yes EA brought codemasters for 1,2 billion dollars or £900 million. how this will effect cody games dunno. i must say codies used to seem like you were playing a family game. last couple years you could deffo feel that going away and it being all about profit. not saying thats all the people there there is some really genuine people who are really cool but the general feel is we are big lets make money. this comes out in the games. sadly as above ^^^ many here who are the diehards play for that very close feeling around the games. maybe we will be surprised...the games in the future may turn out better.. hope so. would be a shame to finally start to get somewhere with the sim side of dirt rally only for it to get diluted down to ken blockism rally.

yah this been on the cards for a while . it is a odd and weird situ to be in. will it become dirt 5 every year or will the sim side carry on. its wierd to be thinking like this but codies always been its own thing but they been gathering assets just to get brought out by EA. lots of money i guess.

set ups personally i think you should have someone like jon go through the whole range and dial in the defaults. apart from the just lower everything to the floor and all the way right. about the only set up you need many people make set ups or videos on set ups and tbh many are useless or worse than default.

most people in most racing rally games want the real locations. the problem is who owns the rights to em. its a shame this locks off companies from doing whats wanted. hopefully with the wrc license this may change and we get all the real locations and events. so many big locations we just havent had which are iconic and many people wanted for years. keep your 15 minute long event. give me real locations in corsica , manx , monte , japan and all the rest. going to be interesting how this is dealt with along with hopefully toyota coming back.

more entertaining short technical stages will always be played more than 10 + minute events. realistically the amount of people playing the longer events will be miniscule. its like anything. if you dont have it you want it ! the reality is though. literally no one would play super long stages. as most people want fast fun exciting events in short amounts of time they can handle. incoming next person saying but i want super long stages.....probably jzstudios lol.

as ive looked into this more it really does look good. might even get the wheel back out for this one. been waiting for some one to get nords done. many people are rating the handling as well. also on offer right now.

can you play single player do time trial on nords ? wanted ACC to do this but you just get its not part of the calender from all the diehards who forgot that AC was so popular because nords was in it. if can do time trial would buy this game instant. like dirt should of done or got isle of man tt course. imagine that flat out with cars. would be amazing.

so you think they totally remade dirt in one year ? okay. just leave it there. look at the history. every thing goes against that since the games began. its always been tweak bolt on to exisiting tech. blah blah just use english to get out of the reality.

you seem to be missing or making your own point without realizing what you putting or are realizing what you saying to benefit your own reply. they arent making new engines for each games regardless just adjusting so it works. simple. i didnt say the game hasnt been updated or engine since the 360 you just did. so you made a bad arguement not me. you are just making plus points to your own debate. no one said stagnate i said make something right and it dont need updating. simple. you just said cod cods been updated every year for last nearly 20 years. so it makes no sense. painting mona lisa is a simple eg of why you dont change whats right. simple to understand. no early access with passion made a game better than a designed well budgeted game. that speaks volumes. yeah dirt rally 1 tarmac early on was better than when it was updated. proving exactly what i said.

the thing is even if it isnt based on a center pivot the point is it feels like it when driving. if someone actually admits to it who makes it i will be highly suprised.

well they dirt games are arent they. regardless if its dirt or dirt rally they just alternate. something has got to be put out and they arent going to start from scratch to make a whole new physics engine. it will be things tweaked but still have the same sort of flaws underneath. not really true about you have to update things. if its right in the first place its right ! what you just said is actually the worst thing in gaming ! it ruins some of the best games ever made. you dont paint the mona lisa for eg. then 5 years later oh...lets just add a hat. this happens in so many games. h1z1 for eg was the bees knees one big update everyone stopped playing it over night. people are working being paid what you done this week or month oh i made this right lets add that . regardless of whether it actually makes the game better but someones been working paid so it goes in. ends up making the game worse than it was. so when a games great dont ! update it. or at least ask yourself does it really make the game better ? Dirt rally for eg and the tarmac. early on.

