Graphics are worse than 2019. Most textures are pixelated. I will create a bug report
-
I have to agree. I don’t think it’s just the brightness but actually the overall graphics. They seem to have gotten worse in comparison to last year. I’m using a 4K 120hz tv so it’s not my tv, emphasised by the fact that F1 2019 still looks amazing. A lot of the textures look pixelated. I’m on the PS4 so do I have to create a bug report? @BarryBL?

Just heard the engine sounds from FP1 & FP2 and the Ferrari sounds sooooooooo realistic. Exactly the same to the game! @issueskid well done. In fact all of the engine sounds are crazy realistic! You guys are amazing. Well done

Yeah agreed. I think it’s a bit overpowered. Aarava was able to use it for most of his new video and the whole point of CM implementing it and taking away the 2019 system was to take away the unrealistic micro management of F1 2019 but this overtake button still kind of adds that If you’re able to use it for most of the lap

Interesting that. Perez saying he couldn't turn the car. I hope with added levels of down force, they've also had a look at the understeer
-
Agreed, hope they don’t change it back. TRL Limitless said he’s played preview builds before that have felt good and they’ve changed it to something else when the game gets released.
feedback on the handling has been positive so far so fingers crossed 🤞🏾 it’s stable.

Maybe they could do to show off some of the aspects of the MyTeam mode this time around. I guess for now they know they can let the youtubers do a lot of free promotion for them which I don’t think is a bad thing. Maybe rather than a stream then Codemasters could possibly do a deep dive video that showcases stuff and talk about certain elements.
Yeah that would be really good, I agree. It would even be good if they did something similar to when they released F1 2017 and they uploaded an 100% race video at spa in the rain by David Grecco. It would be so cool if you did that codies. I'm sure alot of fans would like that

Yeah I’ve seen the video but I meant more information about the actual game or even in depth videos from youtubers like they were doing 2 weeks ago, aarava said their builds were being updated so interested/excited to know when next we’ll get information.
ive realised that as of late, Codemasters marketing strategy revolved more around giving content to youtubers as opposed to the traditional approach which to be fair I love as the youtubers go in depth on the game
excited to know more

Hi guys,
hope you’re all well. As it says in the title, just wanted to ask @BarryBL or any codies staff when we’re next going to hear more information on F1 2020?
With quarantine, I’m sure this is one thing that a lot of us are looking forward to playing/ the game being released.
I’d also Like to ask, when will the youtubers e.g aarava, TRL & Tiametmarduk be getting their updated preview builds?
The reason I ask is because aarava said in one of his videos there won’t be anymore F1 2020 videos because their builds are being updated and he said once they get updated he’ll release some videos.
thanks!

Hence why last year the Williams literally wasn't 4-5 seconds off the pace in the game when the player was driving it. The same has been said about this years game full interview is on racefans.com
As for last years game handling the Mercedes was the full package hence why every top time on the time trial leaderboard was set in one as usual. I got into the top 3% on most tracks leaderboards because of the Mercedes handling and downforce, I couldn't post those times in the Ferrari or any other car literally impossible.
Fair enough mate, Never thought about that with the Williams. Just an opinion of mine anyway!

2 minutes ago, TomAAA said:Its a GAME. You sound like a Mercedes fan boy. If we make the Merc as all powerful as you suggest, then there would be no need to compete in the game. In Grand Prix mode for example if you set it to the correct difficulty then the Merc would win by miles and you could not compete.
Its a game, they take the real data and balance it out the best they can to make it interesting and fun for all players to play.
Mate, of course it’s a GAME. but them giving Merc real life downforce levels is only just as the game aspires to have car handling/ car performance as close to real life as possible. I’m not here to tell them how to do it as it’s not my job but they’ve proven to us in the past that they can get car handling right according to the teams. In F1 2010-2013. Red Bull dominated the sport and Codemasters got their handling in the game down to the tea. Did that detter people from playing the game? I don’t think so. Did AI disappear into the distance? I don’t think so. So it’s unfair for you to say that. Codemasters always come out and reiterate there commitment to making an effort to make car performance levels as close to real life. I’m just pointing out something that is quite clear to me

