Please dont fix it. It's better to have some consequences for your actions, one could almost call it a feature.  Edit: Do you get time penalized for not stopping to marshall. How does it work in RL. (Hopefully not like in the video) You're fu*****. You have to give the time card to write up your stage time. No note = DNF AFAIK. PS. It may depend on the timing type: http://www.rallymatcher.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=974 Thank for this info! Could be nice to get somekind of time penalty in D4, maybe at hardest difficulty level even DNF (maybe that would be too harsh..) It seems that crashing and damage after finish is carried to next stages which is good.

This technology could be done in future and probably would be very good for rally sims. So your idea is not bad in my opionion, even if it might seem far fetched for now. Stages would not have to even perfect representation of real life at first to still have benefits. With skilled devs & mountains of money something called VBS Blue could probably be one option even near future. Let see if this link works (n00b alert) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKoJcpBmRE8&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Sure, simulation. They've talked like that about 5 and 6 too.  I did kind of Leg system for my own championship by saving stage & loading it to another slot later. You could even change the time etc. Hope this helps Btw. I do wish we could have 20+ stages in event to do proper leg-system like WRC. One for the future

@KickUp Yeah I have to second this (I made a thread about it before I saw it had already been mentioned here), and hope it's a bug rather than by design because it would be seriously disappointing if this couldn't be changed. I'm fine with the Fearless preset being an "ultimate" difficulty where everything is turned off and can't be changed, all I want really is to be able to select 'Brutal' AI at lower, custom difficulty settings. Its by design but that doesn't mean it can't be changed. Ok, thanks for the reply! I've never known a racing game to say "you can have this higher AI difficulty, but *if and only if* you don't use these aids/assists/camera options" - or at least I can't think of another game that doesn't treat your driving experience and the AI separately in this way. And indeed the game already doesn't do this outside of Fearless - with Competent through to Tough AI all being freely selectable at Racer, Pro or Champion difficulties. So I do hope it can be changed! Again to be clear I appreciate the point of Fearless, and would understand if you were reluctant to change it given how it's integrated into the career - literally all I would like is the ability to have Brutal AI and bonnet cam selected at the same time, haha. So the option to select Brutal AI within Racer, Pro or Champion would be grand. :) Understood. We don't blindly follow other racing games and we like to try new things. Not everything works for everyone so that is why we experiment sometimes.  Fearless is good idea, but i have to also say that many seem to be wanting more challenge from AI than tough now offers, so maybe one for the future to give couple difficulty levels more? Many things in peoples setups / rigs might rule out using cockpit cam. Would be nice to give some idea for Fearless could work even with opening Brutal AI, but right now nothing comes to mind  Important: @KickUp  One thing you must try to fix for Fearless to even work for some of us is that BUG: where while using cockpit cam in rainy stages causes game to freeze and PC to crash / freeze, with force restart needed. Without fix Fearless is sadly literary un-playable.  Ps. Enjoying the game really much this far, all the drama from my mistakes and the challenge of being fearless and trusting your co-driver (i'm not too fast so no problems for me with AI difficulty, tough being perfect for me). Great work&game Codies!

+1  Try Bonnet cam before fix, works for me. Skip replays on rainy stages also because they freeze the game too

I would also like to know is there differences and what under the hood, and do rally cars also use same Cooper tire model & info that is used in RX or something else. Wrote this on another thread also, but i'm just curious about this. Game itself will be great anyway, but to me there is just something wonderful to know how things work and why. That's why the curiosity. (Especially when people are praising RX, and you would think the handling be the same with Rally (gravel & tarmac in both), but those are quite different cars though...) Edit: now just read about Dirtfish areaa gravel feeling different. Interesting Umm.. anybody that has the game. Was there a way to make your own "stages" to Dirtfish area, or is my memory pulling tricks on me again.? Some timed events or similar Dirtfish contains mostly tarmac plus what I would assume tarmac with some loose gravel over it. There is also a section with more gravel, but I guess it's a different type of gravel to what's on the actual stages. It's great fun throwing the cars around in Dirtfish, I can do that all day long :) That sounds great! Dirtfish is something i'm waiting quite a lot. Hoping to do some cross-class rally testing there. Choosing routes as stages, timing them (old school if i need to) while driving different car classes to see which is fastest overall.  Can R5 win RX cars, how fast will crosscarts be etc.

The Cooper tyre model is only used in RX. It's a crossply tyre and is quite different to what is used in Rally and Landrush.  Thanks for the quick answer again and bringing these facts up.  It's really great to see the amount of work done to make it correct especially when it is so unique to RX vs other disciplines in the game. I think it shows some serious dedication from the devs side! And i have now learned something new again! Would you like or consider to work similarly in-depth what you did with Cooper, with some manufacturer regarding Rally tires in future or have you even already done so?

Just curious. Were you doing sim mode with no assets at all either? Was driving in sim mode with no assists on at all. It's weird though, the physics in rallycross and landrush are good, rallying is something else. This made me wonder. People talking quite much about having too much grip so, could it have something to do with Rallycross using very detailed modelling of Cooper tyres (if i remember correctly, some RX driver even mentioned that new tyre modelling makes huge difference compared to DR).. maybe in Rally those tyre models aren't used? Or does there seem to be more differences in physics overall? Any IRL rally drivers here could elaborate this situation more, is the feeling too different from real grip with modern tyres? I won't comment anything more without testing this game, but with Dirt rally and other sims i've noticed that your FFB & wheel settings have their own (big) role on how "physics" feels and how your car seems to behave, etc. getting car into powersliding and controlling it. Depending how those are set, atleast for me made it possible to powerslide in Dirt Rally at all and before that i just could not make it happen without loosing rear or understeering. FOV have it's own role too, especially when playing on big screen. Wheel response feels sluggish or fast depending how it is set-up. This said, i don't question that there could be some underlying physics problems, which of course are worrying if it's so...

That degree of rotation and level of driving :'(  I know. Barely worth posting :/ Here's a new IGN video though. The rain is looking impressive :) https://twitter.com/IGN/status/867837741110763522 I was trying to tell if they were using Gamer or not, Cisco looked like it was Sim but not sure That roll we see from the heli view looks awesome though :) Crashes have been upgraded ;) For a moment there, when the car was rolling it looked so real it felt weird  Matrix stuff..  So, good work! I also thought that car looked quite natural at times in its behaviour, like somebody was practicing with real Mitsu.

It is really nice choice to have between being a hired rally driver or to have your own team! Now i've started to wonder can you still receive contracts etc. from sponsors or other teams even if you have your own team, so you could go for a factory seat or single events (and you could drive cars you don't have money or they are in a class were you don't have a car). It would be nice to get noticed by another team also ;) Edit: can't wait to play D4 career!

More gossip about career mode would be fun to hear and single player in generel as it is shadowed by online stuff (understandable). I wonder if your sponsor reputation can be so bad that they will not sponsor you anymore? @KickUp Now that there will be multiple classes in rallyes, will we get to see some longtime rivalries to come up with AI cars (same names but changing teams etc.), or is there even somekind of rivalry system similar to F1 2016 built in?
