The Polo is like the Audi's. Just the one official livery. The Hyundai has two liveries. The official concept livery and a plain white one.

Well, sh!t. Now you know two poor souls.Glad i did save backup before.... :d  Can you guys shed some light on what was so funky about the pre release sweden? im intrigued... It's nothing like that... well, the AI wasn't really done on Sweden so even I could beat the Master AI by over a minute. How'd you think I got Maximum Attack? :P  Since the community test was < 20 people, it doesn't really make sense to go to the extra effort to make sure a save from that version is compatible with the final version. Just par for the course with testing.

Well now you lot can have a little laugh at some of us testers, 'cause the save games from out test version to the release version aren't compatible. So for any of us that didn't make a backup of our 0.9 saves, and I know of at least one such poor soul, their save is corrupt. And all of us have to buy the Polo and Hyundai again, so no headstart on upgrades, etc.

Well, an unfinished version which became very apparent on internal views in replays. :P

Well that's some bad news. I like the DiRT livery on Escort and 405, a lot better than all the rest IMO. Probably wouldn't hurt to make a backup of them, then you can put them back (in place of another livery) if something like that does happen.

Like the roadbook says, only two new cars. Definitely one to put in the "don't hold your breath" pile now. 'They have, but who has access to them might change with the final version of 1.0 Liveries and control over how they are displayed/accessible in the game is going to need an update to several game files, rather than being handled on the server side.

The VIP status is assigned manually by none other than @Hatward himself as the server and online guru, so it's not some automated process with a set criteria like unlocking an achievement. Poor guy has been sitting there typing names today. No joke, he sent me a message over Steam telling me to reboot the game 'cause he'd just typed my name in. :P It's going to be any number of things that have gotten the attention of the devs throughout Early Access. Vajb, for example, for streaming the game so often, which the team got involved in with competitions and DiRTY prizes. The community testers. People who have consistently been exceptional in the daily events and leaderboards. Maybe even people who have helped @MrJamieLowes source photos of dogs not knowing what they are doing to bombard Hatward with, but that's a long shot.  The highest community reward is a mention in the credits of v1 and upwards, but that's reserved for the people who actually visited Codies to see the game before it was announced and a very select number of gossipers/community testers. I'm not one of 'those, which is a bit of a sad face, but I shall proudly bare my shield as if it was Hylian!. :P

I don't think I'm getting punctures any more or less than I previously did.  But then I've never gotten one for what I felt was no reason either.

Depends. With cars like the Audi's, there was only ever the official skin in one slot, which is a bit of a pain on the skinning side.  Seems like the Zero Cars are now the VIP Cars.

With all that now solidly out in the open, I suppose I can sneak this little clip as a DiRTY Gossip exclusive... from Finland though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqp3e3GnFBg Guess what? No punctures. :D  BTW, I was completely trolling the lot of you earlier. That "NOPE!" pic was a 2001 Focus at Monte Carlo. No unofficial peeks of Sweden yet for you lot! Not giving away any livery info either. The devs give out the info, we might just expand a bit more on it. Not our place to go into any details. :)

I'm pretty sure the trailers for each update didn't release until the update was released.  We might get a screenshot in the road book this week but I doubt any more than that. Correct, launch trailers go up along side the launch of a new update. A screenshot on Friday seems likely, assuming release next week (which is likely since achievements are up and it seemed likely to happen before Paul gets home).

Insults aside... Yeesh In all honesty, I'd hope not, unless it was suitably budgeted from a very experienced porter with a good track record. Outsourced ports have been a recent source of contention in terms of bad console to PC ports (Mortal Kombat X, Batman: Arkham Knight...) and also bad PC to 8th Gen Console Ports (Borderlands: The Handsome Collection). Better to port it themselves and release later than release something sub-par. GTA5 on PC has been an exceptional example that porting properly and releasing later is vastly more successful. The PC version of MGS5 was also handled internally by Kojima Productions. I was supposed to be released after the console versions, but the dev team gave up their holiday for finishing the console version (not re-scheduled, just gave it up) to get the PC version out at the same time. ... ,,,I wonder if the PC port of F1 2015 was outsourced...

