I think they are going to have a hard time fitting three people in it.

I want to love destiny, but destiny doesn't love me. Figured the console release would be a no-brainer, I am hoping the league play will be cross platform.

That's really impressive, good on Rockstar. I still have my original Civilization that came on like 10-12 floppies, I didn't realize there were still games that came like that. That is what I assumed since there is always a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth from people that like physical media. Like the latest Star Wars game that didn't even have a disc at all in the physical box. But I am totally out of the loop when it comes to buying physical releases. The last physical box I bought was rFactor 1.

I doubt the box will contain the game at all, we are up to what 35+ Gb? Unless they ship it on 5 dual layer DVDs, the box will contain a download code. Assuming people even have an optical drive in their PC, it has been several years since I have.

More useless facts: I was standing about 30 feet to the right when this picture was taken. This was Subaru's only win in the GRC ever, mostly due to Subaru's being slow.

Lets not forget that Kubica was the WRC2 champion in 2013 in an RRC, which is very close to WRC spec. He has also shown great outright speed and I definitely think he deserves to be in the WRC. However I think him wanting to run his own team due to his sponsorship deal is hurting him.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Would love to see the PP stages (and reverse options) available for custom rally, but I believe either that or allowing rally cars in hillclimb mode will come at one point. Hopefully both. However, I'm pretty certain there was never a 'hillclimb update' scheduled on the timeline. Personally, I'm glad for that as I prefer the rally content. Well the funny thing is, to me it seems like they could do that fairly easily, but they've kind of said it's not happening. I feel like they released PP and everyone hates hillclimb so much for some reason that they basically pulled the plug on it. I honestly feel like the hillclimb and rallycross events were added as more of a proof of concept for the platform. Some of the stuff Paul has said points to the entire project being a more experimental project for the company, so it makes sense that they put in RX and hillclimb as ideas that they want to try, even if they didn't want to spend the resources to fully flesh them out with content. I think they knew authentic rally was the easy sell for the enthusiast community, so they rebuilt the game with this in mind but also wanted to prove that the base platform could expand into related disciplines. I would not be surprised if this foundation is used in a game with more mainstream appeal, but keeping the fidelity they have put into DiRT Rally. It is interesting and telling in how the language has changed over the course of development from the intial "check out our new game and see what you think, we are not sure if it will be popular enough to port to consoles" to the console port now being all but announced, and Paul talking about the future of the platform and its expansion in future versions. The above is total conjecture of course, but this is how I see the project from my outside view.

This was the devs wishlist, there are cars on that list that are confirmed to not be coming to the game.

I propose Coleman's Law: Every discussion on the DiRT Forums will eventually devolve into a discussion of the internal designations of Imprezas.

Can't really speak to the ban on alcohol or tobacco in real racing, but I could definitely see not wanting it in the game since it carries an ESRB 'E - Everyone' rating and having Martini in the game would push the rating into at least 'T - Teen' due to alcohol references. The Martini stripes are most likely considered something similar to a trademark called "trade dress" and include things like specific colors and even sounds. The "potato-potato" sound a Harley-Davidson makes is an example of registered trade dress. On top of that graphic designs themselves are protected by copyright even if they are not considered registered or unregistered trademarks.

So what do you guys think will be included in the Steamworks integration? IIRC Paul eliminated the possibility of stages and cars a while back. Liveries maybe?

I honestly thought they were talking about Audis. Scratching my head as to why someone would want to rally an Audi S5.

I guess you still can exit the stage if you F up and have another go? So no restarts is a truth with modification. Perhaps if you Alt + F4 it. I have done that before, but for 128 stages, what's the point? You're car will still be ruined by the end! It is 8 events with 16 stages per event, so technically you get 8 services across the 128 stages. If you crash out, you can come back in the next week. Unless they have settings that normal leagues don't have that is. Going to try to run it even tho I don't have a snowballs chance in hell at scoring points in any event hah!

I see, I didn't get that memo. Well conjecture on *whatever* new game mechanic they would use actual zero cars for is vastly more interesting to me then teasing a couple new cars, so this is the part where I take my disappointment and wait quietly and patiently for Makinen's EVO.

I think S2000 cars have a perfect place in the game. Not as 'modern' content, but as 'iconic' content. The game's car choices have been all about capturing icons from memorable eras, and the IRC battles between Peugeot and Skoda (and Fiat) were certainly one of those. I think you might be mixed up though; general consensus wasn't S2000, I don't believe, but a 2000s class; WRC cars from 2000-2009. Ah, I was mixed up, you are right. The term "zero car" has a very specific meaning in rally tho, so I was really surprised to see people interpreting it as anything other than the rally organizer car that opens the stage.
