The fact we announced GRID Autosport over a month ago is a bit of a scary thought but the launch being less than four weeks away is all kinds of exciting (if also a little scary).
One of our core objectives this time around was that we didn’t want to keep anybody in the dark, from day one we’ve been as open and honest as possible, while sharing as much information on the game as we possibly could, “We’re not talking about that yet” isn’t something we like to say all that often.
So while we’ve been busy talking about the game it’s possible that you may have missed something, it’s ok, we don’t hold it against you, the internet is a big place after all. If you have missed anything then you’ve come to the right place.
Here’s the recap of everything we’ve talked about so far!

No, you'd think that if you go to Texas you'd find somewhere that sold one, but I didn't. I did find a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader outfit but passed on that.McRoss1966 said:...a tad off topic. Did Lee get his cowboy-hat :? -
We're working on some nice gameplay videos right now :)P308R said:@LooreI have seen quite a few gameplay videos but I was wondering when are we going to see some content that is not entry-level discipline? All the footage shown is from the debut series of every discipline.Hope you guys are going to put up another indepth article or a behind the scene article as well. I enjoy those a lot. -

The GT40 is an absolute beast on the track, what a car! -
You can turn camera shake off, or tone it down depending on your preference :)Set it at 0% all the way up to to 100% in 10% increments. -
Hard to imagine that the first GRID came out 6 years ago this week! To celebrate I'm collecting thoughts and feedback from everyone regarding the game, and I know a few of you here have some strong feelings for the game.In short, what made the game special to you? -
Working on it Joe. -
As I said above, this is something we're looking at and will be watching closely when online opens up to everyone. It is something we'll be monitoring and if need be, will react. At the moment we're discussing a mode that very few people have played and while we all have ideas as to how it's going to play out we'd still rather see it in the wild first. That said, please don't start going down the route of throwing out insults. We're quite open and honest with you but if the insults to the team continue we'll start re-evaluating the approach. Our way of working can only continue with a two way approach, we don't ask you to agree with everything we say but at least talk to us / about us without throwing insults around. -
I wish I was in Texas to visit COTA :PGood detective skills none the less. -
We're hoping to kick off our live streams next week all going to plan. We've also got some straight gameplay videos that we're currently working on. -
Who knows, always a possibility I guess. Unlikely to be with GRID Autosport though :)PeteTheDuck said:Looks great and I wish I could come but I'm away on holiday! Do you happen to know whether Codemasters are going to be at Eurogamer Expo (EGX) this year? I made a thread about it a while back but had no reply. Can you give any light on that? -
1) Tuning is available in multiplayer but it's not going to magically give someone a two second lead over you. Instead it's more about setting up a car to handle just how you like, to suit your driving style. There may be some performance gain but this should be negligible.2) Yes, the team have put a lot of effort into balancing the cars.3) No, slip stream is there and yes it does make a difference.4) Impact rating is there which gives you an idea of how many collisions a player has been involved in.5) You can turn collisions on and off in custom cups:) -
I'm hoping to get some gameplay videos out, possibly dive into RaceNet (and clubs) as well :) -
We've got 4-5 different routes around CotAWilkinson said:Is there any confirmation that the circuit of the americas has the different layouts? If anyone watches v8 supercars they will know what layout im talking about -
Cars are always only available on a per class basis, you can't mix and match. @pulco I'll work on getting you that list :) -
Slipstream racing around an oval is good fun in Autosport, certainly a different challenge. -
As it stands flashbacks are on in playlists, although I do believe they've lowered the amount down slightly which should add an element of "should I use it" about them.RTAnoskills said:Still no further comment from CM........... 8-}You have to remember that for the most part everyone will pile into playlists and not everyone is a great driver, we have to give people a helping hand along the way or sooner or later you're going to run out of drivers to race against. Some people might not be as naturally gifted at racing games as you are, some might not know the track, while others may have a small blip of concentration. If you spin out on the first corner and into the gravel it's race over all but guaranteed. Having a flashback at least allows you to race within the pack (even if your chasing the tail of the pack). If someone uses flashbacks then I'd be surprised if they are at the front contending for the podium. If you're in the race hitting every apex and driving the optimal racing line then whether or not someone uses a flashback is going to be of little consequence to you.I know we've gone on about it but I really do think custom cup is where most of you will find a home away from playlists, the options and control you want are all there, including no flashbacks. That said, this is something we'll be monitoring once the game goes live and we will act should the need be there. This is something we're keeping a close eye and once the game launches we'll have a vast amount of data to analyse, along with first hand feedback from everyone -
One thing we don't do is deliberately set out to not put a feature in that we know you want, in fact, it's quite the opposite. In terms of features we're always pushing to get things in but sometimes the alignment just isn't there.Text chat is important to us, we know it's a much requested feature and it's not something we've forgotten about by any means. Right now the team are incredibly busy finishing the game, it's not a time when you want to be adding a new feature into the code as it's a time for bug fixing and polish. We finish work on it in just a few weeks time and then it's off to manufacturer and shipping.I want to be able to tell you "yes it's coming", but right now we're not in the place to do that. It's one of the things at the top of my feedback list. -
The Lola B12/80 is a pretty nice Prototype :)P308R said:I am a bit disappointed with the carlist. After the touringcar list I expected a bit more variation also within the Endurance departement. The lack of Proto's is a bit of a bummer.. #-o

It’s the dead of night and the illumination of the starting straight fades into the background, track lighting is at a minimum and the headlights from your competitors shine into the night. The brake lights in front appear, a set of red eyes staring your headlights down. Then they vanish. The car in front runs wide and finds itself in the gravel runoff, you’re in first place and now you’re all alone.

If you're out of it by the early afternoon you should be fine. Good luck in the exam :)RallyDriven said:Fortunately it's my uni's May ball tomorrow evening, so that should help me get through it!
If it is as good as the touring line up, I'm going to struggle to put this game down!
Edit: Yep, morning exam on general agriculture! Trying to cram some last minute knowledge on Bovine TB!
