We gave feedback, but given how different our build was from final release, i.e. I liked the alpha build and don't particularly like the final build... And it wasn't in-house, we got alpha keys for Steam. But again, thy never claimed it was by the players and it's not the early access deal the original had.

When did DR2 ever make that claim?

Wait... don't you guys have the Micro Machines license? You could literally make a game about racing around the studio.

Why would a subscription service of $10/month give people more money than a single $40-60 purchase? Much less the $400 for a wheel? Sure, but people don't really use the sub forums, so I guess they're trying to promote them. Why they don't do a standard forum layout and have a "home page" with all the subforums listed for general, technical, suggestions, etc. I don't know.

Well I'm sure Pandemic, Visceral and Dreamworks, I mean Danger Close, I mean Dice L.A. are still around at EA too. They just aren't their own studio, I didn't mean the guys were fired. So anything to share? Oh, I forgot to ask yesterday, it's completely unrelated, but what kind of car is this? Also ignore my gigantic windshield crack. It's been like that for like 4 or 5 years. It's not broken. It's different.

Psh, says you. Seemed to be kind of like an EA thing, they tried one game and then they "shuttered" the studio and absorbed it into the main conglomerate. But uh, why were you visiting? Yeah, but if it's part of the Rallycross license you'd think they'd make it work.

Their purchase of the Evo Studio guys was a perfect time to make a new engine, which I think they did, used it for their one rather impressive game, and then shut it all down. Yeah, well after the EA Porsche deal... Outside of Horizon making a major shift into "appealing" to hipster D bags, the driving is pretty fun. I boot up Driver San Francisco and just drive around. That does lead to problem 2 though, the Horizon series has gotten more and more straight roads with very little character to them. I still think the first game is the most fun to drive with tighter winding roads. I'd say it's likely that next is D5. Makes sense to switch it up every release, but given the very lackluster reviews of D4 I also wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

I have very little idea what you just said. Forza 5 scrapped nearly everything from cars to tracks and started over. Anything that was close enough still got manually reworked. For Forza 6 and 7 they added more cars, tracks and features. They may or may not even do something similar with Forza 8 on the new console, after all they're taking a 3 year "break" between releases instead of the standard 2 they've done so far. A new game is much easier to use a new engine with (But I somehow doubt they'll actually do that, even after acquiring both Slightly Mad and Evo Studios, both of which made their own much more impressive game engine. And even though the devs fairly consistently talk about the engine limitations. But I guess keeping a game in 2006 and occasionally tossing some stuff at it is the norm for "sim racing" so it's pointless to try and argue anything different. Why expect a new game to actually fix issues, add new content and features when you could just... not and keep everything really old and outdated?

I don't know about you guys at CM, but I remember seeing some Forza promo where they have a big robot either laser scan or probe all over the surface of the car. They still do opening doors, hoods, trunks, engine bays, some occasional hatches, the entire interior too though, and I'm assuming that's probably done mostly by hand, or maybe with some photogrammetry and retopology tools. I was watching Mighty Car Mods do a video on "Yaris Hilton" and Marty said they should've got a Subaru. Moog just reaches over the roof of the car and slaps him.

Factually false. Turn 10 scrapped everything and made from scratch for Forza 5 to match a new "standard" for the now current gen consoles. They may have kept some of the higher poly count Forza 4 cars, but there's a reason Forza 5 had 200 cars vs. Forza 4's 500, and Forza 7 has something like 700. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-11-06-why-forza-motorsport-5-has-less-cars-and-tracks-than-forza-4

...you were gone? Because they can also just make a new title and potentially theoretically add in new features and engine improvements. It's not like Activision is starving for cash for releasing COD every year.

Does that mean their new game will be like CM titles, but not on horrendously old engine? Very intriguing. Hmm. These kinds of "global organization" game companies never end up well.

Asphalt physics : GRID (2019) vs DR 2.0

Whatever. That really only affects Dgeesio and esports. and no one likes them anyways.

