  1. Just heard from the team and they've confirmed that AI difficulty has had a few tweaks since the preview build (which is where all the videos are coming from). The team have spent a lot of late hours working on the AI, one of the difficulties this time around is because of how organic they are, in terms of their behaviour on the track.

The AI is now super-competitive on very hard, and harder across the board, with performance in line with our benchmark times - good luck :)

We talk a little about the work that goes into the AI over on the blog.

I actually like they have gone more realistic with the sense of speed. That might mean handling getting little bit more serious than in the first Grid, and It actually feels that way while watching those last HQ videos
yeah it does  I've got to say looks like they've done a fantastic job with Yas Marina again looks awesome at night when watching F1 an it looks like they've recaptured that again for the Endurance love racing that track whoever put the Abu Dhabi track together deserves a pat on the back it looks awesome. I just hope my driving skills measure up would have had my team mate on the attack a bit moer in that vid but only because I'd have wanted a 1-2 :p
Bit of further info on Yas here http://blog.codemasters.com/grid/05/the-vfx-of-yas-marina/

Can you give us details on the Steam preorder Loore, or you're going to make us wait? Hehe!

I don't want to jinx anything so will let you wait, shouldn't be long :)

Black Edition will be a part of it though.
    how long, is not long?
We're hoping they'll go online later tonight :)

    @Assiemodis

The "Available in June" green bar is very much a release date thing :)

Impressive track list, but conspicuous by their absence are the GRID tracks:

Donington, Nurburgring GP, Shibuya and Detroit (street).

    Frank
    PC/keyboard, offline single player.
While we may have some data on the tracks already due to their age some of our tracks from GRID would have required a lot of extra work to bring them up to 2014 quality, some rebuilt entirely.

It's only six years but the difference is huge, take a look at San Fran side by side for example in both Race Driver: GRID and GRID Autosport.

  5. Hi Loore, are there car upgrades in single player races too? Or every car in single player has fixed stats?
Yup, single player has upgrades, the types of upgrade depend entirely on the team, the car and discipline. It's not a one sized fits all solution across the board.

Sound is great, handling looks ok, etc. However, I'm afraid this game will again fall short on tracks, like It has been happening to every single CM tittle developed under EGO engine.

Also, the many different disciplines could make each of them feel lackluster once more. Precisely, the lack of tracks has always had a lot to do regarding this issue.

Do we have an offical track list available yet, specially for each discipline?
You've got the biggest track list in a GRID game to date, more circuits than Race Driver and GRID 2 combined. With 22 locations in the game you won't be getting bored any time soon.

Out of interest, how many tracks would you be wanting in a game?

Each track is used across various disciplines, just like in the real world.
More than Race Driver and GRID 2 combined? I assume you mean Race Driver GRID, not the ToCA Race Drivers, as the last one of them boasted something like 70 tracks on the back of the box... (okay so many were variations)...
    Yup, that'll be GRID :)

What is the logic behind endurance races ending as soon as the timer runs out rather than finishing the current lap? I thought the whole concept of racing is who crosses the line first.
It's a timed event based on distance.

It's not about laps as such, but the distance driven at the end of the countdown.

Is the wear-and-tear aspect of the cars only for online? Because if you're racing for professional teams offline, you'd think that they'd rebuild everything on the car on a regular basis.
Yes, online only and for the exact reason you've given :)

  10. Great gesture Rastus. Nice one Loore.

Happy to hear about the handling and some tracks like IST or Spa :)

Grid 1.2 wet dream coming true?

PS. Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is Interlagos! Hope Okutama is a version from G1 and Barcelona is a F1 track :)

Interlagos isn't in the game unfortunately. It was a place holder but sadly it never came to be.

Barcelona is a street track, racing open wheels around it is great fun :)
