I meant to PM you. As you've maybe read, I have re-thought my settings more for fun than competition. So scrap my settings for feedback, put Everything to 100% except collision & suspension , I have them at 60% to reduce clipping - & Enjoy the awesome! Hell, I might even go back to soft-lock, this 037 is awesome fun!! Run now uploaded http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/6210/show-off-your-replays#latest Not sure about the G27, but 100 Self Aligning Tourque is waaaay too much and it just gets silly. The T500 is a great deal stronger though. For me, Self Aligning Torque is the most important wheel setting DiRT Rally has. I'm on XB1, which for some reason, is fairly different to the PC in wheel setup. The Xbox is nearly fine straight out the box, I just toned the 'rattle' down a bit. Im definitely trying full Softlock rotation this evening with the 037. :) It's def important, but set too high the wheel pulls wildly too the left and right way too violently. Mine is set to 45-60. There is big differences in different wheels though so it's hard to compare. I've done some experimenting with FFB lately and imo FFB is the biggest issue with tarmac. There is basically zero SAT on tarmac. Forces builds up some when cornering but it behaves very very strange.

Forcing things is never a good thing. People all want to play in different ways.

The '95 Impreza with default setup at full 900 degree lock must be your worst nightmare in that case :P Yeah. 300 degrees is what I'm used to, so that is what I'll be sticking to. Fair, it bugs me if I don't use whats realistic to the car. 900 degrees with the default Impreza is a very fun challenge personally, its nuts. I can contend with not being competitive in dailies I find it hard to believe the Impreza used 900 though. 720 yes, but not 900?

Would be a small price to pay if it would have solved your problem. Whatever floats your boat.

That's awesome to hear, thank you! I guess you'll have to join us on the dark side cranking that DOR up a bit for those cars. Try 540 ;) Nope. Takes too long to adjust. Bringing up the menu and click a few times on the saturation setting takes too much time? Kids these days... To adjust to the new rotation, obviously. :P I'd be uncompetitive for far too long. I was mainly talking about running 540 with cars you find hyper sensitive, not across the whole field of cars ;)

Yes please! What Porky said. I'd like to love the Alpine but the hyper-sensitive steering spoils my enjoyment. You also use 300 degrees as Pork on a G27? To me everything below 540 feels hyper sensitive but that's obviously as I'm used to run 900 with soft lock.

I will be extremely happy with Michigan if the jumps are toned down compared to Finland in DR. More big crests than actual big ass jumps.

A little hate is justified >:)

It feels more normal because it is more normal ;) Shots fired!

Before I bought a handbrake I used one of the buttons on the wheel base as a handbrake. Worked well :)

As I've understood there will be more replay options, one that does not switch automatically and that is focusing on road side cams. That said, I think I'll enjoy the onboards more this time with 1:1 steering animation :)

Their power is fine, in my opinion - but their grip is a bit over the top. Yeah. The question is if they simulate all cars with modern day tires or the appropriate tires they used back in the day. The difference should be massive. The newer WRC cars on snow are much more like driving on gravel. Turn in like you would on gravel and get on the throttle. The earlier cars really needed to be handled more throwing them sideways from corner to corner. Just look how Colin drives the group A Impreza on snow. https://youtu.be/VxFGJELhifU

Some new footage there. Thanks :)

*cough*acat mod*cough***choke** VAC bans are still there, so I don't recommend to use it. At least unplug Internetz before using it.

I don't know the full technical details but I believe the system will be pretty much the same from a mod perspective. So skins made in DiRT Rally should work on those in DiRT 4. That said shaders and other technical bits have changed so while the design of the skin should translate there is a good chance it will need some tweaking to work perfectly. A bit of a blast from the past here (Last Monday). I did some investigation into this and it is actually likely to not be as simple as my comment has suggested as the way we are packaging our data has changed quite a bit. Sorry :( This hopefully means that new skins will have to be made, not that skinning won't be possible?

You'll be fine once you hear Nicky / Jen ;) SometimesI hear Paul in my head when making a 90 degree left when walking about the streets. It's frightening ;)

Yeah, and if I remember correctly, I couldn't even drive properly with wheel before FFB update in June 2015. And this video was made before that. Cars had tons of downforce. Literally tons! No wonder they didn't feel very lively compared to V2 and the paperweight cars in vanilla RBR.

He drives like an old lady, no suprise he can't get the car to slide. Long time I didn't see such poor driving... That video is done with Dirt Rally on V1 physics. So it's kinda irrelevant.

Grip is all about opinions, but I still think Wales should be slippier when it's pouring down than it currently is ;)

The simulation for DiRT Rally was developed over quite a few years and was validated by many different Rally and Rallycross drivers over the course of the Prototype and Early access periods. I'll never claim it was perfect, in fact we've done a lot to improve it for DiRT 4 but I can confidently say that the feel of lateral versus longitudinal grip on the many different surfaces on which you drive is one of the most accurate representations of loose surface drivering out there. Just a bit curious about this. How big of a surprise was it for you guys that you had to make the V2 physics pass? I guess you expected to make small tweaks during EA but this turned out to be a major overhaul.

It was just an observation of mine when i compared some footage from the 2001 Subaru my in game experience. Thanks a lot for answering my question and keep up the good work  Btw. after playing in VR i really hope you will to an after release DLC for D4 aswell because even on the Vanilla PS4 the experience was fantastic and the immersion you get while fighting you car through the finnish woods is insane, personally it's the best VR expeirence yet and also very well done in terms of preventing motion sickness There is strong sideforce at play in DR which gets noticeable if you take jumps at extreme angles and actually makes the car curve. I guess this force is pushing the car towards the road at most times making the car less prone to slide. I guess this was a problem with the aero modeling in DR. Correct me if I'm wrong @KickUp, I'm just speculating.

I see the "wheel shake" effect has returned. Wasn't that in DR also but were removed as people didn't like it? Correct me if I'm wrong :)
