PC - Edited (colours/contrast) Greece is looking mighty fine.
  2. You are welcome. I take that approach as well even though sometimes a little mistake slips through the net but overall they are all completely finished when I release them. There's a form of comradery amongst fellow livery designers that's nice to see. I follow several others as well to see what they are up to and help new modders out if they have questions. I had a few weeks of holiday this summer which was the time I released quite a few liveries but now that work is in full swing again, and there are some high-level clubs I race in and need to practise for, time is very limited at the moment. Like @mesa said, keep up the good work everyone! 😄
  3. I don't think you need to worry about too many updates from @mesa. He's a very meticulous designer who creates liveries that don't need updates as they are absolutely spot on.

DiRT Rally 2.0: Livery request topic

Right @PJTierney, I'll start posting my selection of cars. Each post will concern one particular car (several liveries). The earlier the post, the more important I believe those cars/liveries are.

How did you deduce that from the first point of the groundrules? 🧐 That's clearly NOT what it says.

    Possibility of Purchasable Skins?

As was stated before, it is to protect the DLC content from modders who would extract it and make it available for free. That's the explanation I've heard.

    Possibility of Purchasable Skins?

I think they threw a lot more of their budget towards liveries + they have some pull because of the FIA backing. Not sure if that last point is something real but I would imagine it is as the liveries were used in the World Rally Championship and the FIA governs that.

New seasons (year two) or new rally game?

I've had a rough day at work and my head is killing me so... My humble apologies.

New seasons (year two) or new rally game?

Ghosts on the screen of the driver while driving through a stage is the worst idea when it comes to eSports rallying. Sure, the broadcast stream could maybe show ghost cars but definitely not on the screen of the driver itself. It's highly distracting and completely blocks the view ahead of you. Terrible idea. Racing on a circuit with other cars if vastly different, just in case you would raise that point. A circuit only has 10-15 corners while a stage has on average about 100 corners. You know exactly where the circuit goes and you have plenty more room to manoeuvre. On a stage you need to see plenty ahead an so much more.

These two beauties are a lot of fun to drive around!
  15. That shouldn't be too big of a job. I'll try to remember this and if I have some time to spare in between other designs I might be able to do it. 😉 If any other designers want to do it earlier, be my guest.

    Possibility of Purchasable Skins?

Ford basically hired M-Sport to service and maintain the cars. Once Ford pulled out, M-Sport took over the whole shebang...

    DiRTy Gossip about WRC8

There are so many reasons I wouldn't buy the game but this is probably the main one. Worst decision they could've made after everything that has happened. It's absolutely not safe to buy games from the Epic Store.

    DiRTy Gossip about WRC8

What we know for sure is that every single thing regarding sound (except for music) is not up to standard. It just sound so artificial. Also what's up with the warp sound/view when the timer hits zero and you set off in the behind the car view. And who created these particle effects, if that's what would call this, coming off the tyres in this video? Who in their right mind thought, yeah this looks properly good! Shout out to @urgaffel and his unbelievably gorgeous particle effects!

New seasons (year two) or new rally game?

System request: The kind of system you are referring to is unlikely to come from a company that is organised tje way Codemasters is which is vastly different from the companies responsible for iRacing and R3E. Codemasters are developing several titles at the same time and switches quite a few employees from project to project depending on where their skillset is needed. Meanwhile iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations (iRacing) and Sector3 Studios (R3E) only have one title they are working with. It stands to reason that the only option they have is to keep the game alive by constantly improving and keep on adding content to their title. One way of doing this is by making sure that the competitive scene is really good by implementing a system you are describing and creating live events and so much more. Implementing such a system in combination with the way the company is organised, would be really difficult to achieve. They would have to restructure and so much more to make it work for DR2.0 but also for some of their other titles like F1 2019 and so on. Competitive/eSports launch: Launching themselves onto the competitive scene right now would be a mistake. I myself drive competitively in clubs at a rather high level. Quite a few of the systems which are in place at the moment are not optimised. Even though the competitive rallying in clubs is absolutely thrilling and amazing, there are so many issues with clubs at the moment which need fixing. Things like the championship standings in clubs not updating, the random damage to the car when starting the next stage after finishing the previous one cleanly, the setup reset that happens after each stage, etc. There's so much potential in this but as I said earlier, launching now would be a major mistake because of all the things that are already going wrong in clubs right now. They are working on it though which is a good thing. It's not always as easy to accomplish as people might think. I would love to see this happening but it's just not in the cards (yet).
  20. Yes, it is and it shouldn't take too long to do this. What do you have in mind?

    DiRTy Gossip

As I mentioned a further down my post, the '01 cars will most likely be tweaked in order to compete with the '07 cars. In reality however, the '07 cars are quite a lot quicker as you would expect.

    Possibility of Purchasable Skins?

Even if the Martini colour scheme is not an option, there are plenty of official Ford liveries that they should be able to license without to much hassle like the ones driven by Delecour (2001) or Martin and Duval (2002).

    Possibility of Purchasable Skins?

After going through so much to get the 206 car in the game, the least they can do it making sure it gets a livery that it deserves.

The alcohol branding is, as we all know, no longer allowed. Same goes for tobacco branding. However, you should be able to license the colour scheme in one way or the other without the explicit branding on it. We've seen it happen in games that were released in the last 5 years. SLRE (🤢) is an example of this where the Martini colour scheme was licensed. The cars run by Ford/M-Sport have driven rallies with the Martini colour scheme on their cars while not using the Martini logo explicitely: Keep in mind that there are other gorgeously looking official liveries for this Focus. Any of the following would be a massive step up from the one we are actually getting. And licensing them shouldn't be much of an issue as they are official Ford liveries. There's barely any other sponsors on there except for Michelin/Pirelli and the ones next to the rally plates on the doors. If you remove those you still have one hell of a fantastic looking livery. And if it's not possible to get those liveries because of they weren't used on the 2001 car, you can license the one Delecour drove in 2001:
