For whatever reason (probably $$$), Google Stadia seems to be their streaming platform of choice for now. So I'm guessing they won't be back on GeForce Now anytime soon.
-
Only if they also mandate a triple screen setup, of course, because the FOV in cockpit view is nothing like real life.

In case Codemasters missed this, on accident or intentionally...

If you were a dev working for a publicly-traded company, you'd code what your managers told you to code, just like the rest of us have to. -
When will the betha to f1 2020 program start?

There's a link at the top of every forum page. -

F1 2020 interview with Lee Mather
scottishwildcat replied to Worntoathread's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like management game 101 stuff, so far... I know some people love this sort of thing, but it doesn't sound like it will exactly be groundbreaking. -
Realistically, the only chance of people getting banned is if you report them every time they do it, using your platform's standard player reporting options. Codemasters will never be able to automatically detect bad behaviour and hand out bans accordingly - if they had the technology to do that, the race penalty system would be way better than it is today.

Microsoft would not be interested in another first party racing title, especially one with limited appeal in the US.
-
Yes, in previous years you've had to start from scratch. They could always change that this year, of course, but it seems unlikely.
-
Not for me. They've had them in other games and I didn't like any of them... they're often just horrible to drive because all the intended flow is gone.

Multiplayer Cutscene and commentary
scottishwildcat replied to DonBlanko's topic in General Discussion
But terrible for QA, who have to (theoretically) do up to twice as much testing for each new option 🙂 -
I haven't played the game in a couple of years, but I think time trial mode has this feature? (Or it did in 2017!) Not the same as having it available in a race, certainly, but still useful when you're learning a circuit.

Mods: This should really be in the World of Motorsport forum.

FF and grip differences Grand Prix mode vs. lobby
scottishwildcat replied to LILLHELM's topic in General Discussion
My guess would be it's differences in the sampling rate of the physics model... when everything's running locally, the required calculations probably get more processing time. And the more of those calculations they can do per second, the more realistically the tyres and suspension work, and the better the force feedback feels. (iRacing apparently recalculates the forces on each tyre 720 times per second... no idea what F1's sampling rate is, though.) -
Why not a F1 racing school mode in the game?
scottishwildcat replied to jamesjuve86's topic in General Discussion
There used to be one... like many old F1 game features, maybe it'll come back one day as a new feature. -
When did you *ever* see a promo for any game that said "we fixed most of the bugs" or "we did a bunch more testing this time"? That's the sort of thing they *might* say in interviews or web forums -- but even then, most companies will never admit to having made poor quality products, as it leaves them open to shareholder backlash, loss of revenue, and potentially even lawsuits. (See also: Gerald Ratner).
-
Yes, you probably would. At a very conservative guess, at least 50% of the people who currently buy and like the game probably wouldn't. So what do you think they're going to do?

F1 2020 Voice commands on Xbox One
scottishwildcat replied to Scott1904's topic in General Discussion
It’s missing because there are no Xbox APIs that allow them to implement it. No great mystery. -
How to find unranked or ranked servers with no aids?
scottishwildcat replied to codexas's topic in General Discussion
Codemasters need to sell as many games as they can, to stay in business and to keep their shareholders happy. They don't care whether Max Verstappen wants to play. -
What if the game didn't completely change every year?
scottishwildcat replied to DrDraken's topic in General Discussion
Certainly in the past, their licence has obligated them to produce a new game every year. Whether that's still the case (or if it is, whether the coronavirus situation will give them any leeway this year), who knows. -
Codemasters, enough is enough...
scottishwildcat replied to AoiAsahina's topic in General Discussion
And Codemasters have always told us that's not the sort of F1 game they want to make, so you might as well stop asking. -
Your road car also has a tiny fraction of the torque. You only need to watch last season's Hockenheim race to see how easily cars aquaplane in corners, and once they start aquaplaning they generally just keep going until they hit something.
-
If you're bored with them, just imagine how the real drivers feel.

Codemasters Confirmed- ALL 22 tracks
scottishwildcat replied to FOneFanatic's topic in General Discussion
Did anybody really expect them not to include all 22? Even if the whole season is cancelled, I'd expect the usual game. -

Well, they just bought SMS. It remains to be seen what good or ill will come from that.
