less wide stages/more tight like the real ones..

I guess you haven't seen them in action up close then... Not sure what your purpose was with the first video. The second video is Ragnotti showing off and not trying to be as quickly as he can, which is the point of rallying/racing especially at the top level where the WRC's are used. The last two videos explain exactly what was wrong back in the day and clearly show you the reason why the cars were banned and strict rules were set out for spectators. So again, no idea what the point of those were either to be honest unless you want to get back to 'no rules' which will eventually result in numerous people being killed or injured and another class of rally cars being banned.

The width of the roads they recreated is accurate. There are plenty of places (corner combinations) where the roads are quite narrow and can cause massive problems or crashes. Look at some footage of the stages they recreated in the game. I can't post a video at the moment but there are plenty around. 😉

Have you seen those beasts go flat out on stages with your own eyes as a spectator? Because if you have, you know that they are extremely spectacular when going through corners. The size of their cahones must be enormous. I saw Neuville go flat out on the narrow stages in the Ypres Rally last year. The car is as wide as the road itself and the speed with which he went through corners, taking big cuts on the inside, pfew! That was insane! 😱

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

I appreciate and accept your apology. It never was and never will be my intension to attack someone or disrespect them in any way. I always try to be constructive and help others out to the best of my abilities. Sometimes what I say isn't what the person in question wants to hear or he/she misunderstands or misinterprets my words. It can happen but as long as we clear everything up in a respectful manner, we can all get along and learn from one another. I apologise if I came across as rude or made you or others feel attacked. 😉 Back to the topic at hand, I agree with you that it would indeed be appreciated but again it's all down to the priorities they set out seen from both a developer's point of view as a business one.

I also see an image of a Clio which is in the GRID game. Maybe then will use that asset and assets from previous DiRT games such as Colin McRae DiRT... Is it the screaming of the S1600 I hear in the distance? Wouldn't mind that at all! 😄

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

I'm just trying to explain the situation from both a personal point of view, an objective factual one and from different angles. What you describe me as, is completely the opposite of who I actually am. Your description can't be further from reality, about the skills I possess and my character as a person. Yes, I do have several WR's, which I'm rightfully proud of. Yes, I have tried plenty of OTHER serious racing games as I own about 20 sim racing titles (e.g. AC, AC Competizione, iRacing and R3E to just name a few). Yes, I have competed in many of those games at a decently high level but I was forced to focus on just one as my personal and professional life are still my priority. No, I'm not just good at chatting but much more and I'm also not convincing myself of how good I am because I know I am, as do many others. The only point you did get right, is that I do play alone in my room, when I do play, as I need to be fully focused to test, set up the car, work on my driving lines and braking points etc. for upcoming high level club events to compete with the best drivers in this game such as Jarod Pesch, Kryspa, Nickardi and many more. These are all people who competed in the quarter, semi and/or grand final(s) of the World Series. Those things you mentioned about me are pointless in this conversation and have no purpose to get to the point you made after those lines. I do know many driving games have that option but that does not oblige the devs to put it in as well. The time they had, the money that was/is at their disposal and the amount of people working on the project/game, led to a priority list of content and features they were going to implement, and are still doing that today. The feature you 'ask' for from the devs, which is sounding more and more like a demand rather than a request, was not amongst the features on that list. That's how game development works. If they had all the time, money and manpower in the world at their disposal, sure it would most likely be in the game but that's not how it is in reality. And one more thing, I am one of the people that tries to make the world go around on a daily basis. I help those in need in my community every week without asking anything in return. I take time out of my day to offer less fortunate people food and drink. I help children overcome learning disabilities voluntarily etc. And for this DR2.0 community, I design liveries for others to download and install into the game for free and that in my leisure time, not asking for anything in return, always helping those out that have questions or requests and plenty more. My final question to you is, what have you done lately to make the world go around and make everything a bit more bearable for those around you? So remember that next time you attack a man who's trying to give you a clear/logical explanation as to why the feature is not in the game, make sure you know who you're up against so you won't look like a disrespectful and shameful fool. I bid you goodnight.

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

The person who started this thread mentioned those links as places where people discussed this issue in the game and that there are plenty more. But it's not the amounts of threads that count, it's the amount of comments and reactions within the threads that define if it is a widely discussed topic. In this case, it is not. I know there are plenty more having that uncomfortable effect but still the decision depends on the data the devs have and not the speculative amount of players/percentage that might be affected.