Asphalt physics : GRID (2019) vs DR 2.0

What a poor understanding of the discussion. First off, you can have access to the textures without having access to the car model. DR1 did this, and it was fine. Secondly, nowhere did he mention adding in cars or changing car-track combos, which still wouldn't be an issue. Thirdly, adding in modded physics doesn't break the integrity of the game. I'd like to see you apply that argument to everyone's favorite, Richard Burns Rally. What exactly kind of mods do you "respectful" modders plan to add in? Liveries? Ooh, exciting! TOS doesn't mean anything. I didn't pay (Well actually I got this one for free) for a product so that I can strictly only use it how someone else dictates I do. Especially in a game that I play solo. There's more than likely already systems in place to check for physics changes online. If I want to take a WRX car up Pikes Peak, what exactly is the harm in that? DLC being locked is not about modders, it's about pirates. Modders change values or add things, pirates steal stuff. And no, the tarmac physics are in fact ****. Every one of us Beta testers (and the community as a whole) agrees with that. ACAT doesn't give anyone advantages. You're not doing it online and it's a car and track combo that's not available, so where exactly is the advantage there? And once again, they can give access to the texture files without giving access to the car files, a la War Thunder with plane skins for example, which is solely online. That issue is straight from someone at CM. Sometimes I'm baffled by the things I see other people saying. Like, Oh no, there's some mods for GTAV car physics, Rockstar loses $1 billion dollars. Uh oh, someone made me be able to play The Witcher 3 like Deadpool, Link, or Big Boss. I should get a refund. Except, oh yeah, mods actually make games far more successful and seriously prolong the life of the product. Factually false, and any location that's heavily anti-gun like Chicago, L.A., New York, London, etc. all have significantly higher crime statistics than places literally flooded with them. Those numbers are also often cherry picked or are based on total population, which to make that fair would be more like comparing the US to the entirety of Europe. Alternatively those figures are looking solely at gun related crimes, and once again, remove the gun free zones I mentioned earlier and the US is statistically actually far safer than a lot of other "rich" countries. Not to mention the fact that the FBI accurately reports all crime data while England actually expressly states that it very often reduces the severity of crimes (Like turning armed robbery into just petty theft) to make it seem safer than it is. But this is not the place for politics, though I agree it was a terrible analogy. Your source is Wikipedia? Wow. Also in that source; "Research suggests that intentional homicide demographics are affected by changes in trauma care, leading to changed lethality of violent assaults, so the intentional homicide rate may not necessarily indicate the overall level of societal violence.[3] They may also be under-reported for political reasons." But again, let's stop this pointless debate of defenseless European against Freedom Loving Americans. Well then by definition your conclusion is flawed.

*cough* maybe better than normal stability levels should be the goal here. They seem less stable than power supply in the Soviet block. What testers? You mean us? We're always smug though. Literally no idea. Other than a few sneak previews real early on, and I mean just pictures or words, we haven't gotten anything in terms of news for months. I can check the secret place, but typically we would all get tagged since we don't have any reason to visit it anymore. *Edit, I'd say at best the last time we actually got anything somewhat gossipy was in June of last year in which PJ just said that basically tarmac physics are unlikely to change, due to the reworking of a bunch of other systems and them being busy with the GRID reboot. Like, big surprise there. May 16th CMMcBabe asked for our opinions on the FFB changes. That's all. I don't believe that was an early release for us either, that's just when the FFB update happened. April 16th I got in an argument with @dgeesi0 about his... umm... "unique" writing style I can't decipher, despite him being English. And after looking through like 20 pages it's mainly been us quibbling about random things or bug reports. I'm thinking it's more like a year or more since we've actually been let in on something.

Honestly with how poorly I've been sleeping that could be great. Although my sister and her kids waking me up with dogs barking and the bird screaming doesn't help. Look at Japan. A lot of offices have bunk beds. Side note, Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world. Don't know why.
