  1. so...... my question would be is there a 'cleaning' effect? do the 1st few runners suffer from sweeping the road(dry stages), then the stage hits the sweet spot, then tails off as lots more cars run the stage? or is 1st on the road getting the most grip? MM

    its stopped me from playing at this point. how am i supposed to press a button for handbrake once VR comes along?? its bad enough as it is. my handbrake works fine on ALL other supported games its getting a wiff of SLRE now with the lack of progress with this issue, and iv lost confidence in CodeMasters products at this point, id have bought F1 2019 already but for this, and its not something new from what other forums have said about F1 2018 and D4 MM

    PC steam all the time wales rally, sweetlamb stage, intermittant water splash, also wipers dont always auto wipe after going through ford.... not that theres much water ha also, the sound (not sound cut out bug) of the car on replays keeps disappearing, all other sounds like skids and rain ok, but no engine sounds with certain camera angles MM

    i used to enjoy the ballance of going quick enough to win vs ruining the car and losing all me pole dancer money on headlights and bonnets, but after 4 career wipes iv given up on that side of things for a while now, do the odd daily but impossible to go fast as most of me cars havnt been chipped up. online events need a rethink really MM

    G29 linearity issue?

    linearity set to 0 will cause slow wheel rotation, i believe 50 is 1 to 1 steering, 100 causes the wheel to move faster? could also be a conflict between logitech profiler degrees of rotation and in game degrees if they have different valus (900 vs 720 example) MM

    iv given up waiting for a fix on this, i STILL cant use ALL of my USB controller devices because of the USB polling issue, iv a handbrake and gearbox that are pluggd in briefly to stop the stutter, then have to be removed to prevent the stutter returning...... EVERY F*****G TIME I START IT UP! frankly, not good enough CM, iv been one of your biggest supporters on this game, buy youve p*55*d on me mr chips now MM

    FFB: the current problem - A visual explanation.

    no probs pal, i figured this is like finding the bass guitar on 'and justice for all' ha ok, were using a TM-TX base so basically a t300... ish changed XML FFB from 1.0 (default is 0.9 on my wheel) to 4.0 (or 400%) SAT lowered from 100 to 20(gravel) 40(tarmac) and 50(snow/sweden) tyre friction 30 wheel friction 30 suspension 25 collisions 30 all other settings none adjustable in game for my wheel tyre/wheel/suspension and collision are all to your taste but dont go too high as they will muddy out the road effects, you will need to adjust the SATS for different surfaces, and to your own taste and again, dont go too high. thrustmaster profiler is set to default(constant/periodic/spring=100), 720degrees rotation and 90% overall FFB and the difference? slightly lighter wheel(again, preference) but now when i cut a corner, i can feel the 'Bumps' infact at high speed, the wheel is nearly ripped out of my hand, so be careful!! the road noise differs from country to country, new zealand is smooth, other than the bumps at the side of the road and the jump impacts not much has changed, but australia i can now feel the ruts and other subtleties that were missing, and i have more control over the car as i can fell more going on, which is reflecting in my stage times. i will be tweeking slightly, but these are good baseline setting for someone with similar wheel MM the TLDR shizzle, the maths behind whats going on, so you can adjust and fine tune your own settings or atleast understand what to do with default CM FFB game settings, the road noise and impacts(bumps/corner cuts) are at about 10% in the mix and are none adjustable, the SAT is at 100% in the FFB mix and IS adjustable So, we need to raise the road noise/bumps to a higher level, changing the XML FFB to 4.0 from 1.0 gives us 4x more FFB across the FFB mix, so we have now raised the road noise/bumps to 40 from 10 (10x4=40) but the SAT is now at 400, we need to lower this as A: it will snap wrists, and B: it will be killing the road/bumps in the mix still. lowering the SAT to 20 effectively now changes it to 20% of 400, which is 80, 20 lower than default from CM, changing to 25 would be back to 100 SAT(default) 25x4=100 wheel and tyre friction set to 30 from 100 gives us an actual in game value of 120(30x4) i hope this helps a few folks in whats going on and understanding the graph