I'm already looking for some new future projects to design... Still hoping I will be able to design this one. @PJTierney, can I keep the image for the expected design project or should I just delete it and not waste my time? 🧐

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

The tone of my post is not that people that have motion sickness should suck it up. That's what you read into it but is never stated in my text. I am fully aware that motion sickness is a medically aknowledged phenomenon but the situation with games in VR and 2D differ because of the intensity. The motion your body undergoes and your brain perceives is different from what your brain expects to perceive. The effects in 2D are way less influencial than those in VR. I must mention that I did try VR out for a few hours a while back and I felt quite nauseous after a while and had to stop. What my body felt and my brain perceived was completely out of sync. I don't have that feeling at all in 2D. What I did mean is that it only affects an extremely small percentage of the player base and the devs can't make the game available for every person with a type of disorder. I, myself, have severe ADD and wouldn't mind shorter stages as on the longest stages I can't keep my concentration up all the way to the end. However that won't happen so what I do, is look for ways to overcome my disadvantage with different techniques and strategies.

It must be Spring somewhere in this world right... 😛 If @PJTierney is thinking of the British Spring, we'll have to wait until June or July... 😮 @PJTierney, you can put that one in the 'future excuses'-, '#soon'-box or whatever you guys call it. You're welcome. Still something more is coming and I'm still convinced our reaction will be along the lines of this: or this: or maybe this:

    Codemasters, what are you doing?

If I understand correctly, there is a 'lock on the horizon'-feature (more or less) for the VR players to help prevent motion sickness which is completely understandable. When you don't have a VR headset, like myself, the 'lock on the horizon'-feature is not necessary as motion sickness is no issue in this case. There are barely any large scale complaint threads about not having this feature implemented for non-VR users: link 1 = 9 reactions link 2 = 2 pages (mostly you posting) link 3 = 1 reaction link 4 = 29 comments This is clearly an example of a feature which is barely asked for and thus isn't anywhere to be found on the priority list of the devs which is clearly the correct move. There are other, more important issues and features that are worth their time, money and effort. I, personally, drive at an extremely high level and have several WR's using the cockpit cam. That does not prevent you from competing at a high level or anything of the sort. You also quit after playing just a few minutes. How do you expect to get used to it if you only play a few minutes? My advice to you is, drive for a decent amount of time, adjust the camera settings to what comes closest to your preference and start by driving on roads like Spain to start off with and then build up towards the bumpiest of stages like those in Argentina.

Can't connect to RaceNet? *POST HERE!*

I have the same issue. It's really beyond frustrating right now. I don't want to get into the club events because I'm afraid the bloody system will fail yet again and my times won't be recorded in clubs where there's world class competition. It's an absolute disaster. It's nearly occuring on a daily basis now. How can you, as a company, allow this to happen, is just beyond me. Such a shame as it is so fun to drive against the best in the world in the clubs I joined.

Asphalt physics : GRID (2019) vs DR 2.0

Let's look at it from this perspective: Designing liveries doesn't give anyone any advantage over someone else. It's purely cosmetic. = Allowed ACAT and physics alterations by community members have the possibility to provide a significant and unfair advantage to certain players. = Not allowed They deny access to DLC cars for livery designs because those files also contain all the other elements of the car as well which can lead to piracy and the devs losing revenue. = Not allowed It's modders that change core elements of gameplay or aspects that endanger revenue that are the reason certain things are no longer put available to the designers who don't mean any harm to the game, especially when their mods are only cosmetic. KolysioN might not have bad intentions with his mod, and others using it might not have, but it creates a situation where others can take advantage of certain aspects of the mod thus getting an unfair advantage in the game. The devs have no control over those mods and what people do with them, and I do understand that they need to protect their product and revenue. I do support an alternate way of encrypting the DLC cars so that the files livery designers need are available (4 of the 24 basically) and encrypt the ones we don't need. If we trace back to the root of the problem why things are not allowed or locked away, we find those modders that create mods offering the possibility of an unfair advantage or endangering their revenue, intentions of the modder not taken into account.

Asphalt physics : GRID (2019) vs DR 2.0

I don't break the terms of service by modding the liveries because that is accepted by the developers. Modding physics and putting in ACAT is against the terms of service and should be punished. And I do blame the right people. The DLC cars are locked because of the danger of being made available for free by those modders that break the terms of service like the person above. FYI, people complain about the physics because they don't know how the car should behave in real life, how it should be driven to behave that way or they don't know how to create setups to make them behave in a way they want them to behave based on their driving style. The baseline ingame is a descent platform to start from and further refine to your personal style.
