Overtake and fuel is more effective over a race distance. If you have it on auto you lose that strategy during the race.

Tbh I put a lot into 2006 the last they did too though they really went all out arcade there. But the remaster F1 Championship Edition for PS3 I still own and still looks like a real TV broadcast! Replays are just stunning with Sony going all out. I'd love that style of graphics again, just massively realistically smooth would be amazing and yes the 2002/04 were much more sim compared to the arcade standards of before, tricky to master and very rewarding, including really nice rewards, I still have the PS2 with the extra disc with FULL season highlights just just gave free with the game! Though the play function is pretty buggy!
But today there is no denying what Codemasters has accomplished with advancements on AI (not including backmarkers, they still get weird on us), it would be nice to hear what EA have planned, if they are rebuilding from scratch then how are they going to treat the AI system, because it took years for Codemasters to perfect it, EA won't get it right off the bat, no company can when its back to basics. We will go through all the teething together, then if EA do perfect the AI will they then sell it for another to rebuild? History always repeats. So I'm hoping EA are really thinking hard on its direction. I want smooth graphics, but I'd take slightly grainy over perfect wheel to wheel AI right now. There is no greater feeling in a racing game than earning a clean battle race with a tough but fair AI. I'm also concerned of microtransactions since a few of EAs latest releases have resembled that of the sickeningly corrupt mobile gaming world..
They’d be foolish IMO to start from scratch. They have a good base to build on now. The cash injection and man power alone will help the series.

So a hybrid of the old turn that they changed to slow things down.

If they allow CM access to their resources and better funding then it could be a well polished game. If they want to dig their claws in though then it'll be loot boxes and Ultimate F1 team, buying cards for engines, upgrades and drivers.

EA are about to put in a bid too!

The halo overlay is a F1 graphic not Sky Sports

Yes this. Look for the thread on AI adjustment and you’ll see.

Is your fuel drained out? Run the car on max from the off. Save your battery and then stick on hot lap just before the final corner.

I think the halo debate can now be put to bed. Clear that it saved his life yesterday. Grosjean himself said he was a doubter.

Yes he’s over 80 points ahead in my game. Granted Lewis had 3 DNFs in a row from Bahrain but he’s been way ahead.

Yes 2022 will be the full next gen game. Bit like 2015 was a flop but 2016 was much better.
I’d hate to see more micro transactions. When you pay £65 for a next gen game and then additional cash to gain stuff, frustrates those who don’t have that money let alone the principal of not handing over additional cash.
Yes the game needs a overhaul and is needed. With the power these new consoles bring it need to be utilised. How that will look will be interesting. A more immersive race weekend? The base game is there and visually 19 and 20 look much better. However the little things need looking at. Safety Car can be refined better, the wet weather transition needs to be longer and not a script. That’s just a toe in the water.

Maybe next gen. I think it’ll take a lot for this set of consoles.
Who knows what 2022 will bring with full next gen

This has been discussed for years. I remember Steve Hood saying it wasn’t being put in as players didn’t want to get lap 59 of 61 for example and lose the race. Didn’t realise that this was what people wanted

For all these years, every single edition, people ask questions about this here and every time they blame Microsoft.
So what now? This is 2020. Next gen consoles are already here. Please, don't tell us we will need to find adaptors and an old used Kinnect from 2013 to be able to do something that on Windows and PlayStation people can do with any cheap headset!
Don't forget the game was designed for the Xbox One which as you state is limited to Kinect voice command.
When the F1 game is built for the next gen, then I suspect we'll see a change.

I’m going to add to this. I was completing Singapore FP3. Bit of context as it started dry but quickly went wet. it dried out at the end with 6 minutes left so everyone went into the pits bar Gasly. So he completes his first two laps and was completing lap 3 when the session ended.
If you look at the video, his first sector is a 27.586 and then the session ends. Not surprised he jumped ahead of me with the usual ending session bug but wondered where he gained the time because it wasn’t stand out as the track was transitioning.
You’ll see he completed an additional THREE LAPS!
We all know weird things go on with skipping but @BarryBL three laps?

Have they added the safety car?
The weather report is not meant to be 100% right just like IRL.

The customisable car now has 11 slots for sponsor decals
Can anyone explain or show me in-game about what this really means? (I really wanna know but I won't be at home anytime soon arghhhh 😱)
Just means you can save 11 different liveries. So could save each season decal for nostalgia

Morning @BarryBL. When can we expect a hot fix for this? I’ve got away with it in Spa and Monza but will be hitting Singapore soon which we all know we need blue flags there!

Bottas is pretty reliable so far, 3rd season of my team. Hamilton has such terrible results since the first season to the point that Bottas is probably the first driver, hah.Lewis was was mechanical in mine. Although since the updates Lewis has come back stronger it seems.

Auto vs Manual for Overtake & Fuel
in F1 Chat

Well you’d probably have a lap at most on overtake. Also depends on the fuel you have in the car. I only do 100% where strategy is key with overtake and fuel.
