Going airborne in dirt 4 did feel a lot better. The cars felt heavy in the air, and didn't fly to the moon. That in addition to better edges of the road that no longer catapult you into the sky make the game a whole lot better!

real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship
RallyDriven replied to Fedemaisonnave's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
My bets on Neuville. Maybe literally, I may place a bet on it! Am I the only one who doesn't like Bertelli's car? Not a fan of the Chrome, and I don't particularly like the bottom of it either -
Wonder if that means there will be no seb loeb rally 2? There's a new roadbook out focussing on landrush. I can confirm that sliding the rear wheel drive trucks around baja was insanely good fun!
-
When we played it, I drive two cars, the fiesta, and the BLANK. The Hyundai was there but wasn't ready, and I don't think I played in the BLANK, but that may have been ready
-
Was that the game where you're sponsors wouldn't pay you if bits of your body work with their logo on fell off? I always liked the sound of that game, just never played it
-
If I remember correctly, I think there were a lot of weather options, like light rain, heavy rain etc. Can't remember how many options there were, but there was a decent variety!
-
I'm starting to get pretty fast, just lacking some consistency still! Call me Michael Kubica
-
Just tried the daily which was the 037 in Finland, something I'd never bothered to try on a controller. Holy shit! The right pedal isn't the throttle, it's just a button that sends you backwards into a tree!
-
I think there's some kind of thing with pre order bonuses that they have to become available for purchase for everybody else at a later stage

I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming at 2! I'm looking forward to seeing some more of Spain, as when we visited it was a little buggy with floating guard rails and trees and such! Unless that was intentional? My guess will be some Wales and/or rallycross gameplay

I've set some up for a big game take down. FINISH HIM!

Didn't know that the gossip thread had so many spam fighting super heroes!
-
It's quite satisfying when you get rid of one! They are pretty annoying though!
-
Basically there were a whole bunch of pre-set patterns to chose from, and you could change the colours of it, change your door numbers and apply sponsors
-
With forza, I'm either really good, or absalotely terrible! And the problem is I like running my own liveries so I can have my own number on the side of my car, and carry over the same sponsors. So if what I make turns out like crap, I'm either stuck with it, or I have to download someone else's! I really enjoyed grid's editor, it was simple, yet allowed for a lot of options, so I'm more than happy with that type of system

I don't see any spam, but that's probably just because I speak fluent Korean. There's some pretty intelligent discussions going on, it's just all being misunderstood :(
-
So its going well? :P Definitely! I'm getting more used to it now and I'm getting faster! And the Audi licence wasn't a problem with need for speed. Hopefully the Audi support may help resolve the issue, if it's not too late into development to get it into the game! Unsure whether it's 16 or 17 content, will probably be 16 I guess

I have literally no idea what I'm doing with my wheel, don't know what half the feedback sliders do and I think I changed the rotation to about 720 but I haven't got a clue. What I do know is its bloody good fun! (and if I wasn't hungover and trying not to die/be sick, I'd be on it now!)
-
Noooo! I told everyone to stop doing that, and now look! I'm not even on the list :(

You could get a cheap USB gamepad and make some kind of lever mechanism which depresses one of the buttons (or make a custom one using a micro switch and soldering that to one of the existing buttons of the gamepad). You would basically be using that gamepad as the brains of the handbrake, so you wouldn't need to program anything, the PC would just see the gamepad, so everything should work just fine. That would require some craftsmanship though :D I wanted to do something like this, just haven't gotten around to do it. It's H-shifter in the video. With a handbrake you would be using just one button instead of many and the mechanism would be a bit different, but the principle remains the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEJT4V1UzZ4 Before I sold my Obutto/Triple screen setup I used my TH8 as my handbrake for RBR (before DR came out). It worked great! But I gave up on sim racing for awhile because there seemed to be no rally simulator ever coming out again and circuit racing just doesn't do it for me anymore like it used to. Then Dirt Rally came out of absolutely nowhere, luckily I saved my Clubsport wheel/pedals and a basic wheel stand just in case. Rally sim + wheel setup is just the absolute best. I can't believe @RallyDriven just now got one! I have seen you posting here for a long time. Btw I now use a button for handbrake, it takes a little to get used to but you'll get it! Well I don't really have a lot of room for a wheel, and I still don't really! I'm not really sat in the best position, back of my chair is up against the foot of my bed and pedals are against the wall! It's ok, but I'd prefer to be sat a bit more spread out and in a proper seat! And I have been around for quite a while now! Been on this thread since the first page, and I was in the old forums since before the release of dirt 3, but I had a different username!

I didn't play much Michigan, but it was extremely fast in places! Will be a true test of balls!
-
Farewell @RallyDriven. You were a fine fellow controller player, now you're just another wheel snob... It's called #MasterRace
-
I've driven a real world stage that was less than 1 mile before, so... whilst I agree that it would be nice to have longer stages, it's not that unrealistic, and it's clearly a tech limitation otherwise I'm sure they would be longer

Yep! Cheers for the setup help! You can tweak it to suit yourself, but I find that setup communicates what the car is doing fairly well Are you beating your own times yet? :) First I beat mine, then I beat yours! Can you see mine? What stage was it, il get a rip at it Haha, it's a future target ;) What do you use as handbrake? I've currently got it as B, but I can never seem to find it once the wheel isn't level
