DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Yeah, but dirt rally did have a long EA where there was loads of talk, then a final pc release, followed by a console release, followed by PSVR release. There was a lot to talk about for a long time!

I can mention the Toyota S1E22B WRC to start an argument if you want?

The title battle is still wide open. Ogier obviously has a relatively big advantage now though. But with 15 points up for grabs in powerstage points in the next few rounds, it's all to play for. Thierry should be quick in Spain too.

Seems very unlucky, he took a cut, and as the rear wheel came out the cut and back onto the road, it just seemed to catch the wheel on the edge of the road and ripped the driveshaft out, as well as busting the rear suspension. Gutted for him

Wrc plus has all the coverage. Info and fan videos/pictures comes from Facebook and Twitter. Twitter is genuinely a great way to follow the wrc, if you don't have an account, you can easily make one, then just follow anyone connected with the wrc, all the teams, drivers, presenters and a few fan accounts all post the latest news over the weekends

Weather conditions will be a big factor this weekend. I feel so bad for Meeke, I really like him, but I can really see this year being the end of his rallying career :(

In other news, I thought I'd be competing on the national rally on Rally GB this year, but it looks like my brother will be doing it instead. Whilst a bit disappointing, it means I'll be able to get out on the stages and watch the 2017 beasts throw some Welsh mud about!

What our everybody's Germany predictions then? I'm going for Neville. He's been traditionally fast on tarmac and in Germany, good road position, and the Hyundai looks good on tarmac. Think Sordo could get second, Ogier or latvala third?

The Japanese took the saying 'if you want to win, hire a Fin!' to different levels! It's good to see a team ran by a Fin, built and developed in Finland and driven by 3 Fins all leading the rally!

Finland will definitely be interesting, I feel like everyone will want to go for it. In the build ups Neuville has competed on and won a national Finnish rally, whilst Ogier has had a high speed accident. Wonder what, if any affect that will have on the result? Can't see meeke pushing too hard, he can't afford to write off another C3, and Citroen are probably running out of spares. At least they are good at fixing them by now!

I hate these type of "rally fans" I know that you want to get close to the cars, and that this is the way you did this 20 years ago and back then nothing happened. But you are one of the causes rally is set as a too dangerous sport. And the reason a great rally like rally Poland could be removed from the calendar next year. It are these people who mostly die or get injured from crashes but we all know that some news sources ignore this. Saying rally is dangerous and should be banned. Although if these "fans" would have been in the correct location behind the tape everything would have gone right and we happily go rallying.  Sorry for my little rant.  I was out on a rally yesterday as service crew, but as the service areas were right at the stage ends and we had a bit of time on our hands between stages I walked in a little way to watch. Think it's my first time spectating since rally gb 2015. It reminded me how I can never understand why people want to get that close to cars, especially on the same level as the stage. The only time I will be that close to a car is if I'm on a bank well above the stage on the inside of the corner. People are very stupid to risk their lives over little things like an adrenaline rush

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Firstly the physics being not as 'sim' as dirt rally is only opinion. There are many areas which are miles better than DR, and others that aren't quite as good. Secondly coming out with a new game any saying 'we've got this new thing, it's alright but we haven't got it right yet' isn't a great way of selling a game!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

My brother was speaking to one of his friends a few weeks back who recently got a fiesta R5, and he literally said that it was so easy to drive because it was so grippy and responsive. The challenge with them is driving them fast and getting every second out of them

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Quote from the article: The benefit of rally cars in real life is that they already drive in a very arcadey manner in real life, so translating them into a game, even ultra realistically, makes for the arcadiest driving sim that you can imagine. What the hell does that even mean? XD Btw nice to hear there will be a nearly 20 min long stage in every rally location So that's why Sebastian Ogier was shouting POPCORN! ARCADE! After he finished rally Poland!

I know that the incident didn't happen on any stages, and I am biased, but just a fine for that? Seems lenient to me..but what else could they do I suppose. It's normally how traffic violations are dealt with in rallying. It's not related directly to timing so a time penalty is not really that relevant to it. Surprised that seb would be stupid enough to do something like that, especially in the position he's in (world champ)

Awesome spectacle, just a shame spectators and organisers are doing their best to get it removed from the calendar! https://youtu.be/tpWFF6caVEg Gotta agree and disagree at the same time. Problems are everywhere, not only in Poland. Just look at spectator safety in Portugal or Cyprus.  About the firemans car - stupid young safety man waving his hand instead of running into middle of the road and stopping them. Safety crew are one of biggest problems. PZMOT instead of hiring people are grabbing people from street. How 40kg weighting boy is supposed to scream at a group of 20 estonians and make them move somewhere?  BTW. Main reason for canceled stage were Estonians in forbidden places.  Of course, didn't mean it was just Poland! Argentina also has lots of problems, and even here in the UK we have problems!

Remember that Ogier didn't win that much last year? Mai my due to road position, but he hardly won any gravel rallies. One thing I feel this year, is Ogier has been incdredibly lucky. How many times has he left the road this year and gotten away with it? Monte: same ditch as Elfyn who lost loads of time Sweden: spun at the start and could have easily got stuck Mexico: two offs, one of them he went off quite badly and was very lucky to get away with it hes probably had some more I've forgotten, plus leaving the road several times in Poland. Can he give some of that luck to Paddon?

Neuville said at the end of the stage that he'd been told Ott was pushing way too hard and was going to crash. Sounds like Neuville backed off ever so slightly and took a risk that Ott would make a mistake, and it paid off for him. A bit gutted that the fight didn't go till the end, but why an amazing rally! Incredibly close all weekend, with 11 lead changes across 20 stages!

Please dont fix it. It's better to have some consequences for your actions, one could almost call it a feature.  Edit: Do you get time penalized for not stopping to marshall. How does it work in RL. (Hopefully not like in the video) You're fu*****. You have to give the time card to write up your stage time. No note = DNF AFAIK. PS. It may depend on the timing type: http://www.rallymatcher.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=974 Most rallies the marshals are much further after the finish than in D4, you'd be going pretty well to miss them! If you did, you would just go back and give them the time card, as that's the only reason why you stop at the marshals. The time is clocked automatically on the flying finish, the marshals just write a physical copy of it on the time sheets.

Haha, wow. Guess I should've figured that no ones seen that movie... as AWESOME as it is. You guys kind of suck. If you want to get STAIGHT to the quote, go to 1:20. Ahh makes more sense now. Never seen that movie, but recognize that it was parodied in the Post-Credit Scene of Deadpool...   it's something :) Look at me, I'm Mary Poppins Y'all !  I've said it before and I'll say it again, old movies are better. Surprised at how many know AIPLANE! but not Ferris Bueller. It's on my Netflix watch list! Need to see it.
