I'm going to miss the fact I'll not be missing the bouncing issues that the S1 has in DR xD (yep, still not touching the rally part, only rallycross, and I agree, I'm a retard and an idiot :D )

I feel like the general discussion is the Omaha beach on how it was in 6th of June 1944 xD

I'm practising a magic trick on the spam threads currently xD

Ahh, the NFS livery editor. I was more into livery creation in NFSWorld, although I didn't really make any rally liveries (I was bad at them xD ). I did mainly replicas and some custom simple designs. The most "Codemaster" thing I did was the Ravenwest livery :D

Apparently the spam disagrees with that statement xD

Locking anything in game by hardware that isn't a graphical option is a stupid move (graphical stuff usually requires the specific hardware to even work). You're literally paying for the game and are denied the access to gameplay features because you don't have some piece of hardware that in many cases is more expensive than the consoles that can run the game... Even Pay2Win ain't as stupid of an idea as that is.

Skoda is generally rarely seen in games at all. I mean for crying out loud, they aren't even in Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo of all things. If it ain't there, you know you ain't getting it xD As to why the manufacturers are hesitant... if you don't know what it is about, it's about money. On top of that, even though some people here don't care about cars in it, a lot of people do. Massive amount in fact. Some may buy a game because there is a specific car in it. It's similar as with movies, you're more likely to watch a movie if there's an actor in it you like. Manufacturers are aware of that and raise the price more and more. The situation with Toyota and Codemasters is probably one where Codies can't spend much and Toyota asking for a sum that is way too high for them. The damage in the game is also a factor most likely. Gran Turismo doesn't have a (proper) damage model and in result they get more licenses than anyone else (and they know how to name the cars for once) even though everyone joke about their crappy damage model. Codemasters do have rather extensive damage model, and probably along with low balling the manufacturers for the deals results in them not being very happy and the relationships being not best, which would explain why they always have issues with licenses. Again, if you don't know what it is about, it's about money. Doubly true when licenses are involved. I personally... will be more interested in a game if it has a car I like but if it doesn't, that won't make me stop considering it. Gameplay is most important, cars are a nice visual addition. Also, the very fact that we are here mad there aren't more cars in the game due to the licensing only proves that the cars in the game matter. The more you complain about it, the more the prices will go up. Once you get this ball running, there's no stopping it I'm afraid.

"Bit of a missed opportunity not calling it 'DiRTy Casual Mode'". Couldn't agree with that more :D

Which is exactly why calling physics mode "Gamer" is not the smartest thing to do... to say the least. Call it what it is, not who you think is going to use it. I mean depending on who'll be reading it, they can interpret it as "easier", "harder", "exactly the same", "wtf does it even mean?" and so on and so forth. As many interpretations of that as there are actual gamers out there.
-
I'll be honest, after a night with those names in head, I find the term "Gamer" being used as a description of the simcade physics rather... dangerous. It can be easily seen as quite elitistic, aka it implies that just because someone is not a hardcore simulation enthusiast and "only" a gamer they should use simplified physics. Maybe instead of "Gamer" something like "Simplified" would work better?
-
Ahh, shame. Still won't be able to see what's behind the corner when entering a slide xD Fair enough. Although no idea why you would hate that term. It describes the physics perfectly aka combination of arcade and sim or sim and arcade, however one may like it.
-
Well, few would disagree on that note (ok, just me...) On that note @KickUp I have a question or two: - Will we be able to adjust the chase camera to our liking, just like in CMR2.0 or Rocket League? By that I mean angle, height, how much it follows the car, how quickly it comes back etc. - Is the arcade mode actually arcade or is it simcade (aka can the car spin while going through a corner without the use of handbrake or collisions, if yes then simcade, if not then arcade)? If second, please name it simcade rather than arcade. I hate it when developers/journalists say "arcade" while they are providing/talking about "simcade". Small thing, makes a world of difference to those with peculiar OCDs :D

I just checked mine as well and I happen to have... even more than you o.O I assume someone's hobby is to click on my profile few times a day xD

Indeed, especially when I myself will be getting it only for the RX side. Focus RX will be great, but having that Audi as well would be that cherry on the top.
-
Yeah, I have similar feelings here as well. I'll be definitely willing to try the RX side with the official tracks and hopefully the Audi S1 RX and I believe it will be great in that department. Just a shame that the rally side for me is dead, even though naturally for many it's actually becoming more like the real actual experience.

