DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

DLC is the thing I desire most from DR now. This is an incredible game with a fantastic chance of being relevant for years to come.  It's very rare these days that a game has such good potential in that regard.

the only problem is the word you mentioned " Longevity " . thats a game companies nightmare. they want you to play and buy the game but not have enough depth to keep you going long after the new release comes out. if it is that good and still fun to play many might pass up the new offering. for us gamers we want it all in one package. the thing is games with all content in one pack can work and can sell aswell as three or four games if done well. cod 4 aka modern warfare for eg. i would love for content keep being added to this game. really is the best rally game i played. Yep. That's why I said it would depend on the plans and ambitions of the dev team, but if they did decide to take the EA DICE approach and have the same main title for at least 2 years with a bunch of generous DLC I would absolutely adore them for it, even more than I do now.  That would be the sort of middle-ground plan between longevity and progression.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

It's been said loads, but it's worth repeating a lot of peoples' wishes for 'entry level' rally cars in the game; it would be amazing to rag them round the stages.  I think it would be a massive, massive shame for the guys and girls not to build on the game we have already been given with the implementation of significant DLC packs. The foundation is set to have even more of an incredible game with incredible longevity. It's ultimately down to their own ambitions, and what they have planned for their own careers post console release, but this game could be untouchable for x amount of years to come.

Lucky to escape without damage there, especially since he's smashing the field in WRC2 right now by over a minute.

The grounds of your praise is exactly why those minor issues exist; limited time as well as unfortunate and untimely events. Just be happy they're not game-breaking issues like what has been seen on the other side of Codemasters with F1 2015, as well as too many other games from other developers.  The quality control comment was a tad rude, considering the size of the project and the fact that the majority of the game throughout early access was pristine for a product taking that path of development.   Why should I be happy they're not game breaking issues? I wasn't complaining about codrivers in other languages. I am happy with Paul's voice and his route notes :) Funny that you mentioned EA. Once the game was out of it there seems to be more bugs than before. League bug is a game breaking one for many players and the devs weren't even aware of it. Priorities, I guess (and there is nothing wrong with that). Fortunately DR community is very strong and helpful ;). And don't get me wrong, I absolutely love what they've done with DR and how they used EA. I was playing it as ifvit was a full game! I guess with more content being added around a hectic time, as it was for them, would inevitably bring bugs with it. I have full confidence in the crew to fix the niggling issues when the console version is released, because I'm assuming we'll get a mega patch on PC to coincide with the console release.

Tyre pressure amendments and tyre choice would be awesome to have, especially on a full rally when you may have to run a mixture of compounds out of want or need.

It would mean that we'd have to read the road, like so many drivers comment on having to do when the stage conditions change so much either due to road order or weather

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

To be fair, how much do we know about the tech that was in SEGA Rally at that time? How does it affect the physics of the car? Is the car just driving "on top" of everything and the groves are just visual flair?  We know a lot. Like I said, there were technical videos discussing the technology and showing how it worked. They completely affected the physics of the car, you can see that in the videos yourself. It was the games major selling point. It might not have been entirely realistic with how it did it, still a very much arcade style game after all, but if you played it, the affect they had was pretty striking. Staying precisely in the grooves would generally lead to faster and faster times each lap, but skipping out of them could be dramatic. Watch this from 4:10  I think it'll help everyone get a better understanding of what it involves. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdqeu-2bTT8 This would be incredible to have in DiRT Rally, because depending on where you finish on the day depends on which order the cars run in on the next; this could mean being 6th on the stage would cause some corners to be more tricky and "hooky" than if you were the road sweeper, which on the other end of the scale would make the stage more slippy.  Essentially, this tech could be used to simulate a running order, and I'd also like to see some hanging dust on some of the Greek stages, again as if a car has just gone through before you.  This would add a significant chunk of authenticity, however I'm not sure how much work would have to be done to implement this into the game in it's current state.

My guess on Twitter was "Hookers", but I doubt that's it...  Replay editor?  A damage model that isn't restricted by car licensing?  Mechanic Simulator?  Cottage cheese?  Tyre deformation?  eSports?  A proper driver/team creator?  MOAR ROCKS?!111 MOAR ANIMALZZ!??/// The guy dressed as Santa Claus during Rally Sweden?  The ability to withdraw cash without it being taken out of my bank account?  Tell meh!!!

It would be crazy considering that the WRC media company won't give the game to anybody who won't make a babygame to suit all audiences. Because it's a sports brand, it has to be able to be accessible for kids, which is shite. If Codemasters never has it, then I'll personally force-feed it back to Evo Studios.  WRC MEGA PATCH SUPER SECRET RELEASE! Just like DiRT Rally was sprung upon us out of nowhere :D

I think its a problem with how they do liveries because the cars that do have name and flag have those as a part of the same pssg file. So I'm not sure if they have found a way to fix it. But on the other hand it's relativly easy to mod in you name and flag I'll have to get learning, then! I've never amended or created a livery in my life.

I'd also like to know what was needed for VIP :]  I would also, also like to know whether or not we'll see the ability for us to put our names on the cars, considering we already have in-game driver profiles with our full names and country in it.

Yeah, I really like Meeke, but I'm unsure on how good he is. He can either be challenging for the lead or well off. But I would like to see him at Toyota. 2017 will definitely be an interesting year, I wonder if Volkswagen well remain as they are? VW will be remaining as they are, running 3 cars with the same 3 drivers, despite what has happened to VW this year.

Some people forget that he was most competitive when in a Fiesta, when he was a privateer. He's always said it's been his most comfortable car, and I'm hoping he finds the form he once had during his privateer days.

I love that Ostberg is going back to MSport; I think he's great, and he'll definitely do better back in a Fiesta.  Camilli on the other hand... 10 WRC starts, and 10th or whatever it was in WRC2... I don't get it.

Frightening noise when you're not expecting it.  My girlfriend's parents live out in the sticks outside Peterborough, and a Lancaster bomber sometimes flies over head, really low, due to there being several RAF bases nearby. Now that is a frightening noise, but wow, so immense.
