Toyota in games where you have to license the Toyota by themselves are somewhat unlikely these days. There have been a couple of reasons mentioned for this. None confirmed. One reason that have been mentioned is that they don't like to have their cars in games where the cars can be modified. This doesn't apply to DiRT, but another reason that's been mentioned, is that car sales are down for Toyota, and they blame the fact that the "young generation" today can drive the cars in video games, and doesn't have to actually buy the cars to be able to drive them.

DiRT Rally 2.0 - In-Game Server Connectivity [CM Note: Check first post]
Myrvold replied to ChristinaMc's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
This is rather pathetic to be honest. It's seemingly worked fine, until I'm actually planning to start a daily challenge. Connects, loads the service park. But when I click "start" it's just connection failed, either retry, back or main menu. Back is back to service park. There are limits on how long I am going to let the game stand in the service menu, so I try again. No luck. I do a shakedown, go back to the service menu, try yet again. No connection failed. Oh well. Let's repair the damage from shakedown (you know, use the in-game money), and go back to the menu and try later. But no. Going back to the menu brings a big, fat, red DNF on that daily. Utterly utterly brilliant. If RaceNet had been a new thing, for DR2.0, fine. But it's not new at all. This isn't a thing that's untested. Poor showings, and it will lead to negativity and less sales. -
I've been told "weeks not months". Waiting to get RaceDepartment Rally Championship back as well!
-
That's already happened though, they might limit the lost sales by fixing it before the actual release, but that is unlikely, and will cause lower sales.
-
Correct. In addition to this, trying to join a custom online championship with a modded .nefs is a force-kick. Regardless if the modded .nefs are used or not. I tried to join RX and got kicked until I swapped back to original .nefs
-
Interesting. The nefs one is the only one I knew of (didn't really play D4 much). And it's the one I've used now. Gonna check if things work then. Like I said on our other common forum: Oh. It's not meant to be pretty, it's not meant to be cool. It's just meant to test.
-
It's very multiplatform. Xbox One / PS4 / Steam all play together. :) Isn't that a first then? You should definitely be letting the game sites know  Just mentioning it again. It is not "play together" as in jumping in an actual RX race together, one on PC, one on xBox and one on PS4. It's only the clubs that are cross-platform. So it equals to playing by yourself and uploading times to a webpage (which is what's being done in-game) :)
-
The clubs is the same as leagues in DiRT Rally. You drive on your computer, not against humans, and times are uploaded to the site. It is not directly playing with anyone online, so it should not affect them. Good to see that we don't need to set up 3 different leagues, and then merge the times together anymore, but there is nothing in this patch that will bring many people back to D4. Probably some to check out the patch, and that's it.

It's a poor article compared to the Norwegian one that came some days before this. The Norwegian one mentions: The costs per KM driving is much much lower in WRC2He feels he have something to prove to the rally-people who looks at WRX as a "retirement home" for old or not good enough rally drivers, and he feels with some proper training with pacenotes - he is willing to move to get more training by professionals - he would be able to fight with the rally guys as well. Showing that RX drivers have loads of talent, they've just chosen RX instead of e.g rally. He feels it is very important to be in RX, and preferably with a manufacturer that will move to the electric cars, as he thinks RX will go electric and that will be the big thing pretty soon. And he don't want to drop off the radar when that happens.Petter have said he is interested in signing up Bakkerud for 2018 - and that Bakkerud acknowledges it would be stupid to say now, and that the dynamic between them will be different if they drive for the same marque, team and Solberg is the team boss. For rally he feels R5 is a better choice than R2. He have more experience with 4WD, he feels the R5 are more pure racecar, and when he was driving R2, it was fun, but a bit harder to understand the cars limit, as it could withstand certain things, but not others, due to being more stock. -
Who knows. But it would be useful to know. I feel we've* been holding out for more than enough time to figure out what to do with the next season in RDRC. If they just don't get the club thing out for D4, we'll likely do another one in DiRT Rally. If they get it out for D4, we'll have a look at that, and then decide, depending on the number of players. The last thing we would like to do however, is to go for DiRT Rally, just to have the clubs patch come for D4, and somehow getting a bigger number of players there. * we = RaceDepartment. Implementing cross-platform to the DiRT Rally leagues would be a win to be honest It would, but at least this is possible to fake by using leagues for all the platforms and combine the results. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Ups Dude, this year sweden was really different than other years with full snow. He is really Fast in gravel as i said, and he is good at the other surfaces also. And he didnt win in sweden as i have said so... Relax :) I was in Sweden - I know about the condition, almost went off on a run-through on Thursday. I was just having a little cheeky remark, as if 2nd is "not much", it's kinda strange :) Cool down now :) -

