real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship

I know who isn't driving for MSport next year lol -
I would love a new location as DLC, and agree that due to the way the staggered release played out, it is too early for for any discussion of a new game. Especially if Evolution Studios will be involved in development in any way.

I just got back from holiday. Did I miss anything?

Smoke eh? I am sure this is for tire smoke on tarmac, but since this is a gossip thread... CAR FIRES CONFIRMED!

Cool thanks for posting that. “especially on the Xbox One where you get the motors in the triggers that allow us to give you more feedback for wheel spin and brake lock ups.” You can do this on PC too, I would love this feature.

I would love to see an electric car added to the PP lineup seeing what an important class they are becoming to the race.

Interesting, could this possibly be related to the new checkpoint system? Perhaps the league is not saving after finishing an event, so it put you back at the first checkpoint, allowing you to re-run? There is already a much easier exploit to restart stages, so I was hoping the checkpoint system would resolve this, but I have yet to implement checkpoints in an event. Thanks for bringing this to light Ivy, hopefully the DR team will get to the bottom of it. Would really rather focus on fixing the holes than singling out individuals, as a league admin I have to be able to give people the benefit of the doubt as I don't have the tools to enforce the restart rules beyond what I am given by RaceNet.

You can join more than 6 leagues but only your 6 most recently joined will show up in game. I think. Yup, you can join more than 6 and active ones will cycle thru ingame. Simmoniti is our Seb Loeb

I suspect a lifetime of repeated TBIs (concussions) had a role in his depression. I think the links between brain injury and mental illness will become stronger as more research is done.
-
Sort of surprised that the leagues will be segregated, figured the RaceNet would be used to combine them. But then again, MS is notorious for not letting devs use third party services from within Xbox games.

The great irony being that the meta discussion about what belongs in this thread does not fit the stated criteria and thus does not belong in this thread.

Pre-historic plants have had a huge impact on the sport. Without them there would be no rally, or it would look vastly different than it does today. This is due to pre-historic plants are now oil that is refined to power rally cars. I hear the next dirt title will have an advanced oil drilling and refinery simulation.

oh boy, here we go again... E2 22B

The GRC is only slightly less "Global" than the "World" Rallycross championship that has only 2 rounds outside of Europe, or the "World" Rally Championship with it's whopping 3 non-European rounds in 2015.

Ford is trying to sell cars worldwide, so I think they way they put their effort into contingency programs of the Fiesta R2 worldwide is really smart. Same with Subaru, they haven't been in the WRC for years, but they have an awesome contingency program and they dominate the national scenes, so they are still synonymous rally performance. Since the WRC is now basically another European championship with a couple rounds overseas, it has lost a lot of relevance for manufacturers that want to target markets outside the EU. -
I think the obvious addition Paul is happy about is the Reliant Robin. Think about it, it just makes sense.

Yup, in the US DiRT never had Colin McRae branding, most people that played the CMR series in the US would probably have been surprised to find out he was a rally driver and not a game designer. As far as gossip goes, both the 555 and the Martini liveries would be equally something that I could see suits being uncomfortable with, as anything smoking and drinking related has rating repercussions associated with them. Obviously that 22B with the 555 livery (without the 555 itself) is the natural fit.

What's up with Leagues? We're looking at potential new functionality, but obviously very keen to fix anything that's broken. The repair system is broken, you can only repair like 2% of the car. Some kind of bug, it doesn't use your engineers. There are other issue(s) also I just can't think of it right now. @enamel help me out here League settings that do not have a means of selecting them are: Owned Vehicles Career Engineers Vehicle Tuning I guess you could call the ability to change these values a feature that hasn't been added yet instead of a bug, but yeah it makes leagues very "fair" at the moment. Everyone gets the same upgrades, no engineers, and stock setups. Press on regardless I suppose!

The MX vs ATV series did terrain deformation pretty well, you would have lines that got too rutted out during a race and you had to switch lines, or the opposite, a rut formed that you could rail a corner in. For rally tho, I don't see why people would want road sweeping in the game, it is the one thing drivers consistently complain the most about through the decades, no matter how much they change the running order rules.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I was trying to get into rFactor and was getting destroyed in the straights. After many hours I accidentally discovered my pedal was goofing up and I was only hitting 92% throttle max.

The issue with the lagging during the stream is that if you are not a Twitch partner, all viewers are locked into the settings of the streamer. So if the streamer has a high quality stream, all the viewers have to have the internet bandwidth to handle the data and the CPU to handle decoding. The issue with skipping on the replay? No idea.

Makes me wonder what the marketing output around the 1.0 was. Not a peep on CM news section http://www.codemasters.com/news/ No post highlighting the release on the CM or Dirt blog, only the road books, which is just noise to a news outlet https://www.dirtgame.com/uk/blog The last press release I see on Gamasutra is from the Finland release http://www.gamasutra.com/search/index.php?search_text=Codemasters&submit=Search&from_press=Y I have a feeling the general press has no clue about the release because CM's marketing hasn't told anyone it is out of early access.

Glad to know Citroen has the funding to let Meeke wad up cars for three more years!