Tease what? Steamworks integration for tuning and FFB setups was revealed via Twitter. A car was teased with a really heavily cropped part of a really obscure part, and all but confirmed within a few hours so it didn't even spark a protracted period of discussion. Amazon.de dropped a clanger. Winter Wonderland features Sweden and it's going to be snowy. Ratings boards are starting to suggest that not only could a console version be happening, it might be sooner than we thought. With so much out of the bag (and Paul on holiday with no community manager), it's understandable that if there is much left to tease, they don't want to.

Well, you won't see a rally DS3 in the game. I know some of us might like to, but we can't ignore Rally Cross.  :p

I don't know!?!?! lol It was wheel users (and probably KBM ones) who requested it in the first place. :p In part because the game can only display buttons on a wheel as 1, 2, 3, etc and no one knows which buttons those translate to on their wheel. If the wheel is mounted to the desk or same surface the mouse is on, one can hardly be surprised it gets nudged.

There's nothing to actually fix there 'cause it's not broken. If the mouse is moved, the cursor will re-appear. What you can do in 1.0 (and maybe in 0.9, I don't know), if you so choose, is add a launch option -mouseMode1 Which will disable the mouse. That was mainly offered to help fix the stuttering, but saying as I don't need to use the mouse in-game, I'm using it myself anyway so it can't appear by accident.

There are possibilities. You could use it exclusively to turn off the auto-reset timer and nothing more. Instead of being automatically put back on the track in 15 seconds with a 0 second penalty, you might spend 20 or 25 seconds getting back on the track. That's to your detriment, yet is more realistic. So what's the problem there? If that was available on its own and called a mod rather than a trainer/hack, I bet it would be perceived differently. The original Colin McRae Rally had an actual proper Hover mode built in. Or to drive a block of green jelly. Sometimes it's good to lighten up. For the people making them, the fun is usually in figuring out how to make them work and how the game works, rather than using the tools. Same goes for modders in general. They have their own coding challenge: To stay one step ahead of the anti-cheat measures. Not at all defending their use to cheat online. Just pointing out these are merely tools and not always exclusively about cheating. Like games which give you access to the console. You could use that to cheat in Skyrim or Fallout by giving yourself as much money as you wanted, but you could also use it to freeze the gameplay, change the FOV, enable the free camera and even fix scripting bugs.

If you're going to be editing files or using trainers, convenience is the last thing you should expect in any way. And yet it usually is anyway. :) Allow me to rephrase then. There should always be an option to decide not to participate in online features such as leaderboards in single player modes. I posted details and the announcement video in the SLRE topic.

Block the internet access for drt.exe. Job done, enjoy messing about with files. Very droll.  Could also run Steam in offline mode or pull out the ethernet cable. I'm talking about convenience though. I've always believed online leaderboards are a flawed concept because, as you say, people will cheat. Even more so when there is no way to opt out of them and they ultimately form the core part of the games multiplayer. There will come a time where @Hatward can no longer dedicate so much of his time to policing the leaderboards because it will be uneconomical.  Then it will become a moot point anyway.

Bit of a shame actually. Removing the automatic reset and disqualification timers? Those are pretty neat, and often requested features in the name of realism rather than cheating. After all, what happens if you get reset after the timer runs out? Nothing. Your time penalty is 0 seconds. That actually allows people to get stuck for longer than is normally possible. This is some of the more grey areas where making the distinctions between modding and hacking become dubious. It's one reason I would advocate DiRT Rally having a simple option in-game to disconnect from racenet so you can play and mess about with the game in a safe modding environment that wouldn't compromise leaderboards and wouldn't have to issue out bans unless people actively used them to cheat online. I honestly believe people should be able to do whatever the hell they want in single player. After all, Codemasters is the company that invented the Game Genie for goodness sake, one of the original game hacking tools. Still have my Mega-Drive and SNES ones. My oldest Codemasters products.

Oho boy... this was one of the first topics for the game on the Steam forums, and yes, some people were very upset about it. DiRT Rally isn't the first game to do it. Some games reset achievements after leaving Early Access, but I can't see that happening this time.

Not cold enough, remember. Winter Wonderland and all.            The fact that Amazon leaking that image is openly reported and even repeated in the road book without any denial is public confirmation of it's legitimacy in all but saying "It's legit".
