  1. Ok, so I have tried several adjustments, both on the pc and the tv. I have a Samsung 4K tv set to "game mode".

This is probaly not a bug or an error, but the game is definately muchĀ more sensitive to settings affecting black levels, than most other games.

I changed the colourĀ space on the tv (from the default setting "native" to "auto") andĀ adjusted the brightness a bit up (from 50 to 55). That enabled me to use full RGB range without having the extreme darkness in shadow portions etc. in the game. The brightness adjustment screen in the game is a good reference. The leftmost Dirt-logo should be barely visible with brightness set to 1.00. If it isn't, something's off.

So I think my conclusion is that my settings wereĀ bad, but not nearly bad enough to manifest itself into problems in other games. My settings now look better altogether in all games, so this was a useful experience. šŸ™‚

  2. I tried fiddling around with both color depth, tv settingsĀ and the HDR level setting, but nothing works, except setting RGB dynamic range to "limited".

The problem is probably limited to specific setups, including mine. In daylight, the trees roadside often appearĀ as black shadows.

I'm running an Nvidia GTX970 and a Samsung LED TV, but I'm not running anything in HDR mode, just regular 1080p.

  3. I experience problems with full RGB range enabled. Dark areas are way too dark, and some of the bright areas are way too bright. The brightness control inside the game doesn't look right either, as the leftmost Dirt-logo is invisible.

When setting either the graphics card or screen (or both) toĀ limited RGB range, everythingĀ looksĀ correct, although with less contrast.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

  4. I often stall the engine when using manual H-pattern shifter and manual clutch, especially when locking the wheels while I'm getting a little airborne. Good so far, that would happen in real life as well.

But when the car gets back on the ground, still at 80 km/h in 4th gear with no brakes applied, the wheels lock up with the engine still stalled. I then have to press the clutch and the throttle to get the engine running again. That's just not right. In this situation, when you're back on the ground, the wheels would immediately turn the engine over, starting it again. No engine has this amount of compression, that the wheels lock up like this.

I could use automatic clutch to avoid the whole issue, but as long as manual clutch is available, this should be corrected. It's really annoying.

  5. Agree, the game could benefit from having a couple more rally locations. The car roster is pretty good as it is, it has basically all my favourite cars. I just need more places to drive them...

The game is reasonably priced, and close to perfect, so I'm confident that people would be more than happy to pay for more content. I know I would.

  6. The problem also applies for me, when I have multiple controllers attached and bind keys to different controllers. G27 with TH8A shifter and button box doesn't save key bindings for me.

It probably works if I use only the G27 and map all buttons there.

  7. After the new update with cockpit camera adjustments and automatic selection of sequential/H-pattern depending on the car chosen, this is looking very, very bright. :)

Now, I hope you can address the issue with controller settings not saving, this applies to a lot of people when using a non-default setup with more than one device connected. Just check the forums, a lot of posts about it.

  8. Same here. I have a G27 with TH8A shifter and a separate button box. I use the keyboard profile and customise it. The key mappings and all profiles are gone when I restart the game.

Sometimes they are saved, but usually they are gone. And even when they seem to be saved when I restart the game once, the next time I start the game they are gone.

It seems to me that most of the people having this problem are using multiple controllers, i.e. G27+TH8A, or non-supported controllers.

This has to be resolved soon, controller setup being bugged like this is amateur night!

I think the vote options are worded wrong. Hot seat is a great multiplayer option, especially for people who sit on the couch and play with their friends. Is it "Of course we need" feature, no, but it does give a lot of fun if you have friends to use it with.

Personally I use a rig with triples, and I like hot seat multiplayer, and so does my friends who do not have as good of a setup as I do. Ever since Geoff Grammond GP series, I have been a big fan of hot seat, so deffinetly voting yes!

It's most fun when you have a good rig and your friends don't... That way you can actually compete on even terms. :)

  10. I have a G27 wheel, a TH8A shifter and a buttonbox. I need to use keyboard to navigate menus.

The only way I have found to achieve this, is to select the "keyboard" profile and editing the setup.

However, these settings aren't saved, and I have to redefine them every time I start the game.

It is also necessary to add "controller id" to the setup, so that I can see which controller each command is assigned to.

  11. I already suggested "custom chamionship", and within this feature we should also have the classic "hot seat multiplayer". This allows two, four or more players to compete locally on one computer, taking turns to drive each of the stages in the custom championship or custom event.

  12. I love classic rally cars, and I almost exclusively race these. Because of this, I would of course like more of them:

    Renault 5 Maxi Turbo (80's RWD/Group B ),
Citroen BX 4TC (Group B, mentioned in another poll),
    Alpine A110 (60's/70's),
    Ford Escort MK1 (60's),
    Volvo Amazon 121 (60's),
    Opel Kadett GT/E (70's),
    Opel Ascona 400 (80's RWD),
    Lancia 037 (80's RWD),
    Opel Manta 400 (80's RWD),
    Volvo 240 Turbo (80's RWD).

I could go on forever, but this is a good start with some essential cars. You don't have to agree on all of the cars, but just the general idea of classic cars. Some of them could be mentioned in other polls, but I haven't spotted them. Sorry for any unintentional double posting.

  13. We need an option to create a custom championship, so that you can set up a complete, custom rally season with your own preferences, without having to use the progressive career mode. For example, I would like to play a season of 6 stages in each of the three current locations, using the 70's cars. I do not want to accumulate credits and stuff to be able to do that, and I would like to choose for myself the stages and cars I want to be included in the season/championship.
