    Microsoft are doing refunds!!

If a ms employee not to buy games from this developer , if I was codies I'd take them to court for slander. You might want to get your law license before spouting legal advice. The Truth is a defense to a slander charge, in the U.S., and I suspect, in Britain. While I would not ever advise my employees to tell consumers not to buy certain games, Microsoft has a vested interest in this game doing well, so advising someone not to buy from a company that cannot (repeatedly) get simple testing right, is not slander. It's protection of your own interests with the truth.

Hummm... Like if all race adicts would all buy a "Space hero big adventure" game ! Yea right ! Lol They should be more concerned by other racing games coming than by destiny. :) Any well done race game that have a descent "Club" system and realistic handling will be a hard opponent. Project Cars is going to eat their lunch if it comes out as promised and CM does not get their act together. When you hear talk about being a "Forza-killer" that's serious stuff. We all like to think F1 and GRID are special, but they are really niche games. As much it pains me to say that, because I hate Forza 4 and love F1 2013, Slightly Mad will be talking in the millions of copes instead of tens of thousands. You can forget about this gen after Christmas, IMO. It's just progress. I'm kind of perplexed as to why there are going to be two F1 2014's. Another bad decision? Does that mean both will be compromised because of the spitting of resources? For starters, project cars is more of  proper simulation/hard core style compared to the more arcade/pick up and play style game that G:AS is. I seriously doubt ProjectCARS will sell in its millions. It certainly won't rival forza or GT for sales numbers.  Also there aren't 2 F1 2014s? What gave you the impression there was 2? Project CARS is aimed squarely at the same crowd Codemasters was trying to placate by revamping GRID. I give CM kudos for going in that direction, and we still have great races in Autosport in our league. But what's so complicated about understanding that both games are gunning for the same market? You just can't pull it off as well with old gen. I'm not trying to compare Autosport to pCARS, because Autosport is water over the dam. I'm more concerned that if CM wants to compete in this SIM arena, as they have said they do, that they fix some serious issues. Also, yes, you are right...technically there are not *two* F1 2014 games. But what would you call two titles, one on next gen and one on old gen, that are released within months of each other and are virtually identical? Since you are a stickler for details, you pick the name...I think people get the bigger picture re: splitting of resources.

    QUALITY CONTROL

It's pretty simple. Some bonehead didn't think to let the community test online before it was released. Would have been "problem solved" at least problem identified and maybe delaying release. Just look at the patch list. About 80% of it relates to online. There is a lesson in this, and I suspect unless CM wants Slightly Mad (who does test with the public in all modes, e.g. pCARS) or some other studio to take their F1 license, they should be very worried about getting the problem nailed down. That said, even with the bug, there are tricks to level up and buy fast. Even if you just want to play successive IDs after corruption hits. Not ideal, and you will probably never get that IndyCar until the patch arrives, but a creative way to "reward" the stilted gamer is to give everyone double cash immediately and combine all of the cash he has collected into one I.D. Don't know if that's possible, but I'm sure something similar could be thought of. A company on its toes would have announced this by now. (hint). So, @Loore if you are not already working on this, I'd get cracking. In the meantime, I'll throw my hat in with the "please stop whining about the corruption issue, expensive cars, or any other bug, since there is nothing we can do at this point and (at least from my view) the game is still very much playable. Those purporting to give legal advice across state lines or national lines...well, that's a crime where I come from. Those posts shoudl be immediately deleted. Just let them try and fix this and leave poor Loore alone. He knows guy. Sheesh.
  6. Come join the largest, most well developed, technically diverse, and GRID Autosport intensive league in the world. From Mods available directly fro our site, to leagues that currently feature Touring Cars across six classes, if you want fun, clean, fair, and organized GRID A/S racing from those who have been with it since announcement, look no further. Go to:  http://www.racedepartment.com/forums/x360-autosport-touring-car-championship.32/ Plenty of room for all skill levels. You can even have a platform to draw racers from over 200,00 members should you want to organize some Club races.

Corrupt Save File / Console Patches

Thanks for the update Loore. I think we all need to realize a couple of things. 1. You have done your best (within the bonds of corporate bureaucracy) to communicate to us directly how things are going and why they failed. If anyone deserves some sympathy it's the guy like you Loore, who takes all the heat but had nothing to do with the failure. 2. Codemasters is flawed, and maybe deeply (except Birmingham), but at least they have tried to communicate with us directly instead of walling us off. Many companies do...in fact the majority do. That does not excuse it, but it should put this is perspective. In the end, we need to communicate our disappointment and frustration in a civil manner and, if necessary, vote with our wallet. That's how commerce works. If a company screws up too much, they go bankrupt. I'm not wishing this on Codemasters at this point, but it's a ying and a yang. Remember, most developers would not have even attempted to "make it right" for GRID2 in the first place. Once the patch is out, hopefully all will be right.

