  1. I'm being nervuous that @PJTierney didn't deny it's the final DLC. If it is, then I really regreat. New rally content for DR 2.0 would be extraordinary and really desirable. I'd buy it just as it comes, as I did in season 3 despite being recycled. However if it's true, than thank you Codies for Dirt Rally 2.0 - it already gave me great moments and I'm pretty pretty sure it will give me more in future too.

Never really been interested in modding, I like having the same base game as everyone else.

Well maybe it's a bit against what I've written above about making you happy, but you mentioned Assetto Corsa Competizione. The old Assetto Corsa, not the new Competizione, is title which has extraordinary amount of modded content. Tracks around the world. For example, I'm from Poland which has the only one hi grade race track in Poznań (tbh I live about 100 km away :P). Guess what 😉

Why?  I race on both PC and console using an RSeat rig and Fanatec DD1 with several different Fanatec rims and I have more fun with my PS4 racing games than I do with any PC game.  The easy plug-and-play nature of the console experience is just invaluable.  PC, as fun as it can be, is often a pain in the neck (companion programs, devices stop working, driver issues, etc).  I do still enjoy PC as well, but personally I’ll take the convenience of my console 9 out of 10 times.

Btw, my advice is to add a round wheel to your set up. The quick release system on Fanatec is fantastic and you can easily swap the rims out in seconds.  You don’t need the locking screw if you are using the quick release so you can just pop the rims off and on as needed.  I’ve found having a round rim for rally use to be a huge asset.  Using a round rim, I’ve found it helpful to be able to let the wheel quickly spin back through your hand on hairpins, etc.  Something I couldn’t do when using my F1 or McLaren rims.

I’m interested to see how your times go as you get used to the wheel.  I was a pad only racer for years before switching a couple years ago.  For rally specifically, i haven’t found much of an improvement in times but using the wheel is a lot more fun. It’s more about the immersion factor.  I did find improved times on GT Sport and other track games, but not a dramatic difference.  It’s just easier to be more consistent with a wheel....and it’s a lot more immersive!

Mostly becouse high framerate/refresh if we talk about Dirt. Oh, and VR later on. Not to mention plenty of games which are able to be modded on PC, and/or are PC exclusives, and still to have high framerate/refresh. Everyone is talking about PC "issuses", except people who actually plays on PC almost don't have them.

This is a very bizarre and nonsensical thing to say. They could explain it in far more depth and detail, they have told us very little. No one here is asking to see the entire game code.

They could explain why, out of all the countless things developers can do to increase performance, they picked a horrible looking fog that make it look painfully bad.

They could explain why and how their "visual upgrade" has resulted in Finland looking a hell of a lot worse than in DR1. To me it just says they have done an astonishingly awful job.

They could explain why they think Finland DLC is in a condition fit for release in its current state. It's so awful Codies can't even show screenshots of it. They should have postponed release

They could explain why they release fake screesnshots that look nothing like the real game.

They could explain how they managed to get dusk and sunset to run ok without the horrible fog.

They could explain why this fog is the same on all platforms and why PC has no option to adjust it.

They could explain why it took them two months to give such a short and incomplete response.

They could explain why they say they don't plan to fix it, when it's so far below standard and so bad some players are avoiding Finland.

I could go on and on. Lots of questions, next to zero information.

"clues as to how their tech works" oh dear. You are actually under some delusion that tech stuff in a video game that anyone can buy is some super-confidential high-level military secret that cannot even be hinted at. Try to get to touch with reality would you? Maybe then you would also understand that they can give us information without sharing the entire game code.

    Couldn't say it better.

@gk9147 Yeeeey so we would be given a chance to pay third time for the same content!!!

I don't think so. I'm on console and PJ confirmed that Finland seems to be toned down for everyone,  and still I have seen plenty of replays showing clear skies and roads without fog.

What deserves more attention is twisting things and misrepresentation of 'facts'.

Then stop even argueing. Consoles are why this fog was added, no surprise you defend it. For me it's annoying, especially having in mind Finland from DR1. Great far look and great rain - both taken away from game becouse of consoles. It's not like I don't enjoy Finland at all, but it obviously looks worse than it would without this artrificial fog.

