I'm playing on console (Xbox), is there an easy way to do it? I feel like they were a good baseline and I'd rather start working on the 2020 from somewhere, rather from scratch.
Thanks

Don't be absurd. Who needs or uses telemetry in Formula 1? It's incredibly simple sport and nobody relies on data. My local blacksmith is producing Mercedes' chassis and aero parts :smiley:Bobino12 said:There's also an important element missing from those GP4 years in the Codemasters games : TELEMETRY
PS: 6 years on and F1 game without telemetry is criminal. FFS Codies! Games like Forza Horizon 2 (open-world!) have telemetry. Is it so hard to implement? -
I am talking about past titles. Which were also released much later in the season.dirt3joe said:
How could they when the cars have only been out 3-4 months ? Non of the teams are going to give them access to that sort of data, and certainly any time available for collecting it would want to be used by the teams instead for testing. My guess is they moan enough at just having to give out the surface models.VDV23 said:
That would be true if CM bothered to make the F1 cars accurately. They are simply tiered into 6-7 categories. It's not like they spend hundreds of hours researched downforce levels, mechanical grip and tyre usage of the different cars.dirt3joe said:
Not strange at all. F1 has what, 20 cars. CM has probably had access to car data since end of march. So not very long.ivesdeblieck said:Strange how you can compare the development time of project cars with F1 2015.
It took Project Cars 4 years to bring the game out, F1 2015 is being worked on since 2012 so 2/3 years. F1 has a type of car, Formula 1 (or Formula A), project cars has 60 different cars or. Project Cars has 30 locations with variations. Project Cars has game modes, F1 2015 has not.
So Codemasters spent 3 years on the development of 1 car, 20 tracks, 1 game mode and an online multiplayer. And still managed to get it delayed...
In fact it doesn't take that much time to graphically model the cars. It's the engine and underlying sim aspects that take all the dev time. Development time is not going to scale in a linear way as a function of cars and tracks.
And pcars was delayed, what, three times ? Once for over 6 months. -

Can you into some more detail why the information is so scarce as of now? Content not polished enough to be showed? Also a couple of more questions if you have the info
1) Are setups more in depth?
2) Is the damage model improved and if yes is there a hardcore damage model (FW into tyre -> puncture)
3) Are the cars in tier systems or their stats have more depth to them. For example the Red Bull is strong on the high downforce circuits, the Williams has good aerodynamic efficiency on the straights, the McLaren breaks down before leaving the garage () and so on? Or are they universal like they used to do - if the Red Bull is Tier 1 car it will be as strong on Singapore (relative to the other cars) as it is on Monza? -
On the bright side (for you, at least) you can use only 2 phrases and still be extremely effective Community Manager by Codemasters' standards.LiteralZero said:
Well played, should've known that would happen when I picked this gamertag all those years ago :wink:VDV23 said:I feel for LiteralZero, to be honest. Complete honesty, it's a pretty odd situation for me as I'm still new here so I'm still earning an awful lot about what is going on and the processes, so I take the 'better safe than sorry' approach to things.
1. We will provide more information soon
2. I am not at liberty to say just yet

Well, people will stop talking about PCars 'very soon' as well.
Whatever that means in the CM dictionary. -

I very much doubt that. I'm guessing they didn't have time to implement it which is actually pretty absurd considering how shallow the Career mode has been for years.nosalisCZ said:maybe they did survey and only 5% people uses career mode with their own driver :-/
this is very bad decision, you're suppose to add to the game, not remove
Just look at the most popular F1 youtuber (Tiametmarduk) and his most frequent content - he's doing Career mode. -
If 2K were to pick up the F1 franchise I'd be very happy. They have consistently shown that they understand the core of the sports games they pick up (UFC, NBA) while providing a lot of depth. EA - nah. They are just money making machine, I doubt we'd see much better game that the CM one, it would just be much better marketed.Andi said:I highly doubt EA would be stupid enough to do that with a Formula 1 game (look at their previous titles) as they already have need for speed as an arcade racing game. At least with EA or 2K there would be some sort of consistency and variety of games modes, which is what a lot of people want.
Personally I'd like to see Formula 1 2k17, the quality of NBA 2k games and the base they set with WWE 2k15 shows that they can pick up a sports game and make quality games. Don't forget NFL 2k games as well, they were better than Madden. -
I wouldn't say FIFA is a good sports, it just appeals to a larger audience. The game itself is incredibly arcadey and completely glances over things like formations, midfield control, playing styles, etc. It's end-to-end stuff and fun, that's why so many people play it, not because of its depth.AMS97KRR said:I know EAis far richer and larger, but they seem to consistently produce good sports games year in, year out. As I've said, CM needs to get the core of the game perfect, then branch out. If they perfect the core, it will only need minor additions each year. Thus far they have not improved that core. They just add new modes which are then dropped. literally all 2010 to 2012/2013 should have been about was perfecting Career and a good MP mode.
FIFA has a solid online and career mode that have been perfected over a number of years. Career mode has been awesome for years, only recently has it needed updating desperately. They haven't really changed too much since 2008ish. Because they made something that holds the interest and is high quality. It was not half arsed and "good enough". Which is how the current F1 career mode feels. And of course this allowed them to branch out to Ultimate team, which is now a huge money generator. CM need to do this.
EA, as obnoxious company they are, if they pull their resources they can actually make decent games. However, this hardly ever happens. Their UFC games it miles behind Yuke/THQ's, Madden sucks, NBA Live 15 is not qualified to shine NBA 2k15's shoes, etc. EA won't be my preferred choice for developer of F1 2015, not by a long stretch. -
My inside source tells me that @mmpaw37 has no inside source. -
Okay, in that case I'll do my best to ignore his nonsense. :DPeteTheDuck said:Can we please try and keep it civil guys
@VDV23 I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe there is currently an ignore function on the forum. I'll check with the admins but yeah, I'm pretty sure there isn't, sorry. -
Yep, I'm done bothering to read your utter tosh.
Is there an ignore function in the forum? -

lol. :dizzy:
Yep...This is the one I was informed about...
Get out of here with that nonsense. You're a liar plain and simple.I was informed of the preview delay about a week ago...
End of line...
Carry on. -
Maybe FOM are yet to approve the release date :D :D >:)
Anyway, I have no problem with the game being delayed. The industry has seen enough unfinished games to make it to retail and it's not pleasant. But CM's shameful approach to the whole thing and lack of any info (hell, we're even learning about the delay from a youtuber/journalist, not CM themselves) is just beyond a joke. -
There is DRS (and KERS) on pCars :smiley:Tourgott said:This game is so awesome. Just did 53 laps Monza race.
Despite being much harder than CM's F1 games I can do much more consistent laps. I guess it's because you can feel what the car is doing and there's actually a realistic handling model behind it.
AI on lap 1 is awful (aggressiv) but after that it's fantastic. I raced behind the leader by 0,9 seconds lap after lap and couldn't get closer. That's like in the old fantastic days when there was no DRS bullshit.
I love it. :)
Anyway, it's fantastic fantastic game. I'm playing with a controller (as I can't afford a wheel) and after some adjusting now I'm finding consistency. I won Formula Gulf and moved to Formula C and the jump was just...wow. First race @ Snetterton, couldn't complete a lap in my first 10 attempts haha. Then I started doing 1.52s initially which then dropped to 1.50s. Put the time in and now I'm doing 1.48s -
And some guys have the audacity to say that the CM forum is pointless and useless. Nonsense! If it wasn't for this forum you wouldn't have considered pCars! :smiley:Gav25182 said:I hadn't really paid much attention to PCars, but after you lot were banging on about it, I've done a bit of research.
WOW. Do whatever you want in whichever race car you want whenever you want. Customise whatever, create your own race weekends, I can put practice sessions in (CM will hate me!). Read the reviews, not a bad review out there, they love it. It's brilliant.
Wow, that is the way to make a game. They asked the community what they wanted, listened, then gave it them. After the Spanish GP qualifying, I am popping to Tescos to buy it.
That CM, is how to make and market a game.

The fact that F1 2014 got approved for release makes me think that FOM couldn't care less about the game. -

Wow, CM better step it up. Just played pCars and it is absolutely amazing. Started in Formula Gulf and working my way up to F1/FA. So much depth in the game - setups, session options, handling - the game is lovely. And the AI (although a bit too aggressive sometimes) is really great and fun to race with.
If CM don't deliver as usual I can definitely see myself skipping F1 2015 now that I have a real alternative for single-seater racing game on my console. -
The vote of confidence should be deserved, not arbitrary. After the abomination F1 2014 was, CM must be fighting for customers' approval and faith in them, not hang them out to dry. For every step forward they have taken in the last 4-5 years, each they have taken a step back. Plus essential stuff like AI, setups, sidepod glitch and handling physics have never reached a point where you can say they are satisfying. Instead of creating hype by giving us info they are conducting some kind of a silent marketing as if their previous work was of the highest quality.
F1 2014 was unfinished and rushed as much as Battlefield 4 but at least DICE are still supporting it 18 months after release. CM barely touched it.
I find it laughable that the most substantial piece of information was actually leaked and we were not supposed to see it. And we 5 weeks away from release, are you kidding me? -
Well, we don't know what direction F1 is going, do we? Past experience says arcade, paid media articles says more focus on sim (sim-acde actually). Truth is, on next-gen consoles currently there isn't an open-wheel game and part of the Pcars demographic no doubt aligns with F1's. Just take a look at popular F1 youtubers and see how many of them are playing/testing/making videos about Pcars. While different experience and focus, the game is certainly not far from the F1 niche.Tourgott said:VDV23 said:So somebody mentioned that Pcars and F1 share the same publisher (Bandai Namco) earlier and I am thinking out loud here, so bear with me.
Pcars is being released on the 7th of May, I'm guessing Bandai are putting pressure on CM (or out right telling them, I'm not sure how their relationship works) to not promote F1 right not as it may mean losing on Pcars sales. I'm expecting that F1's marketing campaign will start after the 7th (possibly a week or two later so customers on the fence don't go the other way). Then I'm guessing they hope F1's huge global appeal, especially in Europe and Asia, to carry the sales of the game for them.
And here's a wishful thought if I ever had one: Bandai feel that F1 2015 has enough quality (+ the already existing appeal of F1) to be able to pull off a successful short campaign without hurting the sales figures.

Safety car & backmarkers
in Suggestions
Posted
I was contemplating whether this should go into the technical assistance but I wouldn't say it's a 'bug' but rather an oversight which has been around for quite some time, probably F1 2016.
Here's the situation: I'm running 3s in front of my teammate and Magnussen. Both of them are being lapped by the leader; before Leclerc laps me - a safety car comes out. I pass the SC and go round while my teammate & Kevin get stuck behind Charles and the SC. So my 3s gap suddently turns into 1 minutes and 40 seconds.
I had this happen in 2016 but in the last few interations of F1, I have started in midfield teams hence it wasn't really occured. I realize it that would be affecting us guys who do 100% races more compared to the more popular 50% distance, however it can be quite annoying when it happens. But if the backmarker-SC logic is fixed (and they can unlap themselves), everyone would benefit. How many times a backmarker has ruined the SC restart by not going out of the way or something like that. I guess to summarize my suggestions - lapped cars should unlap themselves under the SC as the rules were changed in 2013.