I was under the impression that a certain amount of stages created by CM themselves of varying difficulty and length followed with those five locations. So, there are no ''set stages'' at all, created by CM themselves but rather everything is generated by 'Your Stage'? Yes you are correct with your first sentence, but they are only playable (as far as I know) in the career mode. Phew, I thought everything was randomly generated. Thanks for clearing that up! Wait... so are there actual rally stages based on real life ones or not? Regardless of where you can play them. You guys made it so confusing right now it's just impossible to understand... Because currently it seems to me like all the stages are generated, just that the career ones have been generated with fixed values, so they are always generated in the same way. I'd kill for some normal simple answer...
-
Yeah, well, you're not me. And my brain unfortunately apart from being retarded, has a very specific way of working. And the moment I know those are not real stages, it just sits at the back of the head and itches all the time, never really allowing you to fully get into things. So while for most this isn't an issue, it is a killer for me. It's a real shame though, because apart from the lack of Monte Carlo, those real life stages, lack of graphical improvement (still 2D grass -_-) and the general missing of a lot of DR content, everything else seems to be spot on.
-
If that is indeed the case, this kills the game for me. Well, I may be buying it purely for the RX side then, that is if the WRX Supercars will be included in, and specifically the Audi S1 WRX.
-
I'm mainly gutted that the content that was in DR didn't went into DiRT 4, while the game shows little if any improvements in the graphical department. I always say quality over quantity, but so far it seems it's... neither. I hope to be proven wrong though. PS. I don't count the generator into track amounts since... I won't be ever using it. So for me it's only the 5 RX tracks and stages from those 5 locations.
-
I'll most likely buy it as well here. But I can't say I'm excited for the game at this point. It's going to be more of the "oh, so it's released now, might as well play it after all" kind of thing. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a good game but... that's it. I'm almost certain we'll remember DR much better than we'll ever remember DiRT 4. The content itself is really weird. From the screenshots and the small gameplay snippets, the stages don't seem to have changed dramatically graphics wise at least. So I'm really wondering, why in the seven hells they didn't put at least Monte Carlo in? I get the Finland with it's over the top jumps would require a tremendous amount of layout change, but what was wrong with Monte Carlo? And if we won't be having 12+ minutes long stages now... I'm really going to put a "jump on a hype" sticker in my mind on this title. And I'm still butthurt about Monte Carlo, and I'll most likely be even if it's released in a DLC form. In my case it's more of a "Y U NO PUT MONTE CARLO IN?!" mode xD
-
I'm personally kind of... disappointed I believe is the word? I expected a bigger and better DR in every aspect, not a DiRT3 with DR physics and graphics. In other words I expected the content of DR to be expanded, improved, updated etc. along with the engine being upgraded. It's nice to see rally school, ladders, new game modes, Nicky Grist and the iconic cars but... it just seems like a rushed project to get the money flowing in while the hype for the rally sim is still high. I highly expected this game to be released in 2018, especially that development times increase due to the complexity of graphics and what not. Also... I'm completely not hyped about the "track creator" tool. Part of the appeal to rally for me is being able to drive on the stages that reflect those that exist in real life, even if in a small extent. It adds to the immersion for me. Driving on a stage that has been generated by some algorithm will never provide the same level of immersion. I realise it's very healthy for game longevity and competitive side and all that stuff but... I'd prefer more locations and stages over this thing. And yes, I'm butthurt about the lack of Monte Carlo :D

Sane Gossip: This friday Road Book is confirmed and it will finally be the one where they can say something, although still expecting "NDA" on some of the details, or rather a vast majority xD Insane Gossip: Naturally this means @KickUp will be going to Sweden and has made a deal with one of the crews to be a co-pilot. This is all for the purpose of making the pace notes that we will have in the game even more realistic. They secured that deal by bribing the team with kebab pizza obviously (which is why the privileged guys didn't see any while they were at Codies).
-
Not pizza. We didn't see a single slice of it at Codemasters. You expect a kebab pizza to stay there? They obviously eat it before you even had a chance to see it xD

Polish got a trick for that one. We call it "Hujara", which is pronounced "Whoyara". The reason why it's been named like that, is that "huj" or orthographically correct "chuj" is a term used to describe the gentleman sausage... in the unfriendly manner. English equivalent would be the "d" word. And yes, we do similar name tricks often xD Why did I even bother... This is literally like talking to a wall. Ok, last time, maybe there's a crack in it. The word "Tortilla" doesn't exist in Polish vocabulary. It's a foreign word which is why it's pronounced in the language of its origin, as every word that doesn't exist in the vocabulary. Last time I checked that's true for every single language out there. Jaguar on the other hand is a name of an animal that existed in the Polish vocabulary (and most other languages as well) for a very long time now, unlike some food that spread worldwide only few years ago. If the word "Tortilla" would be put into Polish vocabulary at some point, it would most likely be adjusted to match the orthography rules of the Polish language, at which point the pronunciation of it would change. But at that point that word would become a Polish word that was derived from the word "Tortilla". Too many words in a single sentence xD
-
Because Tortilla doesn't exist in the vocabulary of any other language other than its country of origin. Just kurwa saying xD Kurwa. PS. This page starts to resemble a typical Polish conversation more and more xD