    Platform : PC Issue/Bug : all sound goes off except for gravel hitting the car frequency : Random, but ONLY when playing the 'online only' career/daily events/monthly events, i have NEVER had this issue in TT mode, and i play mostly in TT mode MM

    Tyre life and Running order

    hello folks, happy friday after spending all night last nights live steam trying to figure out tyre wear, i thought id ask the question here so, on dry gravel, soft tyre, how many miles before it goes off? now, if i choose the same stage/tyre combo but wet surface, will the tyre last longer? infact, does road condition(wet/dry) affect the tyre wear in any way? does cooler wetter conditions help maintain grip for a longer period or does the extra slip actually wear the tyre out quicker? it would be nice for codemasters to come out and tell us how long each tyre is supposed to last at a certain speed. if we say... take stage A, if its completed between 3:40 and 3:50 you will get about X miles in tyre life? is than making any sense? i hope so hahahaa right, next, running order 1st on the road in dry gravel should result in more tyre wear and slower times as your cleaning the surface for everyone else, however, is this reversed for wet stages? starting 1st should be an advantage in wet conditions(gravel) is it modeled like this ingame? any ideas? hope to see yall on the stages this weekend folks, this game is EPIC!!!!! addicted big time hahahaa MM

    coming back to this an Audi Quattro group B destroyed a set of soft tyres at the 12 mile mark on australia(worn surface), service shown that tyres needed changing. so the softs only last for 2 short stages, a short and a long and you'll probably be out of rubber on gravel(in group B) the tests continue ha MM

    yes, engine braking is a little harsh and it blows my mind in 2019 that ALS isnt in more games, its a feature on the turbo that could be adjusted or fail, adding more depth to the driving and repairs side of things. its something that should be par for the course on any rally game and annoys me that it isnt present...... ill say it again, its a good job the bits of this game that work are really good, but it does have room for improvement MM

    if the rally GB is coming, sweet lamb will be included, of that im sure. going off the monte reveal, all the stages are the same as DR1, it makes sense to port the DR1 tracks over to DR2 MM

    sorry it didnt help mate, dont always trust the program mind, check the cores with resource monitor, check CPU tab and just quickly observe if the cores go to 'parked' sorry if im tellin ya how to suck eggs there hahaa 😉 MM

    Tarmac physics fix for wheel users

    yes mate, agreed, it wasnt a preference to go soft, it was just a night n day difference in 'FFB' feel between a hard setup and soft setup, and was now alot of fun to drive so i didnt spend any time tuning from there. the ride height was a compromise between being low but not too low that small cuts on corners would be effected. it wasnt a setup for breaking any records with 😉 this is more of a suggestion for peepes like me that just couldnt get on with the sealed stuff. going soft and then dialing in the suspension is probably the way to go, iv just been too busy going 'WOW this is ace' to have done any of that hahahahaaa on a side note, and iv discussed this with other DR players, i was always under the impression that going full soft on a setup was basically a gravel setup, which for me shouldnt have been possible with a car built for a sealed surface rally, but, it looks to me now that a full soft setup on tarmac is just the softest setting for the tarmac suspension, which is good. i could be wrong on this mind hahaha MM
  24. hello folks after a full week of avoiding the dreaded black stuff, i found something that i think may help ya'll using a wheel, goes against what you may think, but feel free to try it out and let us know here 😉 ok, i used the evo 6 group A for this, 1st run was with full stiff suspension, zero feel with the wheel, so, for a laugh, defaulted the settings and then changed all the suspension to SOFT, full soft, springs and anti roll were left alone and transmission was adjusted to suit my style.......... its a game changer IMHO, its transformed the game for me, ill put a link to the video when youtube has finished its magic so you can see what settings were used. if your struggling with the FFB and physics on tarmac, please, try this now looks like the load up on the FFB is suspension triggered and not from tyre load, try it anyways folks, i used the usual trick and turned SAT to 150 on my TX wheel, i use 125 default hope this helps some folks out, like i say, its worth a try happy monday MM
