I'd take a new location over new stages in current location any day, but I'd take anything new over nothing new any day too!
-
The excitement of hitting the stages again in 3 days time is killing me! edit: also something about racenet and dirtgame.com teased in the road book for Tuesday?

Here's a good look at full gravel pikes peak on PS4 with someone who can actually drive (only a couple of mistakes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Znv5d-dgZWQ

Interesting to see the press reaction thus far to the console release. I hope what is perceived to be a less mainstream game continues to receive such high praise. I see that the advance code competition is closed, so I now have my fingers (and other limbs) crossed... Well, I heard Ben put in Mexico and a RS1800, so you should be pretty pumped for that. :D I'm also going to take more credit than I probably should for getting you that PS4 code! Well massive thanks to you and everyone who put in a word for me: I am very grateful to you all! I unpacked the PS4 and began downloading as soon as I got in from work last night (obviously!). It's a pretty chunky file (just under 43 GB in total) so I started it off, then popped out for an hour. Came back to find the progress bar was, surprisingly, over half full. 30 minutes later and it said it was ready so, full of excitement (far more than any adult should have for a game) I fired it up, entered my name, tweaked the options and got ready for some rallycross... ...however it turned out the PS4 was lying! It seems the game is "ready" once it has reached approximately 15%. At that stage you can open the game, set all the options and the like, but the bulk of the content is still downloading. Still it wasn't all bad, as you can play two "preview" rally events at that point, one in a Mini Cooper, the other in a Mk.II Escort. Decided to start easy, so I went with the Mini: glad I did, as even with the Mini I was initially struggling! Managed to inadvertently get my first trophy after about 10 corners (I barrel rolled!), but after a few stages it started to click and soon after I claimed my first fastest sector time: hurrah! Read the PS4 manual and discovered you can enable downloading while in "rest" mode, so I left it resting overnight. As of this morning it had downloaded about 20GB, so I'm hoping it might be all done by this evening. That's the most irritating thing about the new consoles. I know you got a digital download, but if you buy a physical disc you HAVE to install all 50+ GB of content, and you only get enough HDD space for 10 games at that point. It's like buying a physical copy for PC and it's just a steam code, the CD doesn't have the content. :| Ah, I didn't know that! So even physical copies have to be fully downloaded? My first disc game (MGS5) should arrive this week, so I was expecting to pop that in and play it straight away!* (*if I can tear myself away from Dirt that is) Yeah, but if it is the same as Xbox, it's a lot quicker as it's an install rather than a download, and you can play the content as it installs, similar to downloads @kevm you're on Xbox one right? Mind if I as you?

Well, I'm the 'console crowd' and I've been here since the first page, as is @tbtstt :p
-
Glad you've finally got a taste of it again!

console reviews are starting to flood in now with 7 days to release. Doing well on PS4 with a score og 86 from 11 critics, so far one of the highest rated ps4 games, level with fallout http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/dirt-rally

There are some slight differences, but nothing that will bother me. And they're only noticeable when side by side.
-
I'm looking forward to playing dirt in full 1080p on a 32" tv, rather than playing at minimum specs on my struggling laptop. Kind of wish I hadn't put so many hours into the game playing it that way, but it was hard not to! Haven't played since November/December now, so looking forward to 7 days time!

By the sounds of it he was at the press event in Wales. It's funny because he started off calling Paul by his actual name, then quickly decided he was more of a Ben.
-
Was checking out some of the console previews when this one made me laugh. http://www.evo.co.uk/features/17558/dirt-rally-ps4-preview-rally-sim-is-console-boundSee if you can spot some of the mistakes, one of them being pretty hilarious

So I'm back from my week's skiing, didn't cause myself any permanent damage*, and I'm now ready for Dirt in just over a week!*I say permanent damage as there were many moments were I feared for my clumsy life. Falling and smashing through large chunks of frozen solid snow at high speed is incredibly painful!

Awesome, I also noticed the return of the S4 and 6R4 official liveries that aren't available in gameEdit: I notice it only mentions 'World Rallycross', does that mean we can't use the minis and S1600's in online PVP? @Hatward

Quite an interesting read, shows what the guys were up to in Australia the other week. I guess they're doing a similar event in Wales at the moment, hopefully we will see some stuff coming out of it next weeks or the week after
-
Can I add in the F1 forums? But seriously, let's leave the arguments and insults out of it
-
I'm guessing they won't be hiring battersea lowest action out and having Ken block piss about in it for a day for Dirt Rally's launch?
-
Can't link the tweet right now, but the guys are in Wales with dirt, ps4's and Liam Doran. Guess they are doing a big promo day for the build up to launch?
-
Yep, I'm so excited right now! 4 days of solid coursework, a week of skiing, a week of panic coursework and then Dirt time!By the way, anyone else here planning on picking up the Xbox One version?
-
I really hope the team get the BAFTA, it's well deserved from the others in the category. It will probably go to rocket league though
-
It's not the stage design that's the problem, it's the aerodynamics in the game which don't simulate correctly, which leads to the cars flying a bit more than they should.
-
Their suspension tech looks very good, which is one thing that dirt has always been leaps and bounds ahead of the competition
-
It doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the Fiesta! Hope it's competitive, but I'm sure it will be
-
I wouldn't say WRC isn't exciting. On face value seeing the same person win everything for 3 years looks boring, but elsewhere other than the top spot there has been lots of excitement and drama
-
Block is going to be one to watch. If he can keep it on the track he has the potential to be a challenger for the drivers title. And if not, we get some cool looking crashes. It's a win - win
-
No need to punish yourself that harshly @KingOfCoins. ;) Incredible bit of news. The Loeb rumour has been floating round for a while, I was concerned that, if he did get a drive with Peugeot, Davy Jeanney would be left without a seat again. The plan gives, Jeanney, Loeb and two Hansen's seats! Have to say I'm expecting one of the Peugeot-Hansen teams to take the title again, but the battle for the drivers title could go anywhere at the moment: and the driver annoucements haven't finished yet... Has Petter confirmed what he is doing yet?
