The real drivers don't get to hear Martin Brundle or David Croft during a race, so I'm not sure how this would make it more "authentic".
-
On the other hand, there's no reason to suspect F1 2020 will have any fewer bugs, but it will cost a lot more.

Who Are The Best Formula 1 Drivers That Never Won A World Championship?
scottishwildcat replied to ObiWanMaHomie's topic in World of Motorsport
Loads of them. Gilles Villeneuve, Didier Peroni, Gerhard Berger, Ronnie Petersen, Jacky Ickx, to name but a few. (Much as I love DC, he never really struck me as world champion material...) -
Additional users have been added at least once before, so you might be lucky. (However, I'm not in this year's beta so I have no idea what they're doing this time.)
-
They'd really need to implement the much-requested "save race replay" feature to do this properly, so I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like all the most tedious bits of Sochi and Azerbaijan rolled into one.

Revealing DiRT Rollers: The Official Marble Racing Video Game!
scottishwildcat replied to CodiesBlogBot's topic in News & Announcements
First rule of April Fool's jokes: post them on April 1st. -
I think most companies have come to realise that a pre-release demo can only really harm potential sales. People only tend to play demos of games they're interested in buying anyway, so if the demo is good the net effect on sales is negligible, while if it's bad, they lose a bunch of customers. (Plus, of course, producing the demo version takes development time away from finishing the game properly.)

USA - Circuit Of The Americas
scottishwildcat replied to Sir_Overtakesalot's topic in General Discussion
Yep. Don't like watching it, don't like driving it. -
Ok, maybe people just have more of a sense of entitlement these days, I guess. (I hope you never order anything from AliExpress, that usually takes about 6 weeks...)

I haven't bought much from them, but haven't had any major issues... they even shipped me a new set of pedals for free that developed a fault after I'd used them for years, even though they were well out of warranty. They're a small company who are doing their best during lockdown, and probably facing supply chain and other logistics issues like the rest of us. It's always frustrating when delays aren't communicated, but it's hard to be too critical of any companies trying to keep their businesses afloat at the moment. (And is waiting "up to a month" for anything really "shocking"? 28 days is pretty much the standard "please contact us if it hasn't arrived by then" period for almost anything.)

In your opinion, what is the worst problem in the F1 game series?
scottishwildcat replied to Nick.Rufino's topic in General Discussion
Great, except there are no leagues that run at the times I am free to play, and even if there were, I don't particularly want to make that sort of commitment for what's just supposed to be a bit of casual fun. -
I very much doubt that. The target market for the game is not professional F1 drivers, and it sells bucketloads every year regardless of what they think about it.

Kinect is the voice recognition system that Microsoft provides gaming APIs for. Until that changes, there's not a lot CM can do. (Other than write their own, which they're not going to do for one platform.)
-
Yes, it will have split screen for PC. What happened with the latest GRID release, they never announced split screen as a feature for that afaik?

Historically, CM have preferred to have feature parity across all platforms, with some minor exceptions, so I'd be surprised if we ever get this tbh. Also, as a developer myself, being told something "can't be very hard" to implement is pretty much the best way to ensure it never gets done 😉 Anything that involves sending stuff over a network, even some simple text messages, and ensuring everyone can see them at roughly the same time and in the right order, is probably already an order of magnitude more difficult than you might imagine.

They say it's been improved every year, so I wouldn't hold my breath. (Then again, when I first started playing AC with my Fanatic CSR, I expected the FFB to feel like a whole new world compared to the F1 games because everybody kept saying how amazing it was. But to this day I still can't really feel much difference, and neither of them feel anything like driving a real car to me. So what do I know.)
-
I'd guess they've had to optimise some assets to get split screen running at an acceptable speed.

Have no interested in driving around after a race is finished, so it's a no from me.

The return of the scenario mode - Request
scottishwildcat replied to Marco_Centorrino's topic in General Discussion
I used to play the scenarios more than pretty much any mode other than grand prix. Not sure having real life scenarios would be any more interesting to me, as they'd be "real" in name only... it's not like any of the AI drivers could re-enact what their real life counterparts did. -
DAMAGE MODEL, RED FLAGS & MORE FOR F1'S NEW GAME?
scottishwildcat replied to SamReaN's topic in General Discussion
Some of us are also asking why you start every word with a capital letter... it really makes your posts a lot harder to read. -
I've been watching F1 on the telly since the 1970's, and I've never heard of him 🤷♂️
-
(Should be in the World of Motorsport forum, not the Game forum.)
-
Or more likely, SMS could be the ones making the new Dirt game, and not touching the F1 games at all.
-
To be honest, none of those features particularly interest me. I just want racing against AI to be as much fun as possible, and that is pretty much all.
