ingredients from the locals including some very nice secret and innovating taste? That will make u satisfied!

    For the same price.....

Belive me its worth the waiting to get satisfied ;-)
And beside that its good that Codemasters don't spill any beans!
I mean every body is curious what they are making, but hey! U dont let the world look in the Kitchen while they are preparing a feast meal in a 4 star restaurant ;-)

Beside that, how long do you think it will take to create one proper "Rally" in a game?
I think when u find out the answer, u probally will have more respect to a Codemasters game ;-)
Specially if u know that for example Colin McRae Rally 2005 had over more then 9 rallies and 70 stages
And I am not yet talking about the physics and all the other important things that.

Cant wait until the new DiRT ( dont know why i keep calling it like this) is released and i can do my impression story about what i saw, felt and noticed over there in Southam

  12. Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo is looking better than WRC5...
U can make the best and most beautiful good looking graphic stages,... but as long as game snow, does not react as real snow, game ice, not as real ice, and game gravel and tarmac, not as real gravel and tarmac, its all worthless....

For example...the SS1 of the Monte Carlo Rally 2015 ( if u didnt see it, try to watch it ) the stage was mixed up by ice snow and tarmac,... no WRC driver ( except the legend Loeb) couldnt drive flat out, and had to be carefull, this is where its all about in rallying master the underground and try to be as fast as possible ..

Thats what is also really important for a rally game ( sim or not doesnt mather) the behavior of the surrounds and nature has to be perfect. because this is where its all about... ( same with the cars)

And i have to admit,... with all respect to the WRC games made by Milestone or other racing games... no one got that perfect yet. The modders of RBR came very close,.. thats why its so perfect RALLY SIM, I do hope that codemasters will get close to it!
But I think I am alloud to say this * if not please  @justbiglee dont kill me *
I think Codemasters and the DiRT team understand this important basic structure very well... and know what to do!
