  1. Usually when you are pushed off the track it's rare for you to gain an advantage (quite the opposite I find) so you shouldn't find yourself getting a corner cutting penalty.

If on the off chance you do gain an advantage you will still get a penalty applied.

  2. Having launched alongside DiRT Showdown back in 2012, it’s crazy to think that RaceNet is over two years old already. New games have arrived and with each one the service continues to evolve. We’re now on the brink of releasing GRID Autosport to the world, and with it, our best RaceNet support to date.

We’ve got a host of great RaceNet features, from the familiar stat tracking to the brand new RaceNet Clubs, which is one feature we think you’re going to absolutely love. But enough talk, let’s dive into the details.

League play is something we're all for supporting, @Hatta has done some great stuff with F1 and it's very much on my mind for GRID Autosport, in fact I've been talking to leagues since we announced.

A number of leagues have been talking to us for a while now and it looks like we may have 1-3 high profiled and well established leagues racing within Autosport and I'm sure more will join in once they get hands on with the game.

The club feature is also going to be great for this.

I've not gone anywhere, since announce I've been easy to find and if you ever wanted to talk then I'm just a private message away. I think I've had 1 email from Race Department since we unveiled the game, if you want us to support you it has to be a two way discussion.

I'd disagree with a lot of your third paragraph, for instance we've had a few leagues come in and talk to about the game, what they'd like to see from us to help support them, they've played the game, given us feedback.

  4. Just a heads up but Autosport will be at E3 next week. Ill be there with it and as a side effect I'll be slightly out of action and there may be delays in getting back to you.

Have no fear though as @justbiglee and @Hatta will be stopping by and helping out around these parts.

Regular service will be resumed in a week's time :)

@Loore: When can we expect the info for the club and livery design? Will there be another indepth article like we had for AI, damage and visual effects? Miss them a bit.
I'm working on a RaceNet article at this very moment in time, that will include clubs :)

As for liveries, I'll probably show this off on a live stream, a lot easier that in text.

Quick question, because this is something that bothered me on Grid 2.

Is it possible to change settings such as assists, (( transmission, stability control, ABS, etc )) in a session lobby or during the practice or qualifying sessions (( both online and offline? ))

I ask this because, whilst I predominantly drive with manual gears there are a few cars (such as the Audi R8 and BAC Mono) that I can't and have to drive auto if I ever want to set good lap times with them. Similarly it looks like I may be wanting to use traction control to begin with on the faster touring/open wheel cars, but I don't want to have to back out of the lobby to be able to change it like I have to on Grid 2.

So, is it possible? Or do I have to quit game lobbies to do it?
Yes, that's possible. You can change those settings in the paddock area :)

It goes Lobby > Paddock > Race

@Loore‌ is there any chance of some gameplay or screenshots of the V8 supercars? Holden and ford :)
I'm looking at putting out a V8s around Bathurst video soon :)
Proper HQ cockpit cams? Only blurries in videos so far, so can we expect "Grid 1 like", cockpit cams in final game?
What you see is like in the final game. Is worth noting that some cockpits are more detailed than others.

  8. Unlike the Touring Car discipline where drivers aren’t afraid to rub a little paint now and then, Open Wheel is all about avoiding contact as the fragile nature of the cars mean only the faintest of touches is required to put a dent in your hopes of a podium.

Slipstream is also more prominent within the Open Wheel discipline, making it a valuable tool in your arsenal as you look to progress up the field. As useful as it may be, you still have to be wary; dropping into the slipstream of the car ahead may give you an overtaking opportunity but your usual braking distance at a corner will have changed, get that wrong and it could be into the gravel trap, run off area, or worse.
