Glad to have you on board. No need to apologise for getting a good deal! I can't claim to be anywhere near as good as the players on here, but I do know what it's like to struggle early on and learn how to get better. Don't be too disheartened if you're not doing very well early on. Focus on being able to complete stages without crashing or spinning and how to maintain control of cars. Once you feel comfortable, then start upping your speed.

If they have changed the AI, I certainly haven't noticed it! I've only played RX on Pro since the update, so if they have improved the AI, were the problems with it far worse on difficulties above Clubman before the update? Maybe the jump from Clubman to Pro is far bigger than that from Open to Clubman?

I've started my first Rallycross championship on Pro difficulty, driving the RX2 car. I have found that my times and positions are rather odd. I finished 14th overall in the first event at Silverstone, but won all the heats by at least five seconds. In the second event at Montalegre, I was 11th after the heats and just like at Silverstone, had won them comfortably. I assumed that due to being second to last on the leaderboard, I would be 5th or 6th in the semi-final, but not so. I came 2nd in that and the final. How can it be that I'm way off the overall pace in the heats, but can match the AI in the semi-final and final?

That's another of my bugbears with rallycross. It seems as if any contact the AI cars have with the rear of you car will make you far more unstable than when it's the other way round. It also seems that the aggression on Pro is higher than on Open and Clubman and they actively try to punt me off. In event three at Catalunya I had the same problem I described in the original post. I won every heat by a few seconds except one, where I came second...I was 11th overall after the four heats!

I've done a couple of RX2 races since the update and the back end is now snappier than before. I've changed the setup to help with the oversteer, but the rear still steps out and the front understeers too much on certain corners. It's quite annoying that I can't push it as much as I did before the update. How can I stop the rear wanting to come round, without having the understeer?

I'm doing my first Monthly AI Challenge and was wondering how they work. Are the final standings based on points accrued in each event or by total time? I've had the glitch where times are all 120 minutes after exiting an event, but I won the last stage so won the event. If the standings are based on total time, I have no hope of doing well! If they're based on points, how are prize credits sorted? Are every player's points put into a table and then the most credits given out to the top points scorers?

It would be better if when it can't connect, progress is saved locally and then uploaded when there is a connection.

I have had messages like that, but not during the Monthly Challenge. Hopefully my 29th place from Poland isn't counted and my position is determined solely by the last location, Australia, which I'm okay on! I won the first event in New Zealand, so lost out on maximum points... I won't bother with another Monthly or Weekly Challenge now. No point spending time on it just for my results to disappear.

The results of the first event have disappeared and all drivers have 0 points. After finishing the second event with a terminal crash, I went back to the menu and saw that there were no times or positions for the first event! I assume this means that these challenges need to be completed in one go and that the second event's results will not exist either.

When braking on the approach to a left hairpin, I slid to the right and the back of the car ended up facing towards the turn. I probably braked a bit too late, but I've got anti-lock braking on 5 as I kept sliding under braking when I had it on a lower setting. It has also happened when I've braked in plenty of time and not mashed the trigger, but not very often. Fortunately there was a decent sized gap for the car to slide into, but when I tried to get back on the stage by doing a J-turn, but got a 14 second penalty for it. The penalty (which seems very harsh) cost me a stage win and championship points. It was near the end of a long stage so I couldn't be bothered to restart. FYI I'm using a controller. Is there something I'm doing wrong or need to do differently to stop this happening?

Connection issues AGAIN. Sort yourselves out Codemasters. "Communicating with server" at every step. I try to start a stage on My Team and it won't connect. It's pointless playing My Team now. Why does it have to rely on the internet and which bright spark thought it was a good idea?

Rain is probably my number one gripe with the game. My heart sinks a little when I see that a stage will be wet, either if it's raining or when the road is wet. It's especially bad in Spain, when the lack of grip is really frustrating. The wet tyres are terrible and none of the dry ones work well. I have to go slower just to get around the stage, but I end up so far down the leaderboard that good times on the dry stages are wasted.

Can't connect to server. Restarted console and internet, so it's definitely at Codemasters end. Please sort it.

I recently bought the Lancia Group A car in career after five seasons driving the Opel Kadett. My best finish in the Clubman championship was 6th. I've done the first three rallies of my first championship with the Lancia and I'm in 18th place. I've made mistakes which have contributed to me being down the order, but more often than not when I do a clean stage I'm also in the bottom 15. How can I be faster and maintain good control of the car? All driving and setup tips are welcome. Thanks very much.

Thanks very much. I usually have the brake bias on 50%, or as close as possible depending on what the setting for specific cars allow. How much further forward should it be?

I would like to buy the Group A Lancia in career, but it's never in stock. I've tried all the Group A cars in freeplay and the others aren't as good, so I definitely want the Lancia. The Mitsubishi has been there for a while, but the Subaru and Ford haven't popped up recently either. When I bought the Opel Kadett I'm currently using, the Lancia was there but I didn't want to move to Group A then. Will the Lancia come back or is the stock set as it is from now on?

Hi, Sorry if this has been mentioned on a previous page, but how much will the Flat Out pack be on its own? I have the standard version of the game, so would only want to buy the pack rather than the season pass.

Do those two groups stay the same every time, so if a particular category has four cars and in one rotation there's just one of them, the other three will always be in the other rotation?

This is going to sound crass (probably because it is) but if you're not happy with the engine sounds on a rally video game, it seems you have two options: 1) stop playing the game 2) buy a Skoda Fabia rally car and check out the real engine sound for yourself

Open on DR2 seems to be above 35%, as I can finish in the top five on Open in Freeplay on 35%, but unless it's a stage I'm good at in My Team I struggle to get in the top five.

How does this compare to Dirt Rally? I was much better at it than DR2, so could that be a factor?