    Patience wearing thin

We have had some bizzare ghosting issues with the A.I. in our league races too. For no reason, the A.I. will ghost or may not ghost...and I know they have not lapped me or I have lapped them (that would be an intelligent feature, which is not the case in on line play).

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

@Loore said we would have some definitive information on the console patch this week. I guess that means today. Unless all those recent edits to his patch posts have deleted any references to "this week" or similar. Or was he just talking about the PC patch and forgot to distinguish again? This is getting old. Seems like some information is not asking too much but apparently it is on the 360, for whatever reason. Appreciate the effort, but back to F1 for now.

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

Wow, this thing is going down in flames it seems. Wonder what really happened? Have to say I'm still able to play, but with no mirrors and no patch on the horizon, I'm not sure how long that will last.

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

Join the club! I propose we start a new Racing Club on Racenet: Corrupted Code-Masters! And instead of patching it for consoles they just announced they will reveal F1 2014 tomorrow. If that isn't laughing at us... F1 is developed in our Birmingham studio, GRID and DiRT in our Southam HQ, two separate teams. Oh but this! This simple quote says so much. Truer words have never been spoken and mean so much more than they state. (You really need to sack Southam and let Birmingham triple in size, with each employee picking two more he wants aboard, and then make real non-F1 racing games)

Corrupt Save Files - Fix Incoming!

@Loore, I'm with the earlier poster in that I specifically remember a post promising virtual mirrors in a console patch. I'll try to dig it up if I can. But, apparently, it was vague enough that you can now claim it was "PC only" with some semblance of evidence or it was an outright lie. Either way, once I find it, I hope it's the former. And if it is, please try and be more specific. Corrupt files aside, I think it's plain to 90% of serious gamers and reviewers that missing mirrors and missing pit stops were a major oversight in GRID Autosport. But oh well. I still appreciate your effort. Didn't quite hit it out of the park, but a solid stand up double. Shame though, since a few patches that are obviously viable (except for maybe pit stops) could make it a solid triple in baseball-speak. Oh. Found it. Here is your post from a July 24th post: We're committed to making Autosport the best game it can be, unfortunately we can't do everything but what we can do, we do. We've already patched the game multiple times on PC (thanks to the easier patching process) and once on Xbox 360, we're also about to add in new features based on Community feedback; things like a rear view mirror and opening up the advanced controller options for all. We're making multiplayer playlist changes based on feedback we've received from the player base, and we're also prototyping new camera views for bumper and chase, again, based on Community feedback. Currently we've got another PC patch getting ready to be deployed and the console patches are starting their submission process, I don't have any exact dates as largely once a patch enters submission it's up to Sony and Microsoft, it could be a few days, it could be a week or so, but as soon as we hear anything we'll let you know. I think any rational reader would and could infer that you were bringing mirrors to consoles, like you should. I understand why companies oversell and over-promise to get consumers to buy, but we also have memories too. You did a good job here and really nail F1, but I'm going to be a little more wary of the promises CM makes from now on.
  13. This is a good idea, this poll. It shows how easy "listening to your fans" can be. And also shows that Codemasters has selective hearing. But at least some hearing is better that none at all, like at T10.
  14. Exactly as Peter said..... You can't even work around the missing elements to "fake it" so to speak in online play because the design is so poorly constructed. If they simply added qualifying and also added the ability to order each race subsequent to race #1 (if you qualify...just like in offline) it would be acceptable. Practice would be gravy at this point, but I still don't see why online wasn't a mirror of offline.
  15. @Loore Do you have any reason or good answers for this? Will it be fixed? I play in a league on a fairly large website that enjoys the F1 games tremendously, so it's frustrating to know that the Codies are capable of doing certain things with online play but don't in GRID Autosport. Codemasters raved about Custom Cup before release, and I think it's fair to say they delivered when in comes to online play...BUT... Then you go to create a game in Custom Cup online and it's very weak in comparison. I mean, the handling and visuals are still there but there are several things missing: 1.) Why did you DELETE the practice and qualifying options from online play? 2.) Why did you DELETE input from your engineer via the D-Pad from online play? 3.) Why can I make a racing "series" by selecting multiple tracks, but when you go to the "Advanced Options" section (as host while creating a game) the online game only allows you to select the starting position for "Race One" and none of the other races (like in offline mode) -- and even that is a GLITCH because one of the "race order" options for race one is is "previous race finish" and "previous race finish reversed" -- when there obviously has been no "previous" race? So now, not only can I not qualify, but I can't even simulate qualifying  by starting a second race (of three) according to lap times, and starting the third race by reverse grid order (you know, like they do in career mode)?!?! Why is the online racing experience so weak and poorly thought out as compared to simgleplayer? Don't you want people to play with others? Don't you want people to form leagues and spread the word to buy your game via word of mouth? Don't you want people to gather around your game instead of being frustrated by it and moving to something else? Why do you work so hard on RaceNet when you have obviously neglected the online play? Very perplexing indeed. And all this doesn't even mention the elephant in the corner named "corrupt". I hope this stuff gets fixed....
