Seriously, I haven't been this excited for a game since I was a kid. And this is by far the best and nicest community I've taken part in.
Cheers to you all. And thank you dev team for interacting with your fans the way you do. You truly set an example for the rest of the gaming industry.
I'm also a bit drunk. :#

Nope there will be switching when cameras can't find a proper position. It doesn't look like it will be nearly as much as in DR though.

Wait a minute, Ive been hearing that they have improved the camera selections compared to Dirt Rally, what you describe for D4 just sounds the same as what Dirt Rally has. I was sure that I heard that there is a seperate TV/trackside camera that is not part of a mixed rotating view and also a seperate helicopter camera that likewise is not part of a mixed rotating view. So that if you just want a TV view of the entire stage you can have it, isnt this what D4 is supposed to have?urgaffel said:You've got all the car cameras plus mixed which includes trackside and others plus helicopter camera. That's for Rally, other modes might be different, can't remember
Also, 25 is comparatively young :expressionless:
I do think that you'll be able to do heli cam only, but from what we've seen so far there will be occasional switching when having it set to roadside. Don't take that as fact though. -

you not coming rallying with us then Kev ? :D
No dgeesi0, I wish I could hit D4 with a big GFX card & Ultra settings, but something strange keeps happening the forum when I play on PC ;)
I will stick with my lowly Xbox, it's safer down here :D
There is still cross platform ;) -

He didn't 'barely' touch the grass, he was driving right over it after the spin. you can see that in the replay. Reset location looked about right to me
Yeah he was right in the middle of the crossover part. -

There was a bit of a strange instant reset when he did a half spin in that hairpin in Spain. Hopefully that won't occur often.RodgerDavies said:
The complexity thing makes me wonder if high complexity stages will still have the straight bits or if the middle settings give the best mix of turns and straights.
I imagine I'll struggle a bit more on less complex stages, to be honest - I always had issues with the really quick sections and am better at the technical areas on DR.
Am hoping the advanced championship levels have a mix of stages and not just highly technical ones for the entire event.
Good job on the footage from the Dirt Show guys, nice to see the 037 and R5 cars in proper SIM settings being driven properly. I can certainly start to recognise some of the 'tiles' in Your Stage (the El Molar hairpin in Spain is very obvious) and am wondering if any of them are ever mirrored? Luckily, the amount of more generic tiles in between seems excellent and I still have little to no idea where the sections join up.
I missed that, do you know what time in the video that happened?
In the beginning of Spain. It's been confirmed to reset to prevent cheating though. -

That is a cheat line preventing corner cutting. It's that or get complaints about people taking shortcuts.
Makes sense! -

And the Lancia 037 now sounds out of this world awesome ;) -
Managed to get one request and one question answered. Not bad :)
My god that white Fiesta R5 looked absolutely stunning in sunny Wales!
In the replay from Sweden there is still a bit too much switching to incar cam, and if that is going to happen I much prefer it would have been the center onboard cam rather than the drivers dashcam.
Both RX and Landrush looked great as well.
Damn I found myself giggle like a little girl at certain points ;) You've really outdone yourself this time. -

I think it's been improved, but I was also thinking about the fact that they had a terminal at under 70mph ;)
And that was gamer handling and low difficulty. Does Fearless punish you more damage wise? -

42:48 is the only thing you need to see in that video. Also note how you can give a 5 star rating for a stage.
@urgaffel Someone did! ;) -

The intro video really sets the mood. Great work there @KickUp!
Oh, and the narrators accent is awesome ;)
@bogani what is this you're refering to?
The Deep Silver live stream. When they enter the game there is an intro video. There is also a cool video when they go in to Rallycross :)I time stamped it for ya.

From the SimracingPaddock guy from the 1,5h stream. Last parts sounds awesome :)"Damage seems pretty solid. It MAY be a little too tough to total the cars though, which is kind of disappointing. I would have liked to see the cars be easier to total, but I forget what settings I was running in the Live Stream, so I'm not certain as to the current stage of Mechanical Damage in D4.
However, a semi-related thing happened to me with mechanical failures, which is promising. In my testing before the Live Stream started, I did have a situation where a brake rotor had something happen to it halfway through a stage, which caused a GOD AWFUL screeching sound, like the metal on metal on the pads. A few minutes later, the screeching stopped, but I noticed I lost braking in the Right Rear wheel, created an all new challenge."

So, channel with 644 subscribers can have a ps4 code? Just give one to @Porkhammer already :D
No one has been given a code. They came to the event in London yesterday.
As I have said many times before we cannot tell the journalists who attend these events how to drive or what they can and cannot do.
They could probably have used the game audio without any copyright trouble though?
Perhaps their capture kit didn't record the audio so they had to use this instead.
Nah, they wrote in the desription the removed the audio for copyright reasons. -

I should warn you they have removed the game audio with looping fucking elevator music :s -
