With the WRC licence, I would nearly prefer they didn't use YourStage tech and go for accuracy.

Existing "WRC" titles only have 'made up' stages with token landmarks, but look at Dirt Rally as a contrast.  Sweet Lamb is accurate, Col De Turini is accurate, Panzerplatte is accurate, Ouninpohja is accurate, but for licensing, they have to be re-named.

Codies could accurately represent WRC cars, sounds, handling and locations (they are half-way there with existing assets) and keep YourStage for the DiRT franchise.  Best of both worlds.  WRC for authenticity, DiRT for infinite possibilities and a 'free hand' of content, disciplines & cars

I bought WRC6 just because of what it is, and its turned out to be horrific.  I still crave a competent WRC title like the good ole days

Recreating these stages took crazy man hours. There is no way they could accurately recreate the amount of stages we would want in an official WRC game. It's just not viable.

If they somehow could get a hold of the Virtual Spectator data that were used before during WRC broadcasts, maybe they could create the stages in a more efficient way.
The Virtual Spectator thing was kinda impressive with great detail of the roads if I recall correctly :)

So Slightly Mad Studios is teasing a new IP. Some rumour says it's the WRC license.

If that's true, it might be worth watching out for. I didn't know that it was on the cards though, when was this rumoured?

Maybe it's better to call it speculation than rumour to be honest.

The license is up for grabs though as I've understood.

If you asking for translation of 90* degree rotation (about 8cm) into a few mm done with small stick... you asking for some aid/assistence.

A bit off-topic, but how tiny is your wheel? Or did you just mix up cm with inches? On my DFGT those 90° are about 22-23 cm :D

Since the userbase will probably be 95% pad users it's like shooting yourself in the foot not getting pads to work properly.

It's probably not an accurate representation, but when looking at daily/weeklt/monthly events, the distribution between wheel and controller drivers is pretty much equal. I just find that interesting

I would think only 10-15% of the consumers regularly participate in dailies, and wheel users are probably over represented there. Just speculation though :)

I will not be buying dirt 4 without VR. Looks like SMS may get the WRC franchise so if so at least hopefully that will have VR support built into it as they will use the pcars 2 engine, but may be a year away for release.

Woa! Back up! SMS getting the WRC? Source please.

The only thing that will make me buy Pcars 2 would it be gamepad friendly & no fuss with controller setting.

Thank you Team VVV, 100% I'm skipping it. By the way, they have zero contents about DiRT 4.

It almost feel that anything you get on that channel are games you should avoid at all cost.

Team VVV haven't been invited to any of the Dirt 4 events according to themselfs.

  6. So I went to Lydden Hill today for the first time to watch the British Rallycross Championship and it was FANTASTIC. Absolutely non-stop racing with the tiniest of gaps between each one. When I went to Croft last year it was very slow moving and long-ass gaps between them but this was so much better. Watching this all today has gotten me so hyped to play the upgraded RX physics as well as the buggies in D4!

I almost bumped into this guy and apologised and only when I walked away did I notice who it was...got a cheeky snap:

    Videos to come!

Good thing you apologized. You had no idea who you were messing with.

    Hint to reference: Gatebil 2016

    ;)

  7. That is a gorgeous screen, I never tried Sweden much in DR but thoroughly looking forward to it in D4.

I would love some proper old school Swedish stages with more solid ice and snow on the road. Now it's more of a frozen gravel base. It might be more in line with how the rally has been lately, but if we consider that there should hardly be any snow banks.

Would be cool if we could choose different conditions in Your Stage. How "snowy" the conditions are.

Can you name YourStage saved stages?

I believe you can name stages you save for private use, but not those you share with others. Paul can correct me on this if I'm mistaken.

It'd be cool if we could save, name and share Pseudo-Rallies for friends etc.

We could have virtual Donegal or Killarney multiplayer, based on selected Spanish tarmac etc.

Not essential but it would be nice!

This is true. We let you name your stages locally but when you share them we don't share the name to avoid people sharing offensively named stages.

Here I was thinking that it was to have some sort of uniformity in the naming of stages. Sounds a bit PC to me. :/

If we allowed people to write offensive names then we wouldn't be allowed to release the game.

And we all know how people are. Would be a shitload of genital stages around the locations.

    In German V=F, S=Z, Z=C :D There's probably some more, but that's what I remember from school :D

Well, for me it doesn't really matter how you pronounce each letter specifically in German, because at the end of the day... it all sounds like an order to shoot somebody. Especially the names of christmas :D

Just a small note, since this is kind of a running joke in Poland about the German language (along with the one that there aren't any woman in Germany xD). Best to just ignore this post... completely... why did I even post this again?

I'm just not sure I get the no woman thing... maybe it's a European thing.

Implying that all german women look like men I suppose  :D

Kinda like I picture all polish men with a short haircut, in trainers smoking a cigarette while saying kurwa ;)

@KickUP one question. Very important one.

I see that Polish is in fully supported language.
Will we have an option to change to original Nicky Grist and English UI? The Steam shows it as a global one so that should be the case but I want to be  sure - got bitten by it from other developers/distributors before.

Yeah. It is part of our full game. We are not doing a specific Polish version.

What about a Swedish version?! I wanna have the Swedish chef as a co-driver  :D
