i have g29 and have  modified the  devicedefines.xml  in the folder INPUT ,have you done that?

I have not, I thought that was only for Thrustmaster wheels.  Could you post what to change and also in-game settings after making the xml adjustments?

  2. Well season 1 is out with no fixes to FFB or career wet/night stages.  I haven't played since a couple days after release because of these issues.  Has anyone found any wheel settings for a G29 that give you some sort of feel with the FFB and doesn't fight you on counter steering?  On PC.

  3. Absolutely loving the game!  Big thanks to the DR 2.0 team.

I am having the same concerns as most others though, mainly very weak weird feeling FFB no matter what settings I use on a G29.  And career being 80% night and wet rallies that seem to have no normal day progression.  Meaning Stage 1 is dry day, then stage 2 is wet night, then stage 3 is wet day etc.

I said a tad disappointed. I’m still excited for new rallies, plus I know we’ve got the benefit of stage degradation and tyre choice

They aren't new rallies.  They are stages anyone that played DR 1 has already driven a million times, and paid for already, with a shiny coat of paint..

I was in that mindset pre launch, however after seeing footage and learning about the game there will be nothing recycled about it. Completely re-done physics when compared to the first game will give the stages an entirely new personality.

The graphical changes will show the locations in a new and vibrant light.

Who doesn't want to drive Wales or Monte with stage deg?

We already have 6 new locations which is a great start, and I certainly hope we get more unseen rallies, but from what I've seen of the handling and stage deg features.....give me the old stages now!

Sorry but no... I have 300 hours in DR and have memorized pretty much every corner of every stage.  While they are great, I'm so burnt out on the stages in DR1 and it's why I stopped playing the game years ago.  Even with new physics and a graphical update, I would MUCH rather the DLC stages be new and not recycled.  I'd love more Wales/Monte/Finland but just not the same stages.

  6. Pretty much yes. Although we guessed this would be the case, it's disappointing to me that they could have confirmed that a long time ago and stopped us wondering
Damn, that is disappointing.  That was really my only gripe with Dirt Rally, in an 6+ stage rally you were driving the same stages over and over and over.  At least we have at least 2 DLC rally locations coming to help bring some more unique KM's to the game.

  7. @tbtstt awesome photo's again mate!

DiRT Rally is still being praised for it's VR implementating (and deservingly so!) I just keep hoping DiRT 4 will receive VR support at some point..
I very drunkenly ordered a Rift w/ Touch a couple weeks ago during the sale, I regretted it till I tried it.  It's pretty incredible.  I've tried it with iRacing, but since I can't play WRC7 due to no wheel support and I've given up on D4 months ago maybe I'll reinstall Rally and try it with the Rift.

Ok so I got the game, trying to use my Clubsport V1 wheel and V2 pedals.  I can't enter the game with any buttons on the wheel, I have the BMW rim.  So I have to hit enter on my keyboard then it defaults to Xbox controller, doesn't pick up the wheel axis and I can't map my throttle and brake.  Any advice how to fix this

I've tried to do the 'change controller' when I get into options but it doesn't pick up any buttons from my wheel or pedals.  HOW can their wheel support still be this bad.  So frustrating.
If anyone has any advice for me on this I'd appreciate it.  I'm going to have to refund the game before I go over 2 hours if I can't get my wheel and pedals working.
@griev0r Have you tried pressing the right hand 4 way switch on the BMW rim to start the game? I have to use that one to log my BMW rim onto the PS4, maybe you have to use the same button?
Tried that, doesn't do a thing.  Going to have to refund at this point.  Maybe down the road I'll give it another shot if there is basic wheel support.

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot I got it from that cdkeys site so no Steam refund.  I'll just chalk this up to a waste of 30$.  God I love modern gaming.

Got the wheel steering even nicer this evening.  It lacks feel & feedback but now reliably accurate and enabling commitment when pushing on the stages.

The epic stages are worthy of the description EPIC!!  Had a go at Monte & the Germany vineyard ones in the trusty '16 Polo.  First class!

Im really getting into this now!
God damn I want to try it so bad, wish I could figure out a way for my wheel to work :(

@Scyy what you are describing is exactly what was mentioned in the video and he got it working. Please see my post above (the one right before yours): http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/comment/302299/#Comment_302299
Thank you @LudwigVonMises I'll try this out once I'm back on my computer. I will say the game seemed like it could be decent but only getting 0% and 100% throttle and brake inputs was really pissing me off when I was trying it.

My excuse for not seeing your post is it was late and i just wanted to post my findings since others were curious about multi inputs. Once I try out what they were saying on isr I'll post back if it all works out.
If you get it working let me know.  I have Clubsport V2 pedals hooked up independently from my Clubsport wheel.

  13. Scyy said:
There are definitely issues with multi input. It lets me map the throttle and brake to my csv3 pedals but only sees them as a button and not an axis. I'm to tired to care or figure it tonight so gonna try again tomorrow.
Fun thing is, Rally Masters from the giddy year of 2000 supports multiple device inputs when setting up controls. Kylotonn literally has zero excuses as to why they haven't implemented such a basic function. They're lazy and care very little about the end product. S'all about money.
Yeah, then it's a no go for me.  I can't believe they still haven't fixed the multiple controller support.  I'll wait to hear if there's a fix for it.

  14. Slowish said:
The lack of multiple controller input support is keeping me from trying WRC7. Unless I can figure out how to use everything with an emulator - it's a no go.  I posted a request in the SLI-max Manager Pro forums to see if it's possible.
Oh god damn, I was just about to buy but that reminded me why I couldn't play earlier titles.  No multiple controllers.  My clubsport pedals go in separately from my wheel and I couldn't map them.  Is that still the case

Ideally tiles would be much shorter. Not a sequence of corners, but a corner. Or part of it. Also landmarks beside a road itself could be randomized. Maybe in the future.
Yeah that would be amazing, but I think that Your Stage is already an incredible piece of technology.  If they build on this it truly is a game changer for rally racing.  It's completely seamless and generates stages in seconds, I can't imagine they wouldn't just build on it from here.  For a V1 of this tech, it really is impressive how well it works.  I just don't think there is enough tiles, or like you said some last too long and become very memorable.

The groundwork is there.  I really think if they fix these odd arcadey rally handling issues and add some tiles to current locations most of us would be very happy.  I know there is a great physics engine as a base after 400 hours of DR, and they have made it better in some ways, worse in others.  And we know they are already looking into the Historics/RWD issue, but it truly does effect AWD cars as well with the point and squirt physics on gravel.

The fact that the Gossip thread is mainly SSD installations & 80's movies a fortnight after the new game dropped, is an unfortunate sign.

Im currently doing Bronfelen in a 2001 Impreza with the wrong sound, & my gaming has me smiling again after 1 stage on good ole Dirt Rally.

Whoever validated the handling in DR, needs brought back, paid the remainder of the D4 marketing budget & told to work his magic.  Each Rally car in DR had the character of their real life version, bang on!
Yeah I hear you man, I feel like I'm forcing myself to play D4 at the moment.  I'm not into Rallycross or Landrush and the rally handling just isn't there.  I can feel the upgrades to the physics engine but the hand of god pointing your car straight anytime you try to initiate a slide with what feels like a lack of power to keep momentum going just doesn't feel right.

I have faith though, Paul and his team were absolutely amazing throughout the Dirt Rally early access development.  They really listened and that's why DR is so loved.  Physics tweaks to the rally side (mainly gravel), and hopefully some new tiles to current locations to add more variety and we're well on our way to the ultimate rally sim!