  6. Lol, I was actually right, the fog effect is becouse sh***y consoles has to handle the game, and won't be allowed to turn off on PCs becouse "everybody has to have the same" bulls**t talking. Yet still, I'm happy rain is about to come to finland (however I predict it will be connected fog or some other effect that lowers view/draw distance even more, as rain is heavy itself).

Codies, where you have lost your balls?

The Alpine here is competitive but an ugly beast, with his open diff and its featherweight really require concentration..

I find it's undrivable on stock setup, however I was surprised, how much it changed with only small alignments to it's rear wheels.

German maneuvres in Poland will always in history sound incredibly bad and inappropriate 😛

No offence man, was kinga laughing 🙂 (however it's true)

If the team have too much to do then here's a suggestion

Team has too much hunger for money, it's absolutely clear for me - maybe becouse sales are poorer than expected or idk. Season 4 must go on to be sold. Also, GRID came out of nowhere and many people reviewed it as "good but seems almost like unfinished". IMO Codies are to small to focus on so many projects simultaneously and here we are. For me finland is good, I'm glad of having it like it is instead of not at all, but this fog and lack of rain is frustrating. It just came to my mind - maybe it's limitation becouse consoles weren't able to maintain framerate?

Alrighty, picked out about 50 for the next batch, expect to see them over the coming months 🙂

Quick tip for what I like to see on @dirtgame:

    • Non-modded liveries
    • No damage
    • 1920x1080
    • Angles and cars we've not used before

So are my all screens 1920x1200 pointless? This is my native resolution so nothing confusing that I make such screens too 😞

  10. I've played both, will never agree. Hopeless FFB, my major issue. Physics at least much more feeling realistic (in DR2.0). Liked modern WRC cars, but honestly - I'm mostly interested in historic ones so...  I'm generally ok that there's few rally games that are considerable as good, but for me WRC8 could not exist.

  11. My first impressions:

Huge difference between surface in DR1 and DR2. IMO Finland suffered from going to this soft, flexible roads, at least if somebody had comparison to DR1 printed so hard in mind as me. From the other hand, I admit this one is more realistic, when it comes to forest roads. I also have feeling that it's more wide now. Colors are washed for me, and I'm upset there is no rain. Thank god there is wet surface condition, but we want real rain too! Cmon' Codies, look on map what part of the world is it! 🙂 So my first impression is... mixed. I need to get used, and you have some work to do too 🙂dirtrally2_2019_11_05_09_44_08_630.thumb.jpg.7bf560068e31d5e17289d0a30a840f08.jpgdirtrally2_2019_11_05_09_43_59_176.thumb.jpg.4d5b42e4827eee1d7f52c9edb70367df.jpgdirtrally2_2019_11_05_09_16_15_915.thumb.jpg.b4bab97440d85b610c94d47d0c49c63c.jpgdirtrally2_2019_11_05_09_22_42_644.thumb.jpg.746dbb7c233e467d26514e42efbe4764.jpg

I thought i’d put you out of your misery as people’s cryptic responses to you may be a little misleading and making you think you missed something big, when you didn't lol

Someone posted a link to a tweet by Seb Ojier’s (spelling) wife complaining about the Citroen WRC team, she also used a pun to describe Citroen, using as swear word which sounds like Citroen.  🤣

therefore i’m baffled as to why a few user’s on this forum have complained about it. I think pj only deleted it because the swearing wasn’t blurred out.

if you have twitter you should be able to find it. It wasn’t very interesting to be honest, but it was a bit of rally gossip i guess lol

P.s. I never knew the 206 WRC only had 5 gears, i guess you learn something new every day! Chuffed the car is now in the game, i (like many others) have been longing for it for ages  🎉

307 CC WRC had even only 4. But 206 in description has 6 😄 Small bug.

Is it reasonable to expect Xsara WRC in DR2.0? After 206 arrived, this will be my most desirable car...

The BRZ it’s also a valid base for a wrc return...or maybe an r5 version

IMO there should be rally class of under/about 300 HP RWD cars, like GT86, BRZ, MX5, Fiat 124, maybe some BMWs, maybe Supra... would be fun to watch and should be popular for promotion of this type of road cars.
