I hope it's true, but I've seen a nasty picture on twitter which I won't share which looks like a person being hit by the car as it hits the bank :( hipenim weong though -
real life 2020 FIA World Rally Championship
RallyDriven replied to Fedemaisonnave's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
There's an oboard and you can 100% see that there was a spectator in the ditch where Paddon went off, and can then see them faking back down after on the outside camera. Unfortunately it's not looking great at the moment. Sad for the spectator, Hayden and John, and the sport as a whole -
Have all the sub section headings on the forum disappeared for anyone else? Seems only on the mobile site though
-
There may not have been pizzas or kebabs, but The burgers at the end of the day were very good!
-
My dogs don't care what I spend my money on! <3
-
You should be banned.... lol When the day does come, it will be worth the wait and teasing! I'm very much looking forward to being able to talk about it!
-
Fair enough, unfortunately I'll probably never try it on a wheel! It's fun when you know when certain road books containing certain information are going to be released!
-
I played it a few months ago because it was the free game of the month on Xbox. Don't have a wheel so I haven't tried, but I just really didn't like it! Oh well, it was free so I only wasted time on it in the end! I am missing a proper driving game right now, is love grid autosport on backwards compatible! Wasn't the best game, but there was some pretty good racing to be done in the touring cars
-
I can kind of see that, I'm probably the opposite though. If it's aracade but still feels authentic and behaves how you would expect, even if dumbed down a bit. It's when nothing reacts In any way remotely similar to real life I struggle
-
You can play the crew but not grid?! I'm a bit biased because I was a huge fan of grid, but I couldn't stand the physics in the crew, just found the cars unpredictable to drive. Grid is very arcade, but I always felt it was a solid handling model that was easy to learn and difficult to master.

I saw the whole thing from across the room. I thought @Rallycameraman was going to go full-Galli on you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmp_ELOZdwM  I was getting ready to run!
-
Hmm. FFB on loose surfaces is ok/good. On tarmac it's much too vague. The way the the wheel returns to the center during transitions isn't really fast enough imo. However, you might have played something else to what we currently have ;) Haha, nope, I was taking about when I played PSVR dirt rally. It was the first time in over a year that I played on a wheel, which is why I found it so good

Being a controller user, playing on a wheel at codies the other month I was amazed by how the wheel reacts to the game, and how genuine it behaved. It really felt like an actual rally car
-
It's definitely very playable on a controller, and you can be very quick, but you will get more out of it on a wheel! Wish I had the space for one in my room, I'd definitely get one sorted!
-
Are you playing on a wheel on XB1 or a controller? Because you are an absolute mile ahead of me on most stage times! Then again, I do t play an awful lot as I've been trying not to learn the stages as best as I can, I prefer relying on the co-driver
-
'Plenty of people'? You're talking about very few people, and a shit tonne of money! And yes, I play console. If I had the money and space for a gaming pc, wheel and peddle set up and VR, or in your case a life sized model of a fiesta world rally car, then I would. But sadly I don't. I do however compete in real rallying, and have experienced dirt rally in VR, and it was pretty dam good!
-
Even more stuff going on in the cockpit of an aircraft... VR doesn't even have any plans on how they are going to make me FEEL the buttons and controls. If you just want to be a "gamer" I see no problems with VR, however.... lots of us use simulation to keep sharp, or practice, VR is many many years out from being able to compete with a mock cockpit and hard controls. Wel, yeah obviously! But how are you supposed to bring the cockpit of a plane to life in your living room? Plus each plane is going to be different? This doesn't make sense! And anyway, how does having a screen setup (even if it is a triple) allow you to feel buttons and controls? What your talking about is purpose built simulators, built for proper companies or motorsport teams. Doesn't really have any relavance to dirt rally coming to PSVR does it?
-
I'd say VR is as close as you'll ever get to doing the real thing, especially when combined wit a motion seat or whatever, so whatever your opinion on it, I don't see why you would class it as 'useless'?
-
I played PSVR dirt rally at codies, it was pretty cool! First ever VR experience, and also the first time I've played Dirt on a wheel since January 2015, but the sensation of VR meant I got the hang of it very quickly! Also, as @Rallycameraman found out, I'm not as good at virtual co-driving as I am at real life co-driving! I put it down to being an Xbox player and having no idea of the PlayStation controller layout!

'This guy got angry over a video game, what happened next will surprise you!'
-
I'm sure we will hit it pretty quick once a certain announcement has been made! ;)
-
The only thing that is unpredictable about the physics is landing on jumps, as if you don't have the wheels straight on landing, it will veer off randomly. It runs alright on Xbox, but I played it for a couple of weeks, then went back to dirt, and the difference between 30 and 60 fps was staggering! I've never really put a lot of thought into it before as I've only played on a console, but it does make a huge difference!
-
I quite enjoy the handling of it, it's occasionally a little too forgiving, like you can corner a bit too quick, especially in super cars, but I do like it
-
Yeah I said that a little while ago, he sounds like the mechanic bloke who told you about tuning and stuff in dirt 3
-
Shame Autosport was a bit rushed, could have been even better, and a true successor to the first. Instead it was a little buggy, and wasn't quite as good as the original. The handling was better though.
