From the original grid (2008) I like the fact I could go straight online, click euro championships for example and then you would play three tracks randomly picked from five I think.

I use to play for ages with people constantly coming and going, be able to click on people's profile to see how many race wins they had was pretty neat also when waiting at the start.

I also liked it when the first person to press start in the lobbies would start on pole for the first race and then after the 1st race it would be reverse grid. (seemed to even things up) the better players would still win overall but not every race.

Every game that has followed has been different. Why would you not just add more to a game that was so popular. Even the demo in 2008 had had more people playing online than the new grid 2019!

Half the original grid team joining playground games didn't help. (Alan Roberts)

🤞 They will add to grid 2019, because i think it's a good game just find it frustrating that I'm not able to set up a public lobby!

unless they add public lobbies this game will be forgotten about fairly quickly which would be a real shame because the driving mechanics are great for online fun

  2. what was the thinking behind the multiplayer part of this game and arguably the most important feature..surely the requested features will be added,i find it hard to believe you neglected the online community,im assuming custom lobbies will be added ,making the experience 100x more  enjoyable than it is in its current none  existent state,i like the physics of the cars ,quite comparable to grid1 so yes we have a sequel when u decide to address the issue..thank you for reading

One of my favourite things at the moment is that when I do a multiple event race weekend I never have to go back to the main menu. It's just non stop racing, I like that, less moving between loading screens and more time spent doing what we all want to do...race cars.

Is it how do the online custom lobbies work? Or its a single player description?

    Both.

For multiplayer, If you set up a multi-event cup it'll stay in and moves from event to event without ever going back to the lobby. Worth noting that it does support late-joining, so if you join a lobby that's currently on event 3 out of 5 you'd load in and join the action at the start of event 4.
with a car of your choice?

Yes, that's how it goes. We record all the stats for every car you own so even for those you sell, there'll still be a record of them.
just a thought .will upgrades n tuning not make online racing an unbalanced line up of cars on the grid due to novices v experienced players for example..i know there will be custom lobbys set to all cars at stock ..not to worry im sure it will suit most racers with all the options

In GRID assists made you faster, so most people used them. In Forza they make you slower so you are rewarded for racing with assists off.
You should be faster without assists than with them in Autosport.
i very much doubt it loore,in grid without assists was alot slowe lap times, not that i took part in those races because for me the fun of grid was tearing round the track as fast as possible...assists off just dumbed it down ..it never ever felt like a sim

can someone explain about car repairs ...for instance i have a car i race all the time in autosport ,will that car have to be disgarded at some point because of degredation..i prefered it in grid1 where u just gave it a car wash from time to time
After a while you'd still be able to race with the car but its performance won't be the same as new.

We've got a feature going live on the blog in May where we go into detail of repairs. We will touch upon it briefly in two weeks time as we detail the mechanical damage system in the game.
does that mean if you want to continue using the same car with peak performance you simply buy a new model and start upgrading again?thanks for reply

As a single player I mostly agree with gor, although we're getting some improvements over GRID:  more helpful mini map, car behind arrow, and what sounds like most (if not all) the old tracks plus a bunch, and more cars.  And I believe audio effects have been improved, though my integrated monitor speakers are not quite stellar.

I am disappointed that much of GRID''s simplicity has been sacrificed, but there have always been plenty of GRID players supporting more customizing, tuning, upgrades and qualifying laps.  Even so, we are told that these developments are optional, at least in the career.  A save, maybe.

So it's still down to handling, which has to be experienced.  I understand that Codies are fully occupied meeting the release deadline, but I hope a demo is offered as soon as possible for the sake of latecomers at least.  I know - after release and after post-release blues fixing bugs, etc.

If I was King of the World it would be different, but it looks to me like we're getting a GRID sequel (please, please let the handling not be buggered); late, different, but recognizable.  At least in the career game.

    PC/keyboard, offline single player.
Installation disc for the World.  And a Demo.

  9. im hoping the wall and obstacles will be back in autosport, leaving debri such as tyres  on the track for the remainder of the race...this was a huge ammount of fun in first grid..pls delete penalty system as just dulls down the race and dont forget cheaters can be kicked anyway..mostly racers in grid race on the edge of what is possible within the spirit of true racing

  10. have to agree with the last 2 posts ,all along we said dont change any features from grid1 and all will be well..i feel there will be many complications with tuning/upgrades/dont see why flashbacks would be even considered in mp..so let the race begin and all will be revealed :[

  11. reading all the posts here about text chat and being a grid veteran im astounded you will miss this important feature out yet again...great for community fun as well as organising in game setting or whatever...pls include it and btw spectate from lobby too is a massive + for the whole online experience
