  1. In gossip news, the F1 games have a permanent community manager now. Hopefully we will also see some more community stuff
*waves* Hoping to not be a stranger to you guys too!
Hi and welcome :-) Just remember that if you ever get into a tight spot in the dirt rally forums, just as what Subaru WRC model was running in a specific year and gently sneak away from the situation ;-)

V2 cars are just lighter and therefore jump further. The general consensus is that yes, V2 feels much better, but the cars are in the air for too long. I'd say somewhere inbetween the air time of V1 and V2 would be juuuust right.
The cars are exactly the same mass between v1 and v2. The effect of the aero (downforce) is more accurate hence the perceived reduction in weight. What we had in v1 was way too much and very primative. What we have now is much more complex and accurate but I'm not going to claim it is perfect.

Rewriting the aero again to make it even more accurate is going to take a long time as it is incredibly complex mathematics. We will then have to rebuild every single car from the ground up to support it.

The simulation team moved mountains to get v2 into the game but a v3 is not going to happen any time soon.
Well understood :-) Is there any possibility of an "ugly/quick" hotfix for v2 flight time or is that completely off the charts?

  3. Look on the bright side. One of the good things aboit including the 307 in a video game is that you wont get all the technical issues
I'd actually want this :-) But guess it has to be some real career mode where different teams really had different cars, and once you've made your mark in a cheap rally class you'd be offered a place in one of the new teams with unreliable cars.

  4. Also, some of these cars could possibly be under a older license from their WRC games, WRC3 for example had exactly this same Celica shown in the Trailer, same goes to the Satria Neo.
I recall Shift 2 Unleashed having some licenses for some tracks that still carried over from the GT Legends and GTR2 era (having Dijon, Enna and Zolder wasn't a coincidence at all :P ) maybe it's the same case with SLRE...

If I recall correctly, licenses have to be renewed for each title. I don't think there is such a thing as carry-over licenses. What may happen is licenses becoming easier to renew due to company-developer relations.

Also, a bit off-topic but I don't want to start a whole other thread just for this: does anyone know if the Kit-Cars run V2 physics? Which classes do and don't actually?
I don't think kit cars are running full v2, but they're on a better setup than v1.

  5. Will be oh so interesting to what happens at launch and after EA. Either they have a big release package with new cars and more stages available at launch, and keep going with regular DLCs. Or DR will just get released as is, and then they hopefully use the physics and engine for a DR:2 with more or everything.

I seriously hope they keep building on DR with regular DLC:s and stuff for years to come.

  6. Well a full on RX career mode might be feasable. Start off with some folk race (google it) to begin with, then move on to slower local and then national RX cars and tracks. Then finally off to the WRX.

Do 8 WRX locations (with variations), and then 2-3 national RX locations per WRX country. Maybe 2-3 simple dirt folk race locations.