11 minutes ago, SASColfer said:I recall someone looking into the game code last year and finding that the performance code for each team hadn't been changed to reflect the changes in direction the teams had taken. As you said above Mercedes were still quickest due to their engine and Ferrari were better in the aero department. As we all know that was the opposite case last year with Ferrari having the strongest engine (illegally..)
Hopefully they have made more fundamental changes this year or are planning to when the season gets underway!
Yeah thank you, I thought it was only me that realised it. Don’t think it’s fair that the Mercedes isn’t given the props for being the car it is. Has one of the highest if not the highest downforce on the grid.
this year we haven’t seen the actual season begin but it’ll be a fair assumption to say merc will have the car with the highest downforce.
I also don’t mean to come across as such a fan boy but I am a Mercedes fan and I’d love their downforce to be replicated. Codemasters have definitely got it right before, for example from F1 2010 - F1 2013. The red bull was the most stable car so, don’t think it’s fair for them to assume that the Merc is really just power, when it’s really more downforce>Power
-
8 hours ago, TactXO said:The Mercedes engine is nuts in F1 2019, just look how well Perez does on power tracks like Spa. I agree it needs to be tweaked to be more realistic.
What do you mean? I understand that it’s fast but I feel it’s more raw engine power and straight line speed. The downforce is up there with the top 3 but it’s not 3rd as demonstrated In the game
-
Hi all,
Hope you’re well!
I just wanted to bring up this discussion because it’s been something I’ve been thinking about for a while but thought hopefully in the future it would be addressed, but unfortunately it hasn’t been.
One thing I have realised since the hybrid era of games (let’s say starting in 2015) is that even though the Mercedes has dominated the season and is the fastest car by a mile. For some reason, in the game, the Mercedes is mostly fast due to its engine as opposed to having one of the best aero. Now despite me being a huge F1 fan, I’m not claiming to be an F1 expert by any means but even if we look at F1 2018 and F1 2019 the Ferrari and the Red Bull always had more downforce than the Mercedes. The Ferrari was always easier to drive and more stable let’s say. Based on watching F1, in my opinion I feel like this is quite far from the truth and if anything the Mercedes should only be second the the Red Bull and if it is second, that should be by a very small margin. Commentators such as Brundle and Crofty always talk about how planted the Mercedes looks but for some reason even though In game it is the fastest car, the downforce never really replicates the real life performance.
Of course, I do understand that this season we haven’t even got up and away yet so it’s quite hard to tell but I really hope that the developers take a look at this and fix it for 2020, as it can only be expected that Mercedes are going to pick up where they left off.
this is just my opinion and I understand that I may be wrong so I’d love to hear all of your perspectives 🙂
@BarryBL I’m so sorry I tag you in soo much stuff haha but I’d appreciate if you could pass this into the team 😄
thanks guys!

This is such a good idea. With these ‘fake’ sponsors this year. Are we able to put them on our helmets?
CM please allow us to do this because it’s very boring having nothing

The unique Mercedes Turbowhistle Sound is so crisp and distinct in real life video footages.
Sadly Codemasters has never been able to recreate it faithfully til this day. Even in the Preview footage of F1 2020 the game, the Mercedes engine sound is still missing this Turbowhistle. In the game it is not as audible or pronounced as it should be
Hopefully the audio team of Codemasters will make some improvements before release, or at least during the dev cycle, for as long as F1 2020 is being actively supported with patches and updates.
#MakeMercedesEngineSoundGreatAgain
(Maybe it's because Codemasters possibly changes up the audio mix differently, compared to the audio mix of TV Broadcasters.)
Really hope that they fix the downshift tones for the Mercedes. It kind of sounds very computerised in comparison to the Renault. Is there any way you guys can review this? @issueskid

For the first time you can really tell they're actual recordings, love the aggression in the downshifts and the exhaust roars from tv. This will seriously increase my fun of driving them, great job 🙂
if I have some criticism, I'd say the Mercedes engine's woosh/screeching noise under downshifts sounds a little weird and over the top on the right channel, it really stands out, without that noise being so apparent in the mix I'd say the Mercedes sounds great as well.
Agree 100%. Good advice. Hopefully with the work in progress they can refine it more.

At this stage of the game. Seeing as though sound is something you get early on. How much changes from this build to the release build?
really interested to get an insight

Great job mate. Was great to hear the sounds. The Renault sounds absolutely amazing!
i have no clue how you could make the merc, Honda and Ferrari sound just as realistic as the Renault but kudos!

You love to hear it! Thanks for the hard work and taking on the community advise for making the onboard sound more close to the tv mix.
can’t wait to hear the raw engine sounds without music.
Me personally, just waiting to hear the 2020 Mercedes 😍

To be fair, guy tell me if i'm being dramatic but I still think the downforce levels need to be improved. Reason I say so is because im assuming that PJ did his lap on time trial right? meaning that despite the set up it was a low fuel run with the fastest tyres. As previously stated, the Lando was doing a 1:17.3 in qualy for the Spanish GP in 2019. Now, I don't that its fair to say based on set up and PJ not playing F1 that often that the car is more than 2 seconds slower. PJ is quite quick from what I saw and if the cars have enough downforce then it should be a little closer to that time if you ask me.
Not in any way trying to be negative or anything but similar to all of you, I just want an authentic experience and don't want to experience the same thing in 2019 where the cars were much slower than real life and because CM thought the change in front wings would lead to dramatic reduces in downforce, which wasn't the case. I'd say that even after the patch that gave the cars more downforce, they still weren't as planted as they should've been.
@BarryBL I know you can't confirm or deny anything about the game but please take the grip and downforce levels into account. Don't want to come across as if i'm ranting. This is just something I'm passionate about.

So Dirt 5 is next gen but not F1 2020

Forgot to add stuff
This is a good point. Will we get any clarification on this @BarryBL?
Next gen consoles are so much more powerful so maybe it’ll be possible to get the same graphical fidelity as PC and perhaps run on ultra settings?
Normally you’re really good at replying so your silence could perhaps mean something… haha 🙂
