I've had problems driving on wet tarmac and with what tyres to use. FYI I'm driving the Opel Kadett in career, but also had the same issues with the Fiat 131. Wet tyres aren't particularly good and the car is skittish. If I use dry tyres the car is even more skittish and I have to slow down to finish a stage without spinning or crashing. I end up way down the order though. If there is a mix of wet and dry tarmac before the next service area, I end up going slowly on the dry tarmac as the wet tyres are awful on it. How can I set up the car to mitigate these things?

How can I avoid my car being skittish on the Spanish tarmac? I'm in career, driving the Fiat 131. I'm slowly getting used to the handling on gravel, but tarmac is infuriating me. I can't brake particularly hard without the car spinning or feeling nervous, I can't steer quickly without it feeling like it's about to break traction and if I go slowly I'm in the bottom part of the leaderboard. I've lowered the ride heights, which helps a bit, but I can't push the car at all. I really enjoyed the Germany stages on DR, but Spain seems so difficult. Thanks.

I've finished my first career championship and came 14th. I need more practice and to make fewer mistakes! My worry is that I'll struggle to get beyond Open, as I'm sure I read that you need to be in the top three to get promoted to the next level. Is this true? It seems rather difficult to come third in a 30 driver field. On Dirt Rally, I would just about make it to the top three, but that was in a 16 driver field!

Hi, I got Dirt Rally 2.0 for Christmas but I'm struggling with it. FYI - I play with a controller and will not be buying a wheel. I really enjoyed Dirt Rally and thought I was half-decent at it. I came 7th on Masters in career mode driving a Lancia Delta S4, after driving the same car on Elite and would usually come halfway in daily and weekly challenges, so I didn't think of myself as a beginner at these games. I struggled with Dirt Rally at first, but after changing the input settings, I got better and learned how to control the cars and finish stages without crashing. After playing Dirt Rally 2.0 for a little while, I was surprised to find that I'm not very good at it! I made a few adjustments to the input settings and the cars feel fine to drive, but I'm finishing between 18th and 20th on Very Easy. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, which is worrying because I don't know what to change! Could someone please help me?

There is only saturation and deadzone settings for throttle
-
By 'impulses' I assume you mean pressing the triggers, then releasing, then pressing? I've started doing that and I'm seeing the benefits, but DR2 seems to require less pressure than DR, which is something i'll just have to get used to. If only the game had a throttle sensitivity setting, or the triggers were harder to press to get to 100%

Okay, thanks. I was so used to not having to do that too much in DR that I'm struggling to get out of that habit. I did a two stage custom championship in Argentina on Very Easy and won. I went slow and didn't make a mistake. I then did two stages in Poland, going slow and not making mistakes, but I was 17th of 20!

How do I shift the weight effectively? I didn't have to worry too much about it in DR, so I have no idea how to actually do it! Also, what needs to be different about my braking line?

First of all, please stop comparing F1 2015 to Project Cars. They are completely different games. The former is a playable version of the current Formula 1 season and the latter is a fantasy type racing game, with no real championships or drivers. At least it has a Career Mode though... That brings me to my second point. Please stop going on and on and on about there being no Career Mode in F1 2015. The broadcast elements that Codemasters have introduced simply do not allow for a Career Mode where you can use any name. You may think that I am talking rubbish, but it is true. And anyway, do you all really have such big egos that you absolutely HAVE to have your own names on the drivers you play as? Do you feel THAT important that you simply cannot buy a racing game without being able to think that you are the driver? Fin.

GAS - Why am I only being offered contracts from the bad teams?
WestHam66 posted a topic in General Discussion
I am on season 26 of my GAS career and on level 7 on each discipline, but every contract I am I offered for new events comes from teams such as Razer and Liqui Moly. This is especially annoying in Touring and Open Wheel events as I am doing very well in these - always finishing 1st or 2nd in championships. What do I need to do to get contracts from better teams in new events? -
Can the cars and tracks in the Touring Car Legends DLC be used in Career mode?

How have I made myself look like a tosser? No zero Mum!

Why bother making an official F1 game if its going to be a half-arsed attempt
-
Totally right. It seems that the license is quite strict when it comes to altering of teams e.g using a fake name instead of Vettel and being able to have broadcast elements. Codemasters aren't just given the license and allowed to do whatever they want. Many of you will not believe me on this, but what do you expect from FOM? Formula 1 is a product and they want it used in a certain way.

Good point! I feel the pain of Sunderland fans as it was only a few years ago that we were relegated ourselves!
-
Yes, we are currently doing very, very badly. Who do you support? Just out of pure curiosity. A team near or dare I say it, at the top of the Premier League? And, yes to Operator1, I do have a big ego, as it happens.

If I stop enjoying the game after a month or so, I'll probably trade it in or sell it on. It means a chunk off FIFA 16!!

Fair enough, but I know what I know.

After reading the comments on this thread and doing a some research into the game, it seems to me that the people complaining about the lack of Career Mode on F1 2015 probably don't understand why the game mode will not be on the game. To have the pre and post race chat, podium interviews and all the rest of the good stuff that Codemasters are putting on the game, they are simply not allowed to have names other than those of the 2015 drivers. This also extends to the drivers faces for garage, grid and podium clips. You can't have all of the aforementioned things and a Career Mode, because the licence does not allow those things with a fake driver. I am looking forward to seeing how Codemasters do it, instead of moaning about it. Perhaps you should all too. Codemasters are working hard to make a top notch F1 game and if you don't like the fact that there won't be a Career Mode, then that's you're problem, because plenty of people will buy the game regardless. And no, I don't work for Codemasters.

First off, a question. If we can only race as a 2015 driver in the game, is it possible to do multiple seasons, or will it just be the 2015 season? Here are my thoughts on Career Mode (I have only played 2010 and 2012) I enjoyed progressing through the years as an F1 driver, starting at one of the bottom teams and eventually becoming a World Champion at a top team, as I did in the 2010 game. As disappointing as it is to not have a Career Mode in the 2015 game, I didn't like how the first season was the year of the game e.g. 2010 and then the next however many seasons you played just used that season's cars. I would love to see an F1 Career Challenge type game from Codemasters, but licencing issues are probably a big obstacle. The lack of Career Mode has allowed Codemasters to incorporate a lot of new features e.g. pre and post race chat and interviews. Those features couldn't be used in the seasons of CM after the first. Another licencing issue.
