  1. Agreed, but i'm not talking about that bug, which i don't really suffer from, i'm talking about bitrate of the output, it's terrible in places/patches in the picture.
It depends on which program you're using to record. Yeah, I'm aware that Shadowplay have this issue with DR as well. Something like Fraps or Bandicam with Lagarith Lossless Codec should maintain stable video bitrate, but you need a decent hardware and plenty of free space on your HDD.
i dont mind doing it i record daily ;) max quality no issue or high fps. :)

    @KickUp
I think this hasn't been asked yet:

Is the video material we have seen so far considered final graphical quality or is there constant improvement going on?
How about things like draw distance, vegetation density, track details etc. is this still being worked on?
Has it been improved from Dirt Rally? (I read about lighting being improved)

I once read a paper about how Codemasters managed to improve grass rendering for Grid Autosport and was very impressed..  :-)
    Still such magic going on?

We have a whole heap of improvements to make but there are also optimisations that will ensure the best possible performance. As a result I think it will look a bit better but we can't push things too hard or the performance will get affected.
@KickUp will motion blur be removed ? last time it was tied in.it is the evil in video games.

Look how many studios have tried (and failed) to jump on the bandwagon since D:R EA.

Oh dear Milestone....   Not again!  lol
haha i seen some of the baja trucks racing yesterday on gravel.dirt 2 did this better in 2009 ! how can you make a game in 2017 look and be worse thabn a game from 2009. :p

Whilst we wait, Assetto Corsa has just added the Audi Sport quattro S1 E2, and a new fictional, multi-course Scottish circuit. It's quite fun, but they forgot to enable the handbrake in the Audi. DOH!
I think it feels quite nice to drive and well... I already had to render it because the model is so beautiful! :joy: (Sorry for off-topic...)

I've literally been playing with this for hours today! It sounds fantastic inside the cockpit, it's great fun trying to tame it. I had to put my racing boots on as the soles of my feet were starting to hurt from changing gear  :D
How does it feel to drive?  Get a replay up!!
Its great fun, sounds epic and is very fast. Its got a good amount of understeer and oversteer so you do have to work with it. Tried it on Nordschliefe, addictive!
in some ways or views it sounds good others it sounds like a hairdrier.looks good model wise but i take dirts handling over it any day.like driving a hovercraft on butter.

@kickup hey i was wondering if spain is more winding like monte carlo or more square cornered like germany?
Fast flowing tarmac with some junctions and towns. Something like this: https://youtu.be/WFKPXgntpkg
see how that car sticks to the tarmac im hoping thats what we have.

is the motion blur still in or option to turn off ?

On Xbox, the Kontinjarvi record for Grp B & R4 are only a few seconds difference.  Shouldn't be the case

The Grp B would be simulated to be among the lightest cars in the game, the R4 simulated to be heaviest.

Weight in the simulation seems to act purely or mainly as a vertical force only, returning to centre too readily across all cars.
The greater weight of the R4 Evo pulling it in a downward direction, means it has abundant usable grip which makes it easy to drive, but far too fast/grippy at speed.  Gigi Galli would be bored with a D:R Evo X :P

As the Grp B car is lighter, with less gravitational grip, the lateral forces (g force) have a greater influence on the cars behaviour and the car moves around in a more natural realistic way.  The tyre model works well with the Group B weight.  Brake lock ups mean understeer, punching the throttle mid corner means big oversteer & that's accurate

Mechanical grip is increased in a heavier car but that shouldn't make it faster in the real world.
My guess is that lateral (g) force needs a multiplier that increases to the value of simulated weight, causing larger lateral forces in heavier cars which can then overcome the greater vertical grip they produce

R4's should be easier to drive, but because of the greater lateral forces with the additional weight, Steering inputs on gravel should feel muted & indirect especially on wide open throttle or heavy braking.  Grip loss should happen earlier, be more progressive & slower and more adjustable by transferring weight.

Group B should feel mental & kinda do on the slower sections, but 125mph Quattro power-slides should be there to be tamed...

    :)
r4 scooby in dirt rally was bang on the evo a bit odd.

  7. Very, very proud to show you all our brand new DiRT Show episode! There's still Darren and Paul on a sofa (of course, would it even be a DiRT Show without it), but Kris Meeke and Petter Solberg also made the cut this time. :)

    https://youtu.be/cREEx-6zX_s
was a great show just watched it all. one thing i noticed and put on twitter is you all looked like you enjoy doing it ! thats the difference between half assed games and great games.the really good games have the right people behind them who enjoy love doing it. everyone looked excited , happy to be doing it. chris and petter were great and the video was well made.

nice one . look forward to the next ones.

According to Christina the DiRT show should be up within the next 2 hours!
    whats this ?

  9. a save replay of best runs would be great like in many car games. if you record regular like i do for instance you have to record all the time.with just a save replay or playback of that run it would save so much effort.

assetto has it.rbr had it. would be nice if dirt 4 does.or could add it.

  10. i think they realize that it can be implemented.just is it worth it ~?

last few years the salesmen been pumping it hard and if we honest its no where.the VR revolution is a long way away yet. 5 -10 years yet. why ?

as i have said for a few years.they are two big. they need to be spectacle size.they are too expensive.they are pretty new.so even if you can afford them is it worth buying what will be succeeded every six months . also the game support is pretty small amongst mainstream titles.

also those of us who are older will remember this tech has been tried for 25 years or more. it will come its just not yet. so while i get some are sad probably because they brought them already and it works its just not the time for VR.
