What we like in the next GRID game

Livery creator would require people to police it. Forza has always had a problem with people making liveries that reference drugs, sex and nazis and they get banned for running them. Codemasters can barely get a finished game out. Zero chance of them policing anything.

    The future of Grid

Bathurst isn't an F1 track though. Silverstone is an F1 track and is in the game. So why no Spa or Bathurst? Like you say, I can only think they were trying to destroy their own game.

    The future of Grid

Codemasters are good at doing racing, just not so good at the game part. Just look how many times they've had to be told to put really obvious things in. Like rear view mirror in GAS and lobbies with AI players in the latest game. I also wonder why Spa and Bathurst don't feature in GRID 2019. Did they think 'hey, what were the best tracks from our previous games? How about we just don't put them into the new game for no reason?'

    The future of Grid

I remember it being OK. Most people didn't bother trying to manipulate their rating. People with bad ratings were dirty drivers and vice versa. An undeserved bad rating was soon lost. All racing games should have some sort of system for dealing with rammers though. Whether it be ratings or time penalties. It's not hard to do.

    The future of Grid

I don't understand why GRID 2019 didn't have the driver rating system from Autosport to pick out rammers, crashers and bad drivers. Actually I do understand it. It's because obviously none of the development team had ever played or even seen any of the previous GRID games.

    The future of Grid

I'd rather have freedom to choose cars and tracks than be stuck with fixed events. With Autosport especially, people stopped playing because CM stopped updating the car/track rotations and it got really boring. Hopefully GRID 2019 will have a better lifespan.

    The future of Grid

I doubt it. What's wrong with multiplayer? I think it's better than previous versions as hosts can choose to use any car on any track. As a result we don't have a lot of races on reverse tracks. Real life tracks just don't work in reverse. We could do with some sort of system for dealing with bad drivers who hit others. Like in Autosport for example! Why has that not been included?

    GRID Season 3 - Arriving April 15th

Yes. I'll actually be able to buy some cars now!

    missing Chicago track

There are many tracks from previous games they could have put in. Spa and Le Mans would be good.
  10. That would be a great idea. I wonder why they didn't play any of the previous GRID games before working on this one. Hmmmmm.
  11. Agreed. We need to be able to tune cars between each race. Different tracks definitely need different gear ratios at least. We had that in GAS. Anyone on the dev team actually play that game? Either that or reset each car to default tuning for multiplayer.

    Quick Update - 15/10/2019

I'm not playing it until they get rid of AI in MP. If they don't do this, I want my money back.

    Dirty Cars

One of the little known features of GRID was that if you didn't wash your car, it became more resistant to damage at the expense of being a bit slower. Especially useful for DD cars. Will GRID Autosport have this too?

    Autosport Corner Cutting

I saw on one of the GRID Autosport videos that corner cutting is punished by the car slowing down for a few seconds. I assume that this will be online too. I think it would be good if the online lobby host had control over the corner cutting penalty. IE could set how long the car is powered down for after a corner cut or even switch it off altogether. If you find the lobby is full of cutters, then the time could be made longer, if you are in a lobby with clean racers, then it could be switched off as even the best drivers go off track occasionally.

    GRID Autosport Feedback

Played the 360 version for a few hours. Getting some time in on career before hitting online. Playing on hard difficulty with no assists. All good so far. AI aggression is nicely balanced I think. Having trouble with the street race on Dubai. Is it just me or is that track really slippery? All good so far. Thanks Codemasters for bringing GRID back to me!

    The 'I purchased Autosport' Thread

Just pre ordered for 360. Loved GRID, but I never even played GRID2 as it looked like an awful game. Hope my faith in you isn't misplaced CM. Autosport is looking good though!

    Dirty Cars

It was definitely the case in GRID.

    Liveries

If people were allowed to design fully custom liveries (like Forza) then this would have to be policed (like Forza). As there are always some idiots who think it's funny to put stuff on their cars that breaks XBox Live rules. IE nudity, bad language, sexual and drug references etc etc. There are similar rules for PS too. People get banned almost daily from Forza for stuff like this. I can't imagine Codies having the time or inclination to deal with that really.

    Alternate Assists OFF online lobby

You should be faster without assists than with them in Autosport. Double cool.

    Alternate Assists OFF online lobby

In GRID assists made you faster, so most people used them. In Forza they make you slower so you are rewarded for racing with assists off.

    Grid Autosport

I was hugely disappointed by and very critical of many things about GRID 2 and never bought or played the game as a result as it was obvious I would detest it. It's great that Codemasters have listened and produced what's looking like a true sequel to GRID. I'm still slightly skeptical, but am cautiously looking forward to it and will almost certainly buy it based on what I've heard so far.
