I have to say, those mountains in Sweden really surprised me, and I like them. It fit's awesomely well with my league plans for a Rally Norway and a Rally Sweden separately.

That brings up a question @KickUp , can you recognize those, let's call them Fjord-Mountains, on the preview-screen when generating a Stage? So you can see, if that stage goes through/contains this particular area or not?

well.. its not authentic to have those type of fjord mountains in värmland... then rename it to norway instead of sweden

Thought I saw quite few steep mountains in the area north of Torsby last time I drove through there. Those in the screenshot looks a bit too step though, but I can live with giving codies some artistic freedom for dramatic effect.

  2. Weeell..  at least my last stage was clean. Couldn't really get a feel for the i20 when pushing, so got some really weird mix of understeer and oversteer when pushing harder. Which of course led to a fair amount of spins :-/ Couldn't really figure out what it was at the midway service either, so didn't dare start fiddling with the diffs in case I just made it worse.

  3. Saving the results here just in case:

Tight overall, we're in for an interesting season :-)

  4. Does anyone know how the rules would work if it was four wrc cars? Are all 4 eligible to score points with the two highest places taking it, or is it 3 cars max with a fourth in a secondary team like last year? I would think an r5 is more likely, Hyundai seem keen to get the r5 out on wrc rounds to promote it as a winning car

If I remember correctly it's 3 cars can score, but the top 2 of those are counted. So a fourth car would be... well.. crap. Unless they enter two teams with 2 drivers, but that's a bit odd. 2 teams with 3 drivers each for 2018 might be possible, but sounds expensive.

Relatively happy with that event. Last two stages weren't quite as good but was otherwise pretty consistent. I got almost identical times both ways till the last long stage. No accidents and at worst I clipped the wall slightly going a little wide a couple times. Not quite sure how they will hold up since I could tell I could go quicker through some areas. I set personal best times on each stage so was a definite improvement since the last time I had driven 2010s so I'm happy with that at least.

@dytut I always felt the mini or fiesta were the slowest in 2010 class. I like the i20 but just not quite as much as the Polo.

The mini is quite fast if you drive it right, and the fiesta is very fast and quite versatile (very nice torque curve). I've always felt the i20 to be the least powerful and the wonkiest suspension of the 2010 cars. Not undriveable in any way, but it's hard to really wring out good performance from it.

My Monte run is done now, and the i20 was quite fun to drive. Had it at pretty much vanilla settings except for stiffening the suspension and shocks a bit.
No big drama overall, some bad hairpins with small spins but nothing major. Had a nice back and forth fight with @Scyy all the way to SS6 where he suddenly lost 16s on me. Hoping for a podium finish, but suspect I'll be down around 4th once the speed demons have done their runs.

  6. I do 980 (or is it 1080) and soft lock with mu T300RS, and usually try to refrain from using the handbrake on any car that didn't have it IRL (don't think I've touched it this season). I like it, you have to rely more on setting up the car correctly which makes the cars feel more different from each other.
Don't have clutch or H-shifter though.

  7. Decided to try to just have some fun and see if I could get the S4 to let me have some fun.

SS1 was decent, but had a spin just at the end which cost me about 10s.
SS2 was also quite OK, but then the S4 reared it's ugly head again. Just the smallest of touches on the right side unsettled the car, which sent me to the left side. But instead of just getting on with it I got a sudden jolt that sent me off track... and into an instant reset. 20 seconds lost :-/

Focused on getting through SS3 clean, which went decently well. Took back 20 seconds on @baunau (what happened there?), and was suddenly in 2nd. SS4 I was suddenly in the lead, which I managed to keep for the rest of the rally. Felt good to end the season of somewhat of a high note :-)

Congratulations to @baunau for a solid season, great driving! @Snaky115 doing well aswell, but the breakthrough of this season has to be @scyy who has had good speed and a real good consistency.

Evans issues for this season are Dmack related.  Where's Evans is fast, Dmack is not and vice versa. Imho Evans never was as fast as Tänak on gravel and on tarmac DMack just heats up too fast. I hope it rains in Germany and he gets a decent opportunity to show some pace.

That's good for DMACK though, gives them better data for developing good tarmac tyres. But yeah, must be frustrating for Evans. And when the tyres work the car has malfunctioned instead.

  9. In general even Ogier will have two rallies per season where he goes off or has mechanical failures, so it's not over yet. But Neuville has no margin anymore, he has to deliver all the time or his hopes for the championship are over. Latvala has delivered points even on rallies where he hasn't been fast, even in Mexica where the car didn't work well so he has some small bit or margin.

  10. I'm on pins and needles for Argentina and Portugal now. Neuville needs to rack up some serious points to be able to catch up to Ogier, and Latvala needs to focus on keeping at least equal. If Ogier gets above 3rd on both rallies it'll be a tall order for Neuville to catch up and it'll be up to Latvala to keep the challenge alive.
