real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship
RallyDriven replied to Fedemaisonnave's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
I think Hyundai will be very strong this year, especially if Neuville is back in the same form he was in a few years back when he was in a fiesta. Hopefully Paddon isn't put off by this weekends events and continues his recent form, although we know his tarmac speed isn't brilliant. Citroen is a bit unknown right now. I don't now why they didn't put Breen in the C3 this weekend instead of Lefervebevebevre. Im not convinced on the Yaris from this weekend, it didn't look great through the slow corners. I'm guessing that all the aero works brilliantly on the fast stuff, but is possibly a hinderence on the slow corners Ford, will, they've got Ogier, so that's an immediate advantage! The car didn't look as planted to the ground compared to the Hyundai -
We weren't there very long!

Yeah, ogier definitely did not walk this, he had some luck on his side with everyone else hitting trouble, but even he himself hit trouble. There weren't many this weekend that didn't have an issue -
Yeah brands is a great tack, did it last year with my dad in our standard 1.4 MG, although we were on slicks in the wet! https://youtu.be/gPziFXv_Jpg

Neuville was incredibly unlucky. Monte isn't a great place to determine speed because of the conditions. We probably won't get a proper understanding until maybe Sweden or one of the faster events later in the year -

Yeah I'm a bit annoyed, I forgot to cancel wrc+. Although RBTV doesn't have the final live stage, which can occasionally throw up some last minute drama. Speaking of which, Tanak is haveinf engine problems, missing cylinders apparently -
It's my brothers car, I don't normally co drive for him, we were just doing it for a bit of fun and seeing how the car would go after an engine and gearbox rebuild, so he is definitely not going to be happy. Well, when he wakes up, think he went out and got pretty drunk last night!

We're not too sure, engine just seemed to seize without much warning

That's rally, sometimes it's incredibly unfair, a small mistake can have a huge punishment, whereas someone else will get away with a big mistake -

Didn't use to have rally2 at all. And yeah, there are pretty bad conditions this yeah, which is odd as I've heard the skiing season across France has been awful, lots of places are having droughts -
As per usual with my rallying videos, excuse the swearing, but here's what we managed of Brands Hatch before the car packed up! Didn't really manage to get into the swing of things before it was all over! https://youtu.be/raZc3v8qxnU

I was really hoping for a Neuville win. Still, it would be nice to see m-sport get a 1-2! The Hyundai is looking like the better car so far though, looks very planted compared to the fiesta -
I'm back annoyingly early from my first rally of 2017, never great when you can fit a whole day's rallying into a 4 minute video! :(

I hope it's dominoes.

Monte is a lot down to strategies and luck. Road positions make a big diiference, and so do tyres. It's very easy to gain and lose huge margins -

Toyota is reliant on latvala then! I remember hyundai's debut a few years back Thierry chew shed and sordo broke down, didn't make it through the first day! Monte has has been a bit chaotic so far, with Evans, Ogier and Lefrebrvevebe having offs. The atmosphere on the stages still looks in high spirits despite yesterday though -

Spoke too soon! Twitter is saying he's stopped in the stage -

Yeah I've heard reports that he was told many times to move but didn't. This could very easily create some awful press with the new cars, and the fact it was broadcast live on tv. Just depends how much research the wankers at the daily mail put into it -

I'm not posting the pictures, but you can clearly see someone stood where Paddon hit the wall at the bottom of the hill from the onboard. He could have gotten out the way, but still. But if anything it's better that the papers report that he simply fell rather than being hit and launched up the hill, which is what I think happened -

He was stood on the outside of a bend covered in black ice, no cover, and no where to escape. As I suspected, the papers are already picking it up, the mirror in the uk has wrote an article, fortunately it's just factual and well written, but you just know a shitty article is on its way from the daily mail -

Yeah, he did have a bit better road position as he started back with the wrc 2 because he got held up in ss1. Tomorrow we will really see how everyone fairs! -

I'd imagine that's from Paddon'a press team, doubt he would be in a position to post that yet. And he wouldn't be allowed to comment on the spectator at this time, not his job to say such things, nor would he probably want to -

Nothing official. A lot of unofficial reports suggesting an air ambulance, and a few French and Spanish press saying a fatality. We will have to wait for something official, I'm hopeful for good news, but I doubt it will be -

I'm hoping he fell, but it's really not looking good. The onboard definitely shows a person there, and the outside shows someone falling violently down the hill. There were people rushing over to the person as well. Hoping for some good news soon
