I have the game installed on my D drive - and as counter intuitive as it sounds my solution was to clear space on my Windows installation drive C:/ There are several reports of this on the steam forums, most of them stating that 3GB of space is required in the C:/ drive

Should that be dirtgame[at]codemaster[dot]com or codemasters? I answered my own question - email to the specified codemaster[dot]com email bounces.
