I hesitate between this configuration and the Volant TX Racing Ferrari 458 Italia Edition i don t think i will use the clutch . Thanks

Hi all, so, some sad news for you - today is my last day at Codemasters. I just wanted to say thanks for all the gossip, speculation, support, and everything in between; it's been an absolute pleasure serving you as your Community Manager for the last 3.5 years, and our DiRT games are all the better for having you all involved. It's incredibly bittersweet leaving, but I just wanted to come here and say, very sincerely: thanks for everything. No other words cover it, except thank you.

I hope you guys have enjoyed the latest announcement for GRID, and while I'm super chuffed that it was one of the last things I got to work on, my heart will always belong to DiRT. Just know there are so many cool things in store for DiRT Rally 2.0... I'm really looking forward to being on the other side of all the cool announcements and content drops. I'll see you all on the leader boards (albeit quite low down!)

    All the best,
    Christina

Thank you for everything you've done.

Not taking sides here, but I remember you hated the tarmac in DR1. Or was that before handling 2.0 or whatever name they used for the big handling update?

Yes, this was V1 handling. The cars had a little too much grip but the movement was extremely good.

With all due respect how it looks is of moot point because the graphics engines and physics engines in games don't always align. Its easy to praise something that is a marked improvement on the previous effort.

Also, can people not compare 'modded' RBR when talking about stages and physics. Literally means nothing to a majority of people playing literally any rally game.

No, it's not moot because it looked 95,000% better in DR1 before they ruined it.

    And who mentioned RBR?

if you set up your car correctly , it only slides if you exagerate......  👍

It still doesn't look or feel even remotely realistic, so please stop praising it. You don't even need to look at a replay for 5 seconds before seeing that something is seriously wrong.

Could be, but at least it has that similar whine unlike the C4. The C4 afaik used the same engine as the Xsara (at least on the first years) and it's not even close.

That would be because it's using the Mini Countryman sound from DR1, presumably also as a placeholder.

Fantastic sound as well (at least on the Skoda it's close to the real thing)

Skoda most definitely does not sound close to the real thing. Probably because it's using the sound of the 2007 Ford Focus WRC as a placeholder. 😉

Corsica is quite similar to Spain, fast, wide and flowing. I’d rather have something single lane like Ireland or Germany or Ypres

That's not the Corsica I remember from the WRC calendar. The rally of a thousand corners. Extremely narrow, bad roads. Endless blind corners. Have they changed location?

So burning questions time: Why is the Evo VI still in Grp A? Create a "millenial"-class please for all late 90's and (DLC-)early-00's maybe?

As far as I remember, the Mitsubishi was in the Group A category until 2001 when their world rally car was introduced. Pretty sure they were the last ones in the gang to do this, the other manufacturers having converted in 1997.

I was very critical of the footage I've seen on tarmac and it still bothers me when looking at the videos. However I preordered the game and will go to see for myself if my critics where to harsh and that it is like DR1 or that it is actually an improvement over DR1. The reports in here and the latest YT vids give at least the idea it has changed for the better. We'll see in a couple of weeks :)
The current tarmac handling is better than DR. Not that it takes much to accomplish this.
    Movement is still poop though.
Is there any chance this could be improved throughout DLCs? The important thing now is to get the game polished and out.
No, the important thing is to have basics like that covered before release. But that's just the opinion of a bitter old fart.

jon said on instagram that the longest stage of the game is 20 km...
    Link?
That would seriously open up the possibility, that we might get Full-Length stages of the DR1 DLCs. 20km full Col de Turini, 20km Sweden, or 20km Panzerplatte plus extra Vineyard-stage maybe...?
    Stop getting me aroused!
    Keep making him aroused!

    That's a great movie.
I always keep a spare mouse in my wallet for occasions such as this.

Ostberg in a Citroen R5 for WRC2 Pro for the season, starting in Sweden. Personally feel it's a pity Gronholm is in a WRC car and not a WRC2 one where he could properly compete.

Oh, also, Fernando Alonso is due to test the Yaris WRC later this year.
Nahhh, Marcus should retire with a bang in the top class imo. It will be extremely interesting to see what he can do. Marcus and Sweden is a special combo.
The realist in me don't see him scoring any top results. Dude's 50 years old. I would love to be proven wrong, though... he was a very late bloomer, after all.
