Thanks Codemasters for making the wait even more difficult after seeing that trailer  >:)

@KickUp will the codriver stop taking during the replays?

Depends which camera you are in

Should have been more clear I see ;) In DR the copilote was active during the TV-Camera replay. Is this still the case or will the copilote enjoy the scenery only this time?

Naaaah. Co-driver was only heard in onboard cams and heli cam.

    U.

Indeed. Much better than the last one imo.

Don't mind the U. If I delete it it would have jumped in the quote box  :s

This was posted before, but it's good to go from that arcadey dutch footage to this footage. It looks a hundred times better.

If you look at the trucks in the latest official trailer from Codemasters they look extremely stiff when landing, like there is no suspension travel at all, but when you see actual gameplay they absorb bumps with the suspension like you would expect.

I find it quite interesting that how cars move/behave in trailers doesn't really reflect the actual gameplay.

Watching some of the gameplay thats out there, I was wondering what the penalty for not stopping at the Marshall in time/ overshooting is. KickUp

    There isn't a penalty.

Just to be clear. If you crash  just after you cross the finish line, before the marshals, that damage will be carried over to the next stage?

  5. Watched the whole Gamekings footage and can't wait to see some actual sim channels get ahold of the game to try it out in this way. The game looks visually superb and the Your Stage tech looks seamless (though I'm curious as to how frequently that El Molar hairpin will crop up in Spain!), but so far this video adds to the illusion that the handling model is awful. I realise it's "Gamer" settings and I'm not the intended audience, but setting fastest sectors after rolling the car several times and driving Sweden like it's asphalt is just doing the opposite of making me hyped so far.

Again, I read above and I know this is the publisher's decision, but all I can see they're doing so far (for people who don't follow this forum) is serving to alienate people like myself brought back to the fold by DR.

I like every screen I see of the game and, even if I don't 100% agree with them all, all the comments from the dev folk on here about the game's direction and am hoping to be excited by the footage soon, but I really hope you can wrangle some codes from the publishers for some PC sim channels (Jimmy Broadbent, ISR, Empty Box etc). I really want to make this my second ever pre-order (the first was TOCA World Touring Cars, so also CM!), am just waiting to see something, anything, that says "similar physics to DR but better aero" to me.

Hey, I bet DR was easier without idiots like me moaning before trying it out, right!?

Last time I mention this for a few weeks, I promise, just wanted to put into words.

The best example I've seen so far is probably the Impreza from the Playstation Access video.

Another example I come to think of is the Fiesta R5 in Australia. That one was released just after the Dirt 4 launch event if I recall correctly. That looked pretty good.

Incredible that those screens are from a PS4!

Well... not as incredible when you stack them against Gran Turismo Sport screens, but definitely awesome nevertheless.

Now that is pure awesomeness right there. Excuse me while I go to the bathroom :D

Yeah, we won't get graphics in GTS level. Not even on PC. Polyphony always had the most realistic lightning and color palette when it comes to graphics imo. Photo realism is usually just a silly term, but it's getting quite close.

    I'm getting hyped, hyped, hyped.

Not sure if it's Polish distributor idea but there will be t-shirts sold which will give an additional discount on the game itself. Any other countries have this too?

Can't wait to get back home from work and watch the video of Stratos in Sweden with sounds.
    How does it feel? :>

Marketing t-shirt always have such great fitting.

    Nooooot.

My DR one fits pretty well to be fair :)

You must have HUGE arms! ;)

if im honest im surprised they havent let porkhammer do some footage.i d obviously do some aswell if it was needed.i think many here from the sim side want to see how it is in action.as some have said already people want to see if anything like dirt 2/3 handling is in there.which is too easy.

overall seen some great stuff from the video they were terrible though.also on sweden the track width was close to double of dirt rally.you could see on play back you could fit two stratos side by side.which i cant remember that in dirt rally.

as we get nearer release i do expect to see more media so hopefully we push a bit more of the sim side now aswell.

i know if i was doing it i would show one stage from each location rallied cleanly / decently with sim handling with different weather in each if possible. also on pc as graphically it should be better.

Where and who gets codes is down to our Publisher and not us. We are hoping to showcase some of the stuff that you guys have been asking for soon. I think @ChristinaMc maybe asking for requests on the lead up to this but I don't want to speak on her behalf as I am not 100% sure on the plans.

Correct - our publishers will take the lead on code distribution, but I will have some scope to influence this/get some codes of my own. :)

Worth mentioning that there are some videos in the works for approval too. With the more press-orientated/wider audience stuff, we need to showcase breadth and excitement in a short amount of time... but for the more simulation-based stuff, we're finding some fun ways we can show you this. ;)

    Interesting ;)

    NEWSFLASH!

A dutch gaming channel has got a hold of a preview code. I have no idea what they are saying but they showcase the Mitsubishi on a misty spanish stage. Not watched it all yet though.

    It looks beautiful :)

    http://www.gamekings.tv/videos/lets-play-dirt-4/

Nice to see some more footage, but I just can't understand how Codemasters finds these sub par gaming channels. The article contains loads of spelling mistakes and wrong information, and is just rubbish overall.
I haven't had the time to listen to what they have to say but it doesn't look like they're actual fans of the genre. I'd prefer some proper in depth analysing and review instead of some cool gamer kids that don't know what they are doing. But at least we finally have some more footage.

If these guys got a preview code hopefully the likes of ISR also got one. I really like Billy and John.

Hell, I managed to get 65k views on one of my DR videos on YT, and that's without subscribers. Send me a code Paul! ;)

  11. Yeah, button handbrake on a wheel is terrible.  If you have a shifter, it's worth losing the h box just to get the handbrake on it.

Who has a separate handbrake and a link to it?

If you have 99 dollares laying around somewhere this one is pretty nice.
