That Skoda Fabia R5 isn't a DLC car though.

That's interesting! Could you tell me what DR2.0 cars have you driven in real life? I'd really like to know 🙂

Not sure if I like these new forums or not. It looks fresh and more stylish but I really miss the compact and straightforward layout of the old forum. Maybe it just takes some time to get used to.

Interesting remarks on the graphics.  To elaborate on this he says that the graphic design of the game resembles the older Dirt games rather than what we saw in Dirt Rally and I have to say I agree. This does give a bit of 'cartoony look' with more added effects and flare rather than the more clean bare bones look Dirt Rally had.  You say “clean bare bones”, I say “dull and washed-out”. GoPro footage is not representative of real life ? True, but you don't walk around looking at the world with yellow glasses either  ;) Latvala filter applied: What a twist! You play as Jari-Matti in DR2. Thats funny... I've been playing him in most rally games That's Mikko Hirvonen in WRC Rally Finland 2010 though

@ChristinaMc Reading about the transition to a new forum at the beginning of February made me think that would it be possible to create a Discord group for us DiRTy Gossipers? As far as I understood the forum is going to be read-only during the transition so we can't create new threads or post messages but I really need my daily dose of gossip in order to not get withdrawal symptoms :sunglasses:

The dash in the Fiesta is still the roadmode It's the R2 Fiesta in that video, not the R5 The Fiesta R2 display should look the same as in the Fiesta R5 in stage mode: https://youtu.be/Q7ATZmch5rE

I've seen so much footage of wet roads this week that I'm starting to think that DR2.0 simulates the weather of Wales in every country

Link? That would seriously open up the possibility, that we might get Full-Length stages of the DR1 DLCs. 20km full Col de Turini, 20km Sweden, or 20km Panzerplatte plus extra Vineyard-stage maybe...? Jon said it on his Instagram story.  Jon's Instagram story just got posted two posts above yours

So he is doing high 42's a lap while Kristoffersson is lapping at mid 48's at Trois-Rivieres IRL. I know curcuits aren't 100% accurate but it really bugs me that lap times are so far apart from real life. 6 seconds per lap is indeed a ridiculous difference on such short tracks. Think about the time difference in final heats; the time in game would be over half a minute quicker. Half. A. Minute. I'm sure some of that time is down to circuit variations, but not THAT much.  So is it down to excessive acceleration or ridiculous corner speed abilities?  In comparison PC2 is a lot closer lap time wise.    In my opinion it's because of too short braking distances, car being too responsive to steering inputs which makes the car change direction unrealistically quickly, and way too much lateral grip. You can just throw the car sideways into the corners, slam the throttle and get away with it quicker than if you drove cleanly trying to avoid sliding. Based on what I've seen in real onboards they "roll" the car into the corner with left-foot braking and try to grip through the corner with gentle throttle input because the wheelspin they get from going full throttle decreases lateral grip so much that they go further from apex and lose acceleration on corner exit. In my opinion iRacing did a good job with rallycross physics. Here's one of my videos from bit over a year ago. The lap was driven in very optimal road conditions (almost 2 hours into the practice session with hundreds of laps by the drivers). A "green" track (a clean track without any laps in) is ~3-4 seconds a lap slower. https://youtu.be/Y60i1e8z6tI EDIT: Just a clarification: these thoughts are based on my experiences with RX in DiRT Rally and DiRT 4. I don't expect rallycross to be radically different in DR2.0 so that's why I decided to write down my thoughts on the lap time issue

Looks nice except for the rear spoiler. It's like they went to the local tuning parts shop and purposely tried to find the ugliest spoiler they could find and slammed it to the car. :joy:

The "hello i am 13 yrs old lol" font of the driver names on the window doesn't help either. I was wondering whether to mention that for fear of sounding too old - I'm bitter enough about the concept of numbers not being determined by seeding still... Flag, first initial & last name in Helvetica, optional blood group if you want to look cool - driver & co-driver. Time for some Horlicks... Think my beef with the Polo may be how far forward the front wheels are compared to the previous model WRC version. And the flag should be to the front of the car from the name. And the top name should be of the person that's sitting on that side of the car :D This person gets it although I'm not opposed to different fonts, as long as they're legible Someone's going to be very disappointed to see '50 new' Gossip posts, when they realise those are about decal fonts and R5 wing sizes...... I saw 20 new posts and expected some big news but instead I was greeted with discussion about decal fonts and R5 wings. It made me so angry I started to furiously run in a circle and scream "COMIC SANS" until I lost my voice.

Take a look at this: https://youtu.be/DRW61GDIlAY The Porsche should be very stable in terms of body roll. Biggest issues I see in the DiRT Show Porsche footage are three things: 1) the car reacts way too quickly and harshly to steering inputs, 2) car indeed looks like it's "rotating" instead of turning with the front tires as mentioned above and 3) the transition from wheelspin to tires gripping is too quick; it magically finds the grip instantly when the wheels are straight instead of the driver having to end the wheelspin with throttle control. The real onboard video I posted above is a great example of how much off the things I mentioned are in the current DR2.0 footage we have seen. It's almost like the game is running fast-forwarded and everything is way too snappy. Compare it to any junction you see in the real onboard. There's no flow to controlling the car like there should be, looks like Jon can't predict the car behavior at all and is just trying to react to all the car's unnaturally quick movements as best as he can.