Then it's a good thing that DiRT is an established franchise with a healthy console userbase! :)

Not Really. It will loose around the same as when Raikkonen left. A fanatical following, but not much else. He is not able to be fast and on the road. He have crashed 26 times in 27 events with a WRC-car. He have retired in 33% of all the rallies he have started - That is including the Rally-2 system. If it had been like pre-2005, his two seasons would've been like McRae in 99, without the victories and top 5's. I also do not agree that he is the quickest on tarmac. He was quick on some stages in Spain, he tends to have 2-3 stages each rally where it works out. But he is far from the fastest on tarmac. Also, as many Kubica-fans often point out, that he is like McRae. The difference for me, is that McRae was awesome to watch, he was on the limit, but you got a feeling of "Wow! How does he do that?" For me, watching Kubica it's more "Wow! Phew, no crash there". -

VW had Ogier and Mikkelsen as test drivers for the whole year 2012. After fighting for the title with Citroen, Ogier basically took a year off, competing only in a few events in WRC2 for Skoda. Ogier was engaged in a full wrc2 campaign missing only New Zealand ;) Yes but they tested in EVERY RALLY after the WRC events with the polo, and there were extensive test weeks I remember watching the WRC reviews the year he was driving for Skoda, and he was pushing into WRC times in a S2000 car constantly. Def not my favorite driver, but can't deny his talent. He had an insane high speed crash in the Skoda if I'm not mistaken that year also, can't find the video. Kris Meeke is my boi, but he isn't doing a full season as far as I know which sucks. So this year, I'd love to see Latvalla do better. Love that guy but he seems to have the worst luck. It was far from an S2000 car though. I'm pretty sure you see that he never scored any points outside the totals. They decided to not enter any of the Skodas in the SWRC category, as they would've been restricted. The Skoda was also a testcar together with the Polo they tested. -

Game of Chair continues, now they have to find a new co-driver for Veiby. If they keep to Norwegians, it might be Stig Rune Skjærmoen. If Veiby has a JWRC or WRC2 campaign i think that Emil Axelsson will be the man who will sit with ole, but i think maybe he will do just WRX Well, I called it :) -
Skoda Fabia!! Now that would've been lovely!
-
Different promoter, FIA is the governing body of both. Which is how Petter Solberg is able to be the only person in the history that have World Titles in two different FIA Car Racing World Championships (apparently))

What's up with Leagues? We're looking at potential new functionality, but obviously very keen to fix anything that's broken. We have no chance of choosing to to use custom or fixed setupWe have no chance of choosing to use career engineers/mechanics or notWe have no chance of choosing career vehicles, or already fully upgraded.I do think those options were meant to come with the 1.0 release, instead we as league owners have to choices at all. And are stuck with fully upgraded cars (which is great to be fair), no mechanics - which means we can only fix around 4-5% of one part on each service. Which in turn means we have to use service after every single stage to be able to fix the cars somewhat. But they always wear more than can be fixed, even when going through a stage at 60 km/h without any crashes. And we always have to use default setup, which for me, is no big problem, that's what I use anyway. But it's not good.

Ah, the "promised" RaceNet things, that they would try, and hope to get ready for the end of Early Access. My big issue with it, is the lack of info when it didn't work out at all.

That will most likely be Veiby. But as his dad, is the boss of EVEN Management, who have Andreas Mikkelsen, Pontus Tidemand and Esapekka Lappi in the stable, I don't think Veiby will move away from rallying. Axelsson was confirmed to leave Tidemand, before Jæger took the spot alongside Mikkelsen, quoted as "Getting new responsibilities as duties". I don''t think they knew everything back then. -

Am I the only only disappointed with the Lancer? I would rather like more cars in the existing classes, instead of getting yet another class :/

Sure? One is Arcade, and one is rally. There was some other skins in the Arcade if I don't recall completely wrong. Also, I had the EU version, and I had normal Impreza in rallying.
