  1. This is something that I never in the previous 5 editions of Codies' F1 games. Why on Earth a telemetry was no included in the game? This is F1 we are talking about here, a place where everything has a sensor on it (excluding Alonso' steering rack at McLaren, apparently). Will we finally see an appearance of it in F1 2015?
  2. Don't be absurd. Who needs or uses telemetry in Formula 1? It's incredibly simple sport and nobody relies on data. My local blacksmith is producing Mercedes' chassis and aero parts   PS: 6 years on and F1 game without telemetry is criminal. FFS Codies! Games like Forza Horizon 2 (open-world!) have telemetry. Is it so hard to implement?

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Not strange at all. F1 has what, 20 cars. CM has probably had access to car data since end of march. So not very long. In fact it doesn't take that much time to graphically model the cars. It's the engine and underlying sim aspects that take all the dev time. Development time is not going to scale in a linear way as a function of cars and tracks. And pcars was delayed, what, three times ? Once for over 6 months. That would be true if CM bothered to make the F1 cars accurately. They are simply tiered into 6-7 categories. It's not like they spend hundreds of hours researched downforce levels, mechanical grip and tyre usage of the different cars.  How could they when the cars have only been out 3-4 months ? Non of the teams are going to give them access to that sort of data, and certainly any time available for collecting it would want to be used by the teams instead for testing. My guess is they moan enough at just having to give out the surface models.  I am talking about past titles. Which were also released much later in the season.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Can you into some more detail why the information is so scarce as of now? Content not polished enough to be showed? Also a couple of more questions if you have the info 1) Are setups more in depth? 2) Is the damage model improved and if yes is there a hardcore damage model (FW into tyre -> puncture)  3) Are the cars in tier systems or their stats have more depth to them. For example the Red Bull is strong on the high downforce circuits, the Williams has good aerodynamic efficiency on the straights, the McLaren breaks down before leaving the garage () and so on? Or are they universal like they used to do - if the Red Bull is Tier 1 car it will be as strong on Singapore (relative to the other cars) as it is on Monza?

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Well played, should've known that would happen when I picked this gamertag all those years ago   Complete honesty, it's a pretty odd situation for me as I'm still new here so I'm still earning an awful lot about what is going on and the processes, so I take the 'better safe than sorry' approach to things. On the bright side (for you, at least) you can use only 2 phrases and still be extremely effective Community Manager by Codemasters' standards. 1. We will provide more information soon 2. I am not at liberty to say just yet  :#

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

I feel for LiteralZero, to be honest. He's trying to keep us happy but he's LITERALLY given ZERO ( get it? ) information and permission from above to tell us something meaningful.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

Well, people will stop talking about PCars 'very soon' as well.  Whatever that means in the CM dictionary.

    F1 2015 No Career mode??

I very much doubt that. I'm guessing they didn't have time to implement it which is actually pretty absurd considering how shallow the Career mode has been for years.  Just look at the most popular F1 youtuber (Tiametmarduk) and his most frequent content - he's doing Career mode.

    Announcing F1 2015

If 2K were to pick up the F1 franchise I'd be very happy. They have consistently shown that they understand the core of the sports games they pick up (UFC, NBA) while providing a lot of depth. EA - nah. They are just money making machine, I doubt we'd see much better game that the CM one, it would just be much better marketed.

    Announcing F1 2015

I wouldn't say FIFA is a good sports, it just appeals to a larger audience. The game itself is incredibly arcadey and completely glances over things like formations, midfield control, playing styles, etc. It's end-to-end stuff and fun, that's why so many people play it, not because of its depth.  EA, as obnoxious company they are, if they pull their resources they can actually make decent games. However, this hardly ever happens. Their UFC games it miles behind Yuke/THQ's, Madden sucks, NBA Live 15 is not qualified to shine NBA 2k15's shoes, etc. EA won't be my preferred choice for developer of F1 2015, not by a long stretch.

    Announcing F1 2015

Yep...This is the one I was informed about... So your secret that was going to make everyone happy was the game was going to get delayed?  Get out of here with that nonsense. You're a liar plain and simple.  I was informed of the preview delay about a week ago... End of line... Your pathetic and desperate attention seeking is hilarious. Carry on.

    Announcing F1 2015

Maybe FOM are yet to approve the release date  :D :D >:) Anyway, I have no problem with the game being delayed. The industry has seen enough unfinished games to make it to retail and it's not pleasant. But CM's shameful approach to the whole thing and lack of any info (hell, we're even learning about the delay from a youtuber/journalist, not CM themselves) is just beyond a joke.

Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

There is DRS (and KERS) on pCars   Anyway, it's fantastic fantastic game. I'm playing with a controller (as I can't afford a wheel) and after some adjusting now I'm finding consistency. I won Formula Gulf and moved to Formula C and the jump was just...wow. First race @ Snetterton, couldn't complete a lap in my first 10 attempts haha. Then I started doing 1.52s initially which then dropped to 1.50s. Put the time in and now I'm doing 1.48s

Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

And some guys have the audacity to say that the CM forum is pointless and useless. Nonsense! If it wasn't for this forum you wouldn't have considered pCars!

The fact that F1 2014 got approved for release makes me think that FOM couldn't care less about the game.

Can F1 2015 be close to Project Cars

Wow, CM better step it up. Just played pCars and it is absolutely amazing. Started in Formula Gulf and working my way up to F1/FA. So much depth in the game - setups, session options, handling - the game is lovely. And the AI (although a bit too aggressive sometimes) is really great and fun to race with.  If CM don't deliver as usual I can definitely see myself skipping F1 2015 now that I have a real alternative for single-seater racing game on my console.

    Announcing F1 2015

The vote of confidence should be deserved, not arbitrary. After the abomination F1 2014 was, CM must be fighting for customers' approval and faith in them, not hang them out to dry. For every step forward they have taken in the last 4-5 years, each they have taken a step back. Plus essential stuff like AI, setups, sidepod glitch and handling physics have never reached a point where you can say they are satisfying. Instead of creating hype by giving us info they are conducting some kind of a silent marketing as if their previous work was of the highest quality.  F1 2014 was unfinished and rushed as much as Battlefield 4 but at least DICE are still supporting it 18 months after release. CM barely touched it.  I find it laughable that the most substantial piece of information was actually leaked and we were not supposed to see it. And we 5 weeks away from release, are you kidding me?

    Announcing F1 2015

Well, we don't know what direction F1 is going, do we? Past experience says arcade, paid media articles says more focus on sim (sim-acde actually). Truth is, on next-gen consoles currently there isn't an open-wheel game and part of the Pcars demographic no doubt aligns with F1's. Just take a look at popular F1 youtubers and see how many of them are playing/testing/making videos about Pcars. While different experience and focus, the game is certainly not far from the F1 niche.

    Announcing F1 2015

So somebody mentioned that Pcars and F1 share the same publisher (Bandai Namco) earlier and I am thinking out loud here, so bear with me. Pcars is being released on the 7th of May, I'm guessing Bandai are putting pressure on CM (or out right telling them, I'm not sure how their relationship works) to not promote F1 right not as it may mean losing on Pcars sales. I'm expecting that F1's marketing campaign will start after the 7th (possibly a week or two later so customers on the fence don't go the other way). Then I'm guessing they hope F1's huge global appeal, especially in Europe and Asia, to carry the sales of the game for them.  And here's a wishful thought if I ever had one: Bandai feel that F1 2015 has enough quality (+ the already existing appeal of F1) to be able to pull off a successful short campaign without hurting the sales figures.