this makes me chuckle thinking back to testing and our debates 😁 center pivot been in cody games from as far back as i can think. it would be nice to take a whole new fresh approach but i dont see it happening as it often takes years and titles have to come out yearly now. also many people wont even notice certain flaws in physics as they just simply wont push that hard to notice on the edges. so for avg joe its more than good enough. this was apparent in testing for eg i was testing a ford and i could feel the back end was totally wrong could feel pendulmn yet some where saying it wasnt really a issue or couldnt feel it. at the end of the day who do you cater for ? niche small numbers or mass avg joe ? why spend 3 years on handling to make it amazing when one year for a whole new game suits majority of the fan base or good enough so they like it.

no dont worry yourself. there has been a shift recently. many here feel it. whats kinda frustrating and we could go deep here is the actual loyal people and supporters who know what and why works and what should be done or some idea of it listened to. beta team for old game all unfollowed on twitter at same time. because of clutter. all old beta team unfollowed at same time unfollowed. i typed that twice because its so apparent its clear as day why. the very people who want the best for codemaster games and put in effort wiped. slate clean get youtubers in and content creators in who will push this garbage. i get why....really do. money. thing that makes it bad is its not what codemasters is. the very ethos or was......is not whats now. this is why many left moved on. its like get rid or they leave which is the very heart or passionate about codemasters games. understand deadlines but you left with a heartless product. worst thing is people are getting paid high end wages when i could of told you this in seconds.... whether it works or not anyone high up stop ! realize whats going off . if you have anything about you. realize it. imagine a project spending millions and i could tell you within 1 minute if it will work. baffles me. someone is signing off on spending millions of codemasters money to make a game yet doesnt even understand if it will be a success. if you cant dont understand what codemaster players want how the f cant you sign off on doing that ?

yeah i think the rush powers that be wanted it done for eggbox. you can tell many things are not finished or as should be. also the best recording in dirt games is done from replays. it just shows you whoever is making these decisions doesnt know their own games. or...its a case of people upstairs just saying that goes out regardless. if thats the case sooner or later this will bite you in the ass.

sorry its not good enough. developers studios need to stop with this bs of just pushing stuff out for release when its not ready. the only reason people get away with it is because its games or software. any other products you would be sued. its a driving game ! no wheel support. how fing lazy is that ? dont move goal posts its lazy as fook. really is. before ....wheel support is coming...yeah let people wait a month after buying it to play the game. how about wait launching it a month then doing it ...oh ...wait that would mean theyd get less money.

a tripple AAA driving game not having wheel support at launch is a joke. i just dont get how it can even happen.

a simple way around the lack lustre tarmac handling or the feel would to just narrow stages down. if you arent driving down 3 car motorways and only car width events you wouldnt feel the exagerated bad handling . it would just be small sharp movements. it would even make it more exciting. i do long for fast narrow events such as ireland italy many places across the planet. for some reason dirt just seems to avoid doing these type of events. tarmac has to made better for the next game or given a high enough priority to be devled into with enough time to make it far better than it is. whether its deemed worth it or not i guess we will see in the next game. its the only real thing missing from making dirt rally games the best on the market. thing is WRC events will be interesting as many of those are narrow stages. so it will be interesting if this will be followed or the wider event style will still happen for the masses.

thats the problem with figures. 500 - 1 million. thats a big gap. actual users who play would be great. https://steamcharts.com/app/690790 9 million, 2000 online. daily. on pc. marketing exercise most likely. i wonder if trials and such are counted or just sales. on consoles its been free or trial a lot. still a good thing. gets the brand known.

balancing across classes would make the game so much more fun gameplay wise. once people realize which car is the quickest in each class then the majority of people will only use the fastest car. which means many of the cars which are often more fun to drive wont be driven. it has been mentioned for years about this. the delta can be like 10 seconds quicker. not really realistic. 1 second in it you could say this or that car is faster and believe it but when its so big a difference it does effect the gameplay and classes.
