wonder which location would / could be added in the future.

New Zealand, of course! A CMR classic, rich with history, WRC return imminent, thriving and passionate rally community, rugged ocean-side farmland, mountains, forest, smooth flowing gravel with glorious, glorious camber - absolutely ripe for a return to the series. You know you want to @KickUp....

I have to disagree on that one.

    Too similar to Michigan IMHO.

I'd rather have something completely different, eg. Japan.

Michigan and NZ are similar in that they're both gravel :) otherwise they're very, very different. I understand the sentiment around wanting variety though. I like the Irish Tarmac or Isle of Man ideas. I'd go similarly crazy for Argentina as I would NZ. The variety of surface available in argey could be great in YourStage

They both have this reddish gravel.
They both have a lot of long straights and light, fast curves.
They are pretty identical in term of road wideness.
    Road characteristics are very similar.

    Differences:
NZ is a lot more opened area
Michigan is pretty much a forest

Irish rally on tarmac wouldn't be bad but when Im able to choose, I'll always choose gravel or mixed.

I'll stick to Japan, mainly because of:
    - No licensing problems involved,
    - Tight, bump, wet roads
    - Possibility of mixed surfaces
    - It was awesome in RBR

Argentina wouldn't be bad as well though ;)

When it comes to licensing they could use any location they want as long it's not modeled after an actual road used in the WRC.

What we really miss now is a slow rough rally. Another tarmac rally would also fit nicely.

From a diversity point of view maybe not, but my god New Zealand would be epic with Your Stage!

So @KickUp, if you run your career with zero restarts and total your car against a tree. Will this mean a big blow to your credits to get the car restored or does it magically get repaired after you retired from the event?
Would be really cool if your garage ends up with a obsolete car til you have the credits available to repair it.

Yep! If you're racing for another team, it'll be at their cost - but if you're driving your very own car in your very own motorsport team, it's going to cost you a bit of a wedge to get it sorted.

Nice. Will it be repaired for deducted credits automatically or can you choose to not repait it for the time being?

Any insight on this @KickUp? Would be cool to have a battered up car in the garage that you can't afford to repair at the moment :)

so can we play with vpn in euro land on the 6th ? i know paul said he didnt know but previously we have been allowed to vpn codie games. without a risk of a ban.

it might only seem like 3 days but lets be honest its sucks ass... :p

3 days is a pretty long time in the media age.

No idea. There is still contradictions when it comes to the actual release date.

I've been gifted a copy from a nice person in the US just in case  :#

A German map with both a vineyard area and a military training area would fit really well with Your Stage ;)

It would, but for me it'd have to be 2 seperate venues as the vineyards don't run into the military area IRL and that would just detract from the experience a little from me. I'd prefer one or the other (preferably both)

Yeah that's true. They could probably narrow it down so that the stage won't cross over from one area to another if they wanted to.

So many possibilities with this new tech! So exciting :)

Realistically I would think the quickest DLC locations to implement would be Finland, Germany, Monte and Greece - would happily pay to have these added to D4

IIRC, it was stated already that Monte Carlo and Greece will not work because of the cliffside nature of the terrain.

As far as I know Paul shot down that rumour as well.

So, in that video at about 00.13 seconds, looking at that black bar where the countries are listed, is the space at the right for an additional surprise location, or for the rally school, or something else, or did Codies just like an asymmetrical arrangement?

I imagine that will be a mountain range in which we can YourStage the hell out of the hillclimb discipline.

I like the idea l, but hillclimb is about learning the route to set the fastest time!

With the option to disable the co-driver we could easily simulate local sprint events with 2-3 runs on a single piece of road. Would add another challenge :)

@bogani I suppose without it, there would be no physic & wouldn't have an authentic handling. I definitely think the concept is similar.

As there is no actual tire wear modeled I thought temperatures wasn't modeled either. Just speculation though. Only the devs can answer this :)

So @KickUp, when designing your own team in D4, can you use a solid color and skip the patterns if you like?

Well. You can choose whatever pattern you like and copy and paste your chosen colour into the four colour slots. It might sound like a pain but each pattern has different sponsor positions so it means you can make your solid colour livery but still have a choice over how the sponsors are positioned.

    Ah, nice. Thanks :)

I can't wait to stop sticking with Assetto Corsa & actually play Dirt 4. I learned to exploit the setup in that game & understand the reason to stick with stiff spring or why use an understeer setup in the rain. I also understood that those who have access to the game data have an unfair advantage to others.

Tire model is actually bound by temperature margin & contact surface. Like in Monaco in DiRT Rally, the road is actually cold which require a stiff suspension setup for the tire to get faster to operating temperature, while in germany you can't really do it. Seriously, there's no such thing as oversteer & understeer setup. It's either it grip ot not. You are either exceeding the temperature or under it. Obviously you have to balance the temperature for both front & back, etc.

In AC you have the tire app right in front of your face which is super easy to understand how to setup your car. I updated my guide with suspension bit, differential & all(http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=912315488) so I don't have to write down the whole crap that is rarely mentioned or hidden, because they're are afraid to get owned by under age kids & probably lack of pure race craft. It's actually very easy to do.

At least in Dirt Rally especially default on dirt stage is decent enough to not allow those who know how to setup have a massive lead while they lack of driving skill. I will probably explore if I can do it by feel or not, but I'm interested to see if I can somehow manage make result with the knowledge I have learned & hope other may as well exploit it well.

Are you sure tire temps are modeled in Dirt Rally?
