0 New Car Smell
  1. I was just talking about how planted it looked, I wasn't actually comparing the car to a GT3 technically. GT3 was just the first thing that came to mind. Please bear in mind that Mike had no audio when he was playing on the live stream so he had no audio forewarning of the tyres giving up their grip. While this car has obviously got a lot of downforce and grip it also has a huge amount of power so over driving it will still cause it to lose traction.  Watch the video of Loeb driving up Pikes. He isn't pinning the throttle and railing it around every corner he is actually being quite c
  2. Setup and driver matters a lot. On top of that, it's "Work in Progress". Just because there isn't that text slapped on it, doesn't mean everything is finished. I like the changes done to the Monte Carlo though. It's going to be more tarmac and less snow now, or rather it's gonna be all about finding the tarmac grip in those snowy sections. Really like those small things that force you to re-learn the stages in some way. Yeah, as a simulator dev myself I know the ins and outs of work-in-progress. I'd normally put it down to that, but later on in the stream they say that this is a very final
  3. Is it just me, or does that Peugeot look very "drifty" in terms of its handling? On the actual onboard it looks planted like a GT3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y20CLumT2Sg
  4. These look awesome :D Yep. We all know Paul and the team are perfectionists who love rallying as much as we do, so I'm sure we're all on the same page about what we want out of a great rally sim. Now they have the green light to go do it. I'll save the wishlist for another time, but I'm excited for all the possibilities. Either way, I have full faith in the guys that they'll make something epic. Add in their great performance with Early Access, with timely updates, fixes, and listening to the community, and I'm very excited to see what the future holds.
  5. Tried it. It was an improvement I will say, but it's still totally dead around center, and SAT (self-aligning torque) is nowhere to be seen. I see they're working on it right now, though, so here's hoping.
  6. Any thoughts from the team on force feedback? No feeling of the road, no feeling of weight transfer, no self-aligning torque when countersteering (essential imo)... it's just dead and disconnected. The setting sliders have effects for sure, but nothing stops it feeling like a totally dead, unresponsive centering spring, with some vibration thrown in when you hit stuff. DiRT 3 had it way better in these areas.
  7. T500. I don't have centering spring set on in the profiler, or anything like that. I never run it for anything.
  8. Agreed. Right now, it feels like a centering spring with vibration, and nothing more. If it had a feel at least like DiRT 3, then that'd be a considerable improvement.
